UPSC releases final result for CDS Exam II 2024: 574 candidates qualify for OTA

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the final merit list for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) - II today, May 23. A total of 574 candidates (510 men and 64 women) have qualified for the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. Candidates can view the merit list available on the official website upsc.gov.in.
A total of 295 vacancies are there: 276 vacancies for the 122nd SSC (NT) Course for Men and 19 vacancies for the 36th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course.

Among those to be honoured is Ajay V Bhatt, the visionary behind the revolutionary Universal Serial Bus (USB) technology, who was awarded the Padma Shri for his contributions to science and technology. Bhatt is an alumnus of MSU's Faculty of Technology and Engineering. The university will also felicitate Ratan Kumar Parimoo, a nonagenarian artist and eminent art historian closely associated with the Faculty of Fine Arts. In addition, Suresh Harilal Soni, founder of the Sabarkantha-based Sahyog Trust, will be honoured for his tireless efforts in supporting people with leprosy and physical disabilities. The ceremony will also recognize two remarkable UPSC achievers: Harshita Goyal, who secured AIR 2 in the civil services examination and Bhavesh Royda, who attained AIR 86 in the Indian Forest Service examination. "The university community will come together to celebrate the inspiring journeys and accomplishments of these individuals," said a university official.

This year's exam took place from February 4 to February 25, 2025, with the provisional answer key released on March 4, 2025. The selection process for SSC GD Constable comprises three main stages: a written examination, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST), and a medical examination. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had updated the provisional vacancies for Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in the NCB Examination, 2025. The recruitment drive will now fill a total of 53,690 positions.
