Lance Stroll to return for Canadian Grand Prix after ‘successful medical procedure'
Lance Stroll will return for this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix after undergoing a 'successful medical procedure' following pain in his hand and wrist.
The Canadian, 26, missed the Spanish Grand Prix last time out but Aston Martin confirmed his return to the car in time for his home race in Montreal on Sunday.

'We are pleased to confirm that Lance Stroll will be back with the team competing in Montreal this weekend,' a team statement read on Wednesday.
'He had a successful medical procedure to resolve the symptoms he has been experiencing and completed some laps in an old F1 car at Paul Ricard earlier this week.
'Lance is feeling fit and healthy, and is excited to compete in front of his home crowd.'
Stroll added: 'I am excited to get back behind the wheel with the team for my home Grand Prix this weekend. I was always going to fight hard to be ready to race in front of the Montreal crowd.
'I'm feeling good after my procedure and put some laps in at Paul Ricard this week to prepare. Thanks for all the support, see you guys this weekend.'
Stroll has made 174 starts in Formula 1 since joining the grid with Williams in 2017. He switched to Racing Point in 2019 before the team rebranded to Aston Martin in 2021.
He has three career podiums and finished 13th in the drivers' standings last season. This year, he sits 12th after nine races.

Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth thinks that's exactly what they're going to get. 'Aaron, I can see on film where he's expecting you to be somewhere, and if he trusts you, he's gonna throw it to that spot and go let you make a play. However, Freiermuth thinks his football IQ and experience is what will make the biggest defense for the Steelers offense, which has struggled mightily since Roethlisberger retired following the 2021 season. 'He sees the game in a certain way,' Freiermuth said. 'If we can get on that same page to seeing where he sees the defenses and where he wants the routes to go and the ball placement and stuff, the quicker we can do that, the quicker the offense is gonna go.' Tucker believes the Steelers are hoping for a Brett Favre-like 2009 season from Rodgers. Favre, who at age 40, passed for 4,202 yards, 33 touchdown and seven interceptions in 2009. He also had a career-best 107.2 quarterback rating. Favre led Minnesota to the NFC Championship, coming up just short 31-28 against the New Orleans Saints. First, it was expected that Rodgers was going to sign with Pittsburgh (eventually). It really wasn't a secret. He's an upgrade from Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, but he does not elevate the Steelers into the Super Bowl contenders category. Despite narratives that Rodgers is washed, it's hard to dispute that he's not the best quarterback the Steelers have had since Ben Roethlisberger retired after the 2021 season. Since 2022, Rodgers has 54 passing touchdowns. In that same time frame, the Steelers have had only 46 touchdown passes. Rodgers also had only one pass attempt in 2023 before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.
