Jessie J emotional gig words hinted at star's cancer weeks before announcement

On Wednesday, Jessie said she made her diagnosis public to help her process the news, and to show solidarity with others who are going through a similar experience Singer Jessie J appeared to drop a huge hint about her cancer diagnosis last Price Tag star, 37, shocked fans this week by revealing she has early stage breast cancer and is holding on to the word 'early' and plans to undergo surgery after her performance at this month's Summertime Ball. The revelation made her words at her intimate North London concert on May 20 seem all the more poignant and significant. On Wednesday, Jessie said she made her diagnosis public to help her process the news, and to show solidarity with others who are going through a similar experience. "I just wanted to be open and share it, " she expressed. "One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. ‌ ‌ "I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse-that's the bit that kills me." She continued: "The timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time. "But honestly I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don't want this to be any different," she concluded. Just weeks earlier she told gig-goers at Union Chapel that she was putting herself first and wanted to have fun. Jessie said on stage: 'I know we are all going through our own battles in life, we are all struggling in our own way. We talk about it sometimes, and sometimes we don't. 'I'm grateful I have the voice and the strength to be able to put those experiences into songs that people can take and make them their own soundtrack to help them get through a tough time, a good time, a scary time.' When she introduced her new single No Secrets, she also seemed to be referencing her cancer battle. Jessie said: 'This song for me, more so than ever right now, is getting me through my life.' ‌ Earlier this week, the former Voice UK coach told her 13.9 million Instagram followers: 'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early' – cancer sucks in any form – but I'm holding on to the word 'early'. I have been in and out of tests this whole period.' No Secrets details Jessie's relationship with fame and her heartbreaking 2021 miscarriage, which she has since spoken openly about. Jessie, who is performing at Wembley Stadium next Sunday, told fans she would then 'disappear for a bit' to have surgery. ‌ But the singer said that despite her diagnosis, she still feels like she has found her 'happy ending'. Jessie and basketball player Chanan Colman welcomed their first child, son Sky, in May 2023. Talking about her song Sunflower, which is yet to be officially released, Jessie said: 'I wrote this song about my boy – the happiest boy in the world unless he hasn't had enough snacks. He is the love of my life, the joy of my day… I jump out of bed at 5am to make him something to eat and then wait for him to wake up. 'I never thought I would live this life… I prayed for it for so long. The joy it brings me is overwhelming. I hope anyone who has that same feeling in their heart gets their happy ending. It's magic.

This is the surname of her ex-husband, Will Weston, whom she wed in 2019. Despite the pair splitting in 2021, she appears to have legally retained his last name. The throwback snap in question was about the day that Daisy gave birth to her third child last year with new partner, Anthony Huggins. The snap was of Daisy's hospital visit to give birth to her son Benji in which her full name - Daisy May Weston - could be seen written on the board behind her. The Sun exclusively revealed earlier this year that Daisy and Anthony were secretly engaged. Despite retaining her ex-hubby's last name, it seems that Daisy is ready to move on and acquire a new one. The couple first met on dating app Hinge. A source said in February of this year: "Daisy and Anthony are madly in love with each other and are a success story for dating apps. "Their relationship has gone from strength to strength and already have a baby boy together. Best BBC comedies A BBC boss called on the industry to "save our sitcoms", but the corporation has a history of fantastic shows. We look back at some of the best to ever grace the screen. Fawlty Towers (1975-1979) - Only two series were made of the beloved institution. However, the cultural impact of the series starring John Cleese and Connie Booth spans decades. It follows rude and intolerant Basil Fawlty (Cleese) as he attempts to improve the reputation of his hotel. Only Fools and Horses (1981-2003) - The show was crowned by some as the best British sitcom of all time by a TV poll in 2004. Seven series were broadcast on BBC until 1991 with additional sporadic Christmas specials airing until 2003. Sir David Jason starred as ambitious market trader Derek "Del Boy" Trotter whilst Nicholas Lyndhurst played his younger half-brother Rodney. Set in working-class Peckham in south-east London, it follows the highs and lows of the lives of the Trotters', in particular their brazen attempts to get rich. Blackadder (1983 - 1989) - Four series were made of the iconic show, created by Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson. Each series spans a different historical period as anti-hero Edmund Blackadder (Atkinson) tries to better himself in each society. Accompanied by his dogsbody Baldrick (Tony Robinson), trouble always ensues. A TV poll in 2004 found that Blackadder was voted the second-best British sitcom of all time Absolutely Fabulous (1992 - 2012) - Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley star as failing PR guru Edina 'Eddie' Monsoon and alcoholic fashionista Patsy Stone. The pair embark on heavy-drinking sessions and abuse drugs in a desperate attempt to stay 'hip'. Eddie constantly chases bizarre fads and fails to lose weight whilst her disappointed and neglected daughter Saffy (Julia Sawalha) looks on. Little Britain (2003 - 2006) - The premise is simple. A sketch show which features different British people from all walks of life that are engaged in all sorts of comical scenarios. Starring Matt Lucas and David Walliams, the pair created iconic pop culture characters. Viewers loved obnoxious council estate teenager Vicky Pollard, morbidly obese scrounger Bubbles Devere, slimming coach Marjorie Dawes, despondent office worker Carol Beer, disgraced politician Sir Norman Fry, of course the iconic Lou and Andy! The Catherine Tate Show (2004-2015) - A sketch show starring the likes of Catherine Tate. She made iconic characters such as rowdy schoolgirl Lauren Cooper with her line 'Am I bovvered?'. Other characters featured Bernie the nurse, the aga saga woman, complaining couple Janice and Ray, and of course her infamous 'Nan', Joannie Taylor. The last character herself spawned multiple specials and even a movie. Gavin and Stacey (2007 - Present) The series tells the story of Gavin (Matthew Horne) and Stacey (Joanna Page). The pair embarked on an online and telephone romance for six months. But when they finally decide to be together properly, their friends and family get in the way. Ruth Jones and James Corden created the beloved show, which has been going for over a decade. The 2019 Christmas special was the most-watched comedy in 17 years and the most-viewed non-sporting event in a decade. 6 Daisy with first husband Will on their wedding day in 2019 Credit: Instagram 6 Daisy has become a comedy legend Credit: Getty

