Next T-Mobile Tuesdays gift is something that no one should be without
T-Mobile Tuesdays giveaways are usually considerably spaced out, so it's a little surprising that a new freebie has popped up in the T-Life app a week after the last free item was distributed. That last gift was a water bottle that was panned for not being able to survive a couple of hours in a parked car. It was also delayed multiple times, which might be why it looks like the gift distribution is happening back to back. Anyhow, the upcoming freebie is a clear bag with a black and magenta strap and a small T-Mobile logo. The bag looks quite roomy and will likely be able to hold a day's worth of supplies easily.
We can't speak for its quality of construction at the moment, but looking at the last giveaway, it's best to keep your expectations in check.

The clear bag will be available in T-Mobile -owned and operated stores next Tuesday. Make sure to claim the freebie in the T-Life app ahead of time, but don't tap on the Start button to redeem it before you are the first in line at the store. That's because there's a five-minute window during which the freebie must be redeemed, and if you start the countdown ahead of time, you won't be able to pause or reset it. If you're someone who throws odds and ends into their bag and doesn't want the content of their bag to be on display at all times, this bag might not be for you. On the other hand, if you accumulate so much stuff that it becomes difficult to locate what you need, you will probably want to grab this freebie.
Also, see-through bags are the only kind of bags allowed at some schools and sporting events now, and if you see one in your future, this T-Mobile Tuesdays freebie is a must for you. After all, why invest in a bag that you will probably use no more than once a year when you can get one for free? This bag would also be great for people who need something to haul around stuff but don't want to be caught carrying something that looks even vaguely feminine.
The bottom line is that this bag can have many use cases, and though you might want to sit this one out after the bottle fiasco, it's a freebie after all, and there's no harm in picking it up and adding it to your ever-growing pile of stuff that you might need one day.

Google will finally allow you to change the icon shapes on Pixel's home screen. Here's what you need to know.
Today, Google launched the Pixel 10, but that's far from everything new from the company. Along with the device premiere, we've also got the latest Android Canary update, which brings a long-awaited icon personalization ability for the home screen of Pixel devices. The August 2025 Android Canary update adds the ability to customize the shapes of the icons on the home screen. Spotted by Android Authority, the customization option allows you to choose one of five preset shapes. Once you open the Wallpaper & Style app, you will notice that the Icons menu has changed. It now allows you to enable icon theming and switch the default circle-shaped icons to something else. The other options are a square, four-sided cookie, a seven-sided cookie, and an arch. The new icon shapes on Android | Image credit — Mishaal Rahman, Android Authority Changing the icon shapes on Android isn't a radically new idea. It was an option on the Pixel Launcher with Android 12, but it was later removed. The change first surfaced in an early beta version of Android 16 last year. In March, a more robust version of it was spotted in the code of the Android 16 Beta 3 release. Then, a menu with six shapes was uncovered. Those were the same five shapes we're getting in the current Canary update, and an extra complex clover option, which is now design changes might seem innocuous at first, but they're quite significant. Icon shapes could easily clash with the contents of some icons, which might be the reason why one of the shapes we've seen earlier is now gone. That's also an easy way to change the appearance of a home screen drastically. Android has always been famous for providing great customization options. Devices like the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S25 Ultra allow much easier customization than the iOS-powered iPhone 16. That's why all finalists in our home screen contest are from Android phones. I love having the opportunity to customize my devices, but I rarely do it. Whenever I've tried changing my home screen too much, I end up with a barely usable setup and shortly return to the default. That's why such a change is not a deal breaker for me, but I appreciate it.

Amazon is switching its Fire tablets to Android, report claims
Vlad, 20 August 2025 Amazon's long-running line of Fire-branded tablets is going to go through some significant changes, according to a new report. The company is allegedly planning to move away from its own Fire OS (which is a fork of Android) and actually use Android proper. The first Fire tablet to run Android will arrive next year, and will cost $400, which is a much higher price point than what we're used to seeing Fire tablets go for. The switch to Android has apparently been a multiyear project for Amazon, and it comes as a consequence of the retailer basically hearing too many complaints from its customers about Fire OS. Obviously, Amazon is hoping that its tablet sales would jump significantly following the switch to Android. There is still a catch here, however. Amazon will be using the open source Android, so there won't be any Google apps preinstalled. Source
