Consular aid for M'sians set on fire in Bangkok
Both victims are being treated in separate hospitals following the incident on Aug 7, the ministry said in a statement.
The embassy is liaising with the attending medical teams and facilitating travel for the victims' family members, Bernama reported.
Consular officers have visited the victims and are working to ensure they and their families receive the necessary support.
The ministry said Thai authorities are conducting a full investigation into the incident.
It was reported that the two Malaysian tourists, a man identified as Ong, 26, and a woman known as Gan, 27, were critically injured after being set on fire by a man in Thailand's capital.

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 10 — The body of a 17-year-old boy was found floating in Putrajaya Lake this morning. Putrajaya police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed said the body was discovered by members of the public at 7.50 am. 'A witness who was passing by the area swam and pulled the body to the bank,' he said in a statement today. He said initial investigations found no criminal elements, and the case was classified as a sudden death. MCMC records statement over false content about Zara Qairina's case
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has recorded a statement from an individual over false content circulated on social media in connection with the late Zara Qairina Mahathir's case. In a statement, MCMC said the person was summoned to the Cheras police headquarters on Saturday (Aug 9), where a mobile phone and a SIM card were also seized to assist investigations. "The content is believed to contain false information touching on 3R issues (race, religion and royalty), which could cause public confusion and disrupt the authorities' investigation,' the statement read. The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 [Act 588], which carries a maximum fine of RM500,000, up to two years' imprisonment, or both, upon conviction. MCMC also urged the public to allow the investigation process to run its course and to be wary of speculative content that could mislead the public. "The spread of unverified information not only risks hurting the feelings of the victim's family but also breaches ethical values and may interfere with the course of justice,' the commission said. Zara Qairina, 13, was pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in Kota Kinabalu on July 17, a day after she was found unconscious in a drain near the dormitory of a religious school in Papar around 4am.
