A PROPERTY developer has distributed 5,000 flags to more than 80 organisations, associations and government agencies in Seremban and Bandar Sri Sendayan, Negri Sembilan, as part of its Jalur Gemilang Raising campaign in conjunction with National Day.
Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd has also put up 1,000 Jalur Gemilang across its Bandar Sri Sendayan township, transforming the landscape into a striking showcase of national unity.
Matrix Concepts group executive director Kelvin Lee said the move reflected the company's strong commitment to fostering unity, national pride and a shared sense of belonging across all levels of society.
'The Jalur Gemilang is a powerful symbol of our shared identity,' he said in a statement.
'By bringing people together under the campaign, we hope to ignite the spirit of Merdeka and reinforce the values of harmony and belonging.'
The effort also reflected the developer's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 promoting inclusive and peaceful societies, Lee added.
Among the public sector recipients were Seremban City Council (MBS), Port Dickson Municipal Council, Royal Malaysian Air Force base in Sendayan, Negri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department headquarters and district police headquarters.
At the grassroots level, the campaign reached village development and security committees, religious institutions, 50 residents associations and Adcote Matrix Malaysia school.
Matrix Concepts in collaboration with MBS will also host the second annual Matrix Malaysia Day Run on Sept 13, at d'Tempat Country Club in Bandar Sri Sendayan.
The statement said the run was not only a celebration of fitness and health but also part of ongoing efforts to foster unity and community engagement in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

Minister: Emergency readiness key to Sarawak's aviation development

Lee (third right) receives a memento from Anuar (third left), as others look on. MIRI (Aug 12): Sarawak must strengthen its capacity to respond effectively to emergencies in line with the state's ongoing efforts to develop its aviation and transport infrastructure, said state Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin. Speaking at the official launch of the Joint Aeronautical Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX JASAR) 2025 here earlier today, he said that as Sarawak aspired to play a greater role within the national and regional aviation ecosystem, the Ministry of Transport Sarawak (MoTS) had begun shaping its long-term vision through the Sarawak Aviation and Aerospace Strategy. 'The vision includes enhancing regional emergency preparedness and inter-agency coordination, particularly for offshore and remote area operations. 'It also involves strengthening aviation infrastructure, regulatory alignment, human capital development, and exploring long-term opportunities in aerospace education, aircraft maintenance, and sustainable aviation initiatives, such as research on alternative fuels,' he said. Lee emphasised that while the strategy was still being formalised, exercises like SAREX JASAR were critical building blocks that could help identify the gaps, validate protocols, and build operational experience to guide future policies and investments in aviation safety and aerospace readiness. Lee also highlighted the importance of offshore aviation safety, particularly for the oil and gas sector – one of the nation's most important economic pillars. 'A robust search-and-rescue (SAR) capability, rapid response systems, and well-coordinated multi-agency support are essential to sustaining operations in this high-risk and high-value industry,' he said. He also acknowledged the crucial roles of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and the Sarawak Security and Enforcement Unit (UKPS). On SAREX JASAR 2025, Lee described it as 'not only a drill, but also a demonstration of Sarawak's commitment to aviation safety, the protection of our critical industries, and the pursuit of long-term aerospace development'. He also expressed appreciation to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), Shell Malaysia, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), and the 23 other participating agencies including government departments, enforcement bodies, regulators, airport and air operators, and key players from Malaysia's oil and gas industry , for jointly holding the event. 'I was informed that the exercise involved more than 300 personnel from 23 organisations. This strong multi-agency participation is a clear testament to our united commitment to advancing Malaysia's offshore aviation and SAR readiness,' he said. Among those present were CAAM chief executive officer Dato Capt Norazman Mahmud, CAAM Air Navigation Services Operations Division director Khairul A'amali Ismail, and Petronas senior general manager Anuar Ismail. aviation development emergency response lead Lee Kim Shin

Experian brings industry veterans, youths in CSR walk

KUALA LUMPUR: Experian Malaysia says its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme "Leaders on the Walk" has drawn strong turnout and impact. The CSR event bridged the gap between industry veterans and next generation of leaders. The global data and technology company said the event saw an unprecedented convergence of over 20 prominent C-suite and industry leaders walking with over 300 university students, fresh graduates, early career professionals and budding people managers over a dynamic five-kilometre route. "The initiative effectively bridged the gap and broke the barriers between seasoned leadership and emerging talent, fostering direct mentorship and invaluable dialogue outside traditional, formal settings," Experian said. The event, which is a first of its kind, took place at the majestic Perdana Botanical Garden. Experian Malaysia country head and HR director Chua Chai Ping said the event truly embodied the spirit of Merdeka, allowing established leaders to 'give back' to the future talents of our nation. Chua said "Leaders on the Walk" is not envisioned as a one-off activity, but marks the start of a longer-term mentorship ecosystem, designed to continuously nurture and empower future leaders in Malaysia. "Experian Malaysia, with the support from our partners from GBS Networking Circle and Pikom-GBS Malaysia, is eager to build on this success and remain dedicated to championing leadership development and nation-building initiatives for years to come," she added.
