WATCH: Joyful scenes as Stephen Bradley's son finishes cancer treatment

Stephen Bradley's family were able to capture a great moment as their son Josh rang the bell at Crumlin Children's Hospital after 3 years of treatment for Leukaemia.
Josh was only 8-years-old when he was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2022 and has battled bravely as he's gone through the grueling treatment for it.
Shamrock Rovers manager Bradley has spoken quite candidly about his son's diagnosis in recent years, especially when he was linked with the job at Millwall late last year, he said his son's recovery was his 'number one priority' while considering the move to the Championship. Bradley also spoke about how he considered leaving Rovers after the diagnosis to be by his son's side. However he didn't and Josh became a favourite amongst fans as he was bel to celebrate Rover's League of Ireland title win in 2022.
A video from charity Oscars Kids Ireland was shared last night of Josh, now 11, ringing the bell in Crumlin Children's Hospital to mark the end of three year's of cancer treatment in what was an emotional scene for all.
After 3 long years of treatment, Josh rang the bell today!
Our hearts are lifted to see this courageous boy get to move on to such a well deserved and exciting new chapter. The biggest congrats to Josh, his devoted parents Emma and Stephen and his adoring sisters! 💛 pic.twitter.com/yuQLCwsVly

Leeds sign forward Noah Okafor on four-year deal from AC Milan

LEEDS HAVE SIGNED Switzerland forward Noah Okafor from AC Milan for a reported fee which could rise to £18million (€21m). Okafor, who spent the latter part of last season on loan at Serie A champions Napoli, is Leeds' ninth summer signing following promotion to the Premier League. The club said: 'Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Noah Okafor on a four-year contract, subject to a work permit and international clearance. 'The 25-year-old arrives at Elland Road on a permanent deal from Italian giants AC Milan and can operate across the forward areas on either wing, or as a central striker when required to do so.' Okafor's arrival is expected to end Leeds' interest in Tottenham winger Manor Solomon, who played a starring role for Daniel Farke's Championship-winning side on loan last season. Leeds have now spent around £92million in total on new players since ending their two-year top-flight absence. Farke, who also wants to add a full-back to his squad, confirmed last week following the arrival of Dominic Calvert-Lewin that he was hoping to further boost his attacking options and it remains to be seen whether Leeds are still in pursuit of another out-and-out striker. Okafor, who began his professional career at Basel, scored 34 goals and made 23 assists in 110 appearances for Salzburg before joining AC Milan in a €15.5m deal in July 2023. He scored seven goals and made five assists in two seasons at the Serie A club, which included his four-month loan spell at Napoli.

Niall Horan gets emotional revisiting beloved ground

Niall Horan has recently opened up about an emotional return to his beloved Pride Park – the home of Derby County. The former One Direction star is a huge Derby fan and shared how much he loves the club and the ground itself when he returned to watch them take on Coventry City on Saturday. Unfortunately for Niall, it wasn't a victorious return, although he did get to see a lot of goals in the Rams' 5-3 defeat to Frank Lampard's side. Niall Horan is a huge Derby County fan. Pic: GMCD Derby were 3-2 up with 20 minutes to go but couldn't hold on as Coventry sailed to victory, scoring three goals in seven minutes to claim all three points. Niall spoke about his long time support of the English side and revealed he used to get up at 4am to watch their matches while he was in the US. He told BBC Derby: 'I get very emotional about being here. I love this place. I love this ground. I love the vibe it gives off. I just love Derby County. Niall attempts to watch as many games as he can. Pic: Steve Galli/REX/Shutterstock 'I probably get here twice or three times a season, but get to a lot more away games. 'When we're on the road, I find it easier to make a quick train journey somewhere on a Friday night or a Saturday, maybe in London or something like that. Something that's a little bit closer to me. 'But I do spend a lot of time in the States and travelling and stuff like that. But I watch every single game on Rams TV for my sins sometimes, but I've been up early across the planet to watch the Rams. Won't miss a game.' Niall watched on as Derby lost 5-3 to Coventry. Pic: Jon Hobley/MI News/NurPhoto via Getty Images Niall went on to heap praise upon Derby manager John Eustace, who he believes in the best head coach in the EFL Championship. The singer continued: 'I love John, I think John Eustace is one of the best, if not the best, manager in the league. '(He's) one of the greatest British managers flying around. He's proving himself everywhere. He kept us up last season. He just needs to accumulate this team and make them look good. We've got a lot of injuries obviously, but today we were just sloppy. Unfortunately for Niall, it wasn't a victorious return, although he did get to see a lot of goals in the Rams' 5-3 defeat to Frank Lampard's side. Pic: GMCD 'I'm sure I won't be the only person to say that. We were all over the place. We didn't look energised, we didn't look like we could win a second ball. It was just very, very frustrating, but not a crazy day to be a Derby County fan. We've seen this before, and we'll be here again.' Niall's beloved side haven't had a great start to the new Championship season, losing 3-1 to Stoke City on the opening day before the defeat to Coventry. However, they did knock West Brom out of the EFL Cup in the first round on penalties. Derby have been drawn away to Premier League side Burnley in the second round, which will not be an easy task. Niall will be relieved that he still gets to watch Derby in the Championship after they narrowly avoided relegation to League One last season. The Rams' 0-0 draw with Stoke on the final day of the season was just enough to keep them up by a single point, but they rallied to win the two previous matches to escape the drop. Derby's late surge of form condemned Luton Town to back-to-back relegations. Niall will no doubt be keeping an eye on the side in their next Championship clash against Bristol City on Friday night.

What's at stake as Shamrock Rovers bid for another UEFA prize money bonanza

Having banked over €7million in UEFA prize money last year on their historic league phase run, and being among the final 24 teams in the Conference League, Shamrock Rovers hope once again to be in contention when the big money is on the line. And that is definitely the case once you get to the league phase of the competition, where a minimum of €3.8million is on offer. After that, it's up to how you do results-wise and how far you go. Last year, the Hoops picked up three wins, two draws and just one defeat - in their final league phase game away to Chelsea. Those results brought in an extra €1.2million for the wins (€400,000 per win), and €266,000 for the draws (€133,000 per draw), while their 10th place finish in a 36-team table added an extra €700,000 to their coffers, and progress to the play-offs after the league phase was worth another €200,000. Finally, they received another healthy sum when UEFA distributed TV money, taking their earnings last season over the €7million mark. This time around, UEFA have earmarked just over €300million in prize money for the Conference League - and once again Rovers can add to their bank balance if they qualify for the league phase by picking up wins and draws. As was the case last year, a win is worth an additional €400,000 and a draw will see clubs bank €133,000. Looking beyond the league phase, and making the post-Christmas play-offs would bring in another €200,000 and going straight to the last-16 is worth €800,000. A place in the quarter-finals is worth €1.3million, it's an additional €2.5million for the semi-finals, and getting to the final is worth either €4million (runner-up) or €7million. In total, last year's Conference League winners Chelsea cleared around €21million in prize money. Get the latest sports headlines straight to your inbox by signing up for free email .
