Jamshedpur, Jun 23 (PTI) Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday said the people of Bihar will not allow the return of 'jungle raj' that, he claimed, existed during the regime of former CM Lalu Prasad.
To a question on the forthcoming polls, the senior BJP leader asserted, 'The people will support the NDA, and we are 200 per cent confident that a government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be formed in Bihar.' Asked about the Jan Suraaj Party founded by political strategist Prashant Kishor and its claims of forming the next government, Singh dismissed them, saying, 'Even Independent candidates contesting elections make such claims.' He added, 'The people of Bihar are politically mature. They will not make the mistake of bringing back a government of anarchy like that of Lalu Prasad's.' Upon his arrival in the steel city, Singh was given a warm welcome by the BJP's Jamshedpur Mahanagar Committee, led by its president Sudhansu Ojha, at the Circuit House.
The minister also criticised the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government, accusing it of neglecting the interests of tribal communities.
'Despite being a tribal himself, Soren appears more inclined towards Bangladeshi infiltrators than towards the tribals of Jharkhand,' Singh alleged.
He further claimed that the demographic profile of over a dozen districts in Jharkhand has changed due to unchecked infiltration from across the border.

Stalin on Monday reiterated his case against the nation-wide entrance examination for admission in undergraduate medical programmes. In a social media post, Mr. Stalin said: 'Yet another case that proves NEET isn't about merit; it's only about the market. That's why we're saying it loud and clear, #NEETisnotNEAT, and we have every reason to.' Referring to claims that NEET was about quality, Mr. Stalin charged that it was only about money right from the beiginning to the end of the NEET process. 'The NEET exam process is moral corruption in itself. In addition, there are irregularities in every level right from the question paper to the examination hall to the exam results,' Mr. Stalin charged. Taking a swipe at the AIADMK, an ally of the BJP, Mr. Stalin said: 'The AIADMK men, who have time to sit as showpiece in the RSS-BJP conferences, do not have time to raise this with their bosses.'
