The Star30-05-2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Versatile Creative Bhd 's 51%-owned subsidiary, NSK Grocer (KL) Sdn Bhd, has proposed to acquire a leasehold land and building comprising a two-storey retail mall and basement carpark at Plaza Pelangi Astana in Petaling Jaya for RM25.85mil.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Versatile said NSK entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Empire Benefit Sdn Bhd, which is currently undergoing liquidation, for the acquisition.
Versatile said the purchase price would be financed through a mix of internally generated funds and/or bank borrowings, with the exact allocation yet to be decided.
'The proposed property acquisition is in line with NSK's strategic growth plan to expand its retail footprint in high-density and commercially strategic urban communities.
'The property's location and configuration are suitable for enhancing operational capacity and long-term value creation,' it said.

Colts OTs Braden Smith, Blake Freeland leave with injuries

The Colts saw a pair of offensive tackles leave Saturday's game against the Packers with injuries. Right tackle Braden Smith suffered a groin injury and the Colts announced that he would not return to the contest. The Colts opened the game without left tackle Bernhard Raimann as he is out due to an undisclosed injury and Smith's replacement was also forced out of the game. Blake Freeland had to be carted off after a running play in the second quarter. He appeared to suffer an injury to his lower left leg when a Packers player fell into it and the entire team surrounded him on the field as trainers stabilized the leg prior to his departure. Losing Freeland would leave fourth-round pick Jalen Travis as the top option behind Raimann and Smith, so the Colts will be hoping for some positive news regarding the outlook for those two players as they move toward Week 1.

Phillies closer Jhoan Duran fine a day after taking liner off right ankle

WASHINGTON (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies closer Jhoan Duran described himself as '100 percent' on Saturday, a day after he left a 6-2 victory over Washington after taking a line drive off his right ankle. 'I'm normal, like nothing happened,' Duran said. The right-hander, who has four saves in five scoreless appearances since he was acquired in a trade with Minnesota last month, was hit by Paul DeJong's leadoff shot in the ninth inning Friday. Duran limped off to foul territory and eventually was taken off the field by the Nationals' bullpen cart. Manager Rob Thomson said X-rays were negative Friday and declared Duran 'good to go' Saturday. 'He actually walked out to the bus pretty good, and then he came in normal,' Thomson said. Thomson also said the Phillies plan to activate third baseman Alec Bohm on Sunday. Bohm went on the injured list July 19 with a fractured left rib. He is hitting .278 with eight homers and 42 RBIs.
