Qcomm platforms boost promotions with curated offerings for Independence Day, Janmashtami
For Independence Day, rapid-delivery platforms are offering a range of tricolour-themed products, including decorative items, the Indian flag and apparel in the colours of the national flag.
Similarly, for Janmashtami, companies have introduced offerings such as clothes for Krishna idols, peacock feathers, and other pooja-related products. Traditional sweets commonly associated with the festival are also available through these services, often in discounted combo packs. There are also fasting-related food items, story books on Krishna, and instant guides for poojas.
Industry experts have highlighted the growing trend of consumers relying on quick commerce for last-minute festive shopping due to speed and convenience. Quick commerce companies also see festive occasions and major sports and entertainment events as an opportunity to attract customers with curated assortments specific to these events. For instance, customers send chocolates and gift items for Valentine's Day, Father's Day, Mother's Day, or Friendship Day, and festive goods for festivals such as Eid, Christmas, Holi, or Dhanteras.
ET reported on August 9 that quick commerce platforms saw a rise in orders for rakhis and gifts on Raksha Bandhan. With the festive season around the corner, the platforms are going beyond fast delivery and attractive offers, and increasing their stock-keeping units (SKUs) to provide a wider selection of items. Insiders told us that platforms such as Instamart and Flipkart Minutes are seeing a significant trend of consumers planning their festive purchases in advance, not just relying on last-minute shopping.

City exudes patriotic charm as depts, units celebrate I-Day with fervour
Visakhapatnam: Marking the 79th Independence Day celebrations, district machinery, companies, organisations and associations teamed up to spread patriotism and promote brotherhood in Visakhapatnam on Friday. Taking part in the Independence Day celebrations, Revenue Minister Anagani Satyaprasad stated that the NDA government is developing Visakhapatnam on all fronts. He highlighted the achievements made by the State government in the past one-and-a-half years, schemes implemented and progress made in the period. As many as 375 officials belonging to various departments and companies received 'Prathibha Puraskar' on the occasion. As part of the I-Day celebrations, APEPDCL CMD Prudhvi Tej Immadi received 'Pratibha Puraskar' from the Revenue Minister. Several organisations and departments came together to celebrate the occasion by hoisting flags and delivering patriotic lectures. As part of the I-Day celebrations, Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervor at the Port Golden Jubilee Stadium. M Angamuthu, chairperson, VPA, unfurled the national flag. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) contingent of VPA presented a guard of honour, followed by a parade inspection and salute by the chairperson. In his address, Angamuthu reaffirmed VPA's commitment to strengthening its engagement with the citizens of Visakhapatnam by developing essential infrastructure that benefits both the port and the local community. Similarly, Srinivas Muppaala, Zonal Development Commissioner, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ), hoisted the tricolour flag in the premises of VSEZ. Speaking on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day celebrations, he recalled the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. KDCC Bank pays tributes to freedom fighters
Vijayawada: TheKrishna District Cooperative Central Bank (KDCC Bank) celebrated the 79th Independence Day with an event at its Vijayawada Regional Office. The ceremony began with former Minister and KDCC Bank chairman, Nettem Raghuram, paying tribute to national leaders by garlanding their portraits. In his address, Raghuram emphasised the significance of Independence Day, stating, 'This day is the sacred fruit of the great souls who gave their youth, their blood, and their lives for freedom. Freedom lives in every farmer's field, in every worker's sweat, and in every student's dream,' he said. He added that the current generation's goal should be to build a nation free of corruption and backwardness, and to become a technologically strong role model for the world. The Chairman also highlighted the bank's services and progress, particularly its focus on the farming community. The bank, with its 57 branches and 425 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, is expanding its services under the new government. Chairman Raghuram concluded by stating that the government, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is working tirelessly for the welfare of farmers and that the bank will continue to support them. The event was attended by NABARD DGM Milin Sou Laskar, General Manager Ranga Babu, and other dignitaries.
