Seventeen donated $250,000 to UNESCO on International Youth Day, its agency Pledis Entertainment said Wednesday. The donation was raised through the charity auction 'Joopiter Presents: Sacai X Seventeen' and will fund the Global Youth Grant Scheme launched in collaboration with the organization. The group was nominated as the first-ever UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Youth last year, and upon its nomination, donated $1 million to support the joint effort. 'This will support young people to pursue their dreams around the world. And we're so proud to stand with youth everywhere,' Joshua said on behalf of the band. Meanwhile, Seventeen is slated to kick off its international tour 'New_' on Sept. 13-14 in Incheon. The tour will continue in Hong Kong later that month, and in October, the group will visit five cities in the US.

Seventeen's S.Coups, Mingyu to form subunit: report

and Mingyu of Seventeen are gearing up to roll out an album as a duo next month, according to a local media report Monday. The two finished shooting a music video for the focus track to front the upcoming set in Los Angeles, where they were spotted at a Dodgers game last week. Agency Pledis Entertainment confirmed the news following the report. The pair will become the fourth subunit, following BSS (Seungkwan, Dogyeom and Hoshi), Junghan X Wonwoo and Hoshi X Woozi. Also in September, the band will kick off the 'New_' tour in Incheon. Only nine members out of 13 will join, however, as four would be serving their mandatory military duties. After the two-day show, it will fly over to the US and have 10 live shows in five cities.

Seventeen to tour US in October

Pledis Entertainment announced on Tuesday plans for Seventeen's US tour. Nine of the group's 13 members will travel to five cities in the country — Tacoma, Los Angeles, Austin, Sunrise and Washington D.C. — for 10 live shows from Oct. 11 to 30. The five-city trip will be part of its 'New_' international tour that will kick off in Incheon on Sept. 13. Following the American stages, the group will begin the Japan leg of the tour, with 10 performances across 4 major domes. In May, Seventeen celebrated its decade-long career with its fifth full album 'Happy Burstday,' which entered Billboard 200 at No. 2, its seventh back-to-back entry among the top ten on the main albums chart. The LP sold over 2.5 million copies and swept all major music charts at home as well as Oricon's Daily, Weekly and Weekly Combined Album Rankings.
