Billie Eilish's brother Finneas tear-gassed at protest in Los Angeles

Billie Eilish's brother Finneas has claimed that he was tear-gassed by the National Guard at a 'very peaceful' protest in Los Angeles.
The singer-songwriter, 27, took to social media to detail his experience, sharing his message to more than four million followers on Instagram.
'Tear gassed almost immediately at the very peaceful protest downtown – they're inciting this,' he wrote.
The musician had attended a protest against the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department's operations in Los Angeles over the weekend.
The protests, which began on Friday and carried on through until Sunday, saw numerous people stage a peaceful demonstration, campaigning against ICE's raids of several workplaces in Los Angeles for alleged immigration violations.
President Donald Trump authorised the deployment of the National Guard in response.
On Sunday, Finneas wrote on an Instagram Story: 'F**k ICE.'
His next post saw him repost a message to National Guard and military personnel who do not wish to partake in Trump's order: 'If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the Constitutional rights of US citizens, then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support, you don't have to go through with it.'
Several celebrities have banded together to criticise ICE and the military reaction to protests across Los Angeles, including Eva Longoria and Chrissy Teigen.
On X, Longoria shared a post from California Governor Gavin Newsom, which criticises Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over his threat to deploy active-duty Marines in response to the protests.
Newsom described the threat as 'deranged behaviour,' while Longoria added that it was 'Un-American' while also sharing a video of a woman being separated from her child during an ICE raid.
Teigen shared various posts in support of the protests on her Instagram Stories, including a link to a mass protest on June 14.
Massive raids are underway in major cities across the US as part of Trump's pledge to arrest 3,000 suspected illegal immigrants per day.
One in Los Angeles descended into chaos, as counterprotests led to multiple arrests, allegedly without warrants.
Two Home Depot stores, a clothing shop called Ambient Apparel, and other locations were raided by ICE agents in the predominantly Latino city of Paramount.
The President issued an executive order, posted to the White House website, outlining Trump's plan to prevent undocumented immigrants from 'invading' communities and costing state and local governments.
And a policy which previously restricted officers' abilities to arrest undocumented immigrants at 'sensitive' locations, such as schools, churches and hospitals, was rolled back.

Ex-Trump comm director's claim about Newsom's political future

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci made a wild claim about California Gov. Gavin Newsom 's political future amid his clash with President Donald Trump over this weekend's riots in Los Angeles . Newsom continued to taunt Trump Monday afternoon after the president returned to the White House and threatened to arrest the Democratic California governor. Scaramucci has supported Democrats, including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, since his brief tenure in the first Trump White House. 'Gavin has the guts to stand up to these wannabe authoritarians. I will give him that,' Scaramucci posted Sunday night. Scaramucci highlighted a post from Newsom saying that Trump sending 2,000 National Guard troops into Los Angeles County was 'not to meet an unmet need, but to manufacture a crisis.' 'He's hoping for chaos so he can justify more crackdowns, more fear, more control. Stay calm. Never use violence. Stay peaceful,' Newsom said. On Monday Scaramucci reposted Newsom's demand to have the California National Guard returned to the governor's authority. 'I have formally requested the Trump Administration rescind their unlawful deployment of troops in Los Angeles county and return them to my command. We didn't have a problem until Trump got involved,' the Democrat said. 'The President of the United States just called for the arrest of a sitting Governor. This is a day I hoped I would never see in America. I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican this is a line we cannot cross as a nation - this is an unmistakable step toward authoritarianism,' Newsom wrote after Trump made his threat on the South Lawn. Newsom was the one Democratic candidate Trump feared when running against Biden - and later Harris - in the 2024 race, according to Alex Isenstadt's book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump's Return to Power . The ex-president worried that Biden could drop out of the race cuing a Democratic primary. Instead Biden dropped out of the race so late that the party quickly got behind Harris. 'One person he had been worried about was California Governor Gavin Newsom. Always fixated on visuals, Trump thought the handsome, hair-gelled governor was "slick" and the future of the Democratic Party,' Isenstadt wrote. Trump was also annoyed that Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity woud keep having Newsom on his primetime show, Isenstadt said. But in November of 2023, Newsom debated Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who was running against Trump in the Republican primary.

Homan reveals the truth on how LA riots started

Donald Trump 's border czar, Tom Homan, revealed that the raids that sparked the violent LA riots were not for immigration purposes. Homan explained that the raids that took place in downtown Los Angeles on Friday were part of a criminal investigation into a money laundering scheme and cartel activity. 'It wasn't an immigration raid. It was to service of three criminal warrants at locations based on a large criminal conspiracy that ICE is investigating,' Homan on MSNBC . 'That's why no one is talking about the Fashion District, it wasn't an immigration raid. It was to service of three criminal warrants at locations based on a large criminal conspiracy that ICE is investigating,' Homan said. 'That has to do with money laundering, tax evasion and customs fraud where a company under-declared over $80 million in goods, failed to pay $17 million in fees.' 'And it's part of an overall conspiracy on numerous businesses that they believe that some of this money is being laundered in Mexico and Colombia, the cartel activity.' Homan noted the raids were no unsolicited migrant round-ups, but specific arrests were made based on warrants. 'So, this was a criminal investigation that they all responded to in the beginning. That's how it all started. But the facts never got out,' he said.