Mel B and Eddie Murphy 'understanding' as child changes pronouns to 'he/him'

Angel Iris Murphy Brown, who turned 18 in April, has changed pronouns to 'he/him' - and both parents, Mel B and Eddie Murphy, are said to be supportive of their child's decision Mel B and Eddie Murphy are said to be "understanding" and supportive of their child Angel who has changed pronouns to "he/him". The Spice Girls star and the American actor embarked on a whirlwind romance in 2006 and their bond was so strong that they went on to have each other's autographs tattooed on their thighs. After months of dating, Eddie proposed and Mel fell pregnant - and they welcomed Angel Iris Murphy Brown in April 2007. ‌ The pair then broke up and a bitter custody battle ensued, with Mel filing a paternity suit against Eddie to legally establish he was Angel's father and accused him of not paying for child support. However, both parents are now said to have a close relationship with Angel, who turned 18 this year. ‌ It has now emerged that Angel, who was born female, changed pronouns to "he/him" - and confirmed it in his Instagram biography. According to a source who spoke to Mail Online, both Mel and Eddie are supporting Angel: "It's a decision Angel made and Mel has been understanding, likewise Eddie. There was no big event to mark it. Angel just wanted it to be known what pronouns are now suitable." Marking Angel's 18th birthday in April, Scary Spice wrote: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY ANGEL !!! I cannot believe youre 18 You are so special and so bright and so talented!! I couldnt be prouder of watching you grow and become the person you are but youll forever be my babyyyy I hop you keep chasing yor dreams and be kind to everyone around you like you always have been my Angel Love you always." In the comment section of Mel's birthday post, Angel clarified that they now use "he/him" pronouns. "That second picture is exactly how old she was when I met her!! The only baby to look like she worked out at the gym! Cutest little thing," one commenter wrote, but another follower corrected them, saying, "*him / *he". After someone asked the person how they knew Angel's pronouns, Mel's child replied, "they are on my profile!" In addition to Angel, Mel is also mum to Phoenix and Madison, who have different fathers. Mel welcomed Phoenix with the dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1999, Angel with Eddie in 2007 and then Madison with the singer's then-husband Stephen Belafonte four years later. Eddie also has nine other children and is said to have a close relationship with all of them, as parenthood is his priority. ‌ During an interview with Vanity Fair in 2020, the actor said: "My career, or what I am as an artist, that's not at the centre of my life. At the centre of my life is my family and my kids. That's the principal relationship, and everything comes after that. I have 10 kids, and I'm present, and I'm part of their lives. "You got to have some kind of balance with career and personal life. I started making movies when I was 20, and I auditioned for SNL when I was 18, so that's 40 years ago. So I had a little crossroads where it was like, it's time to back off, and sit on the couch and just be dad."
