Aaron Rodgers Contract Dubbed 'Major Bargain' for Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers Contract Dubbed 'Major Bargain' for Pittsburgh Steelers originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Pittsburgh Steelers finally got their guy. After months of speculation and strange conjecture about where Aaron Rodgers would or wouldn't play, he's finally put pen to paper for the black and gold. Advertisement While his skills and mobility may have diminished a bit, the $13.65 million the Steelers are paying him for 2025 still seems like a bargain. Even if he somehow reaches the contract's full potential of $19.5 million seems like a deal for the team. And PFT's Mike Florio agrees. "It's still not known how Rodgers can pump up his pay from $13.65 million to $19.5 million. There's talk that one factor to unlock the maximum package is winning the Super Bowl," Florio wrote. "The full amount, if he earns it, will still be less than what Justin Fields will make this year ($20 million). Which, for a player of Rodgers's capabilities, gives the Steelers a huge advantage. "It also saves millions in cash and cap dollars for other players. Whether it means they'll use the money to pay linebacker T.J. Watt or sign an available skill-position player (like running back J.K. Dobbins) or trade for a receiver (like Allen Lazard) or be ready to make a deal prior to the Week 9 deadline remains to be seen." The key here is that they're getting a top-tier quarterback (we think) for second- or third-tier money. And that's a lot less than what they could've spent elsewhere. Advertisement And it gives the Steelers room to add some pieces around Rodgers if it chooses to do so - and it should. Chipotle Finally Adds Southwest Ranch to Menu
Ranch is officially coming to the Chipotle menu. While many other burrito chains throughout the country have embraced creamy, southwest-style ranch sauces on their menus, Chipotle has long resisted such a move. But it sounds like that's officially changing this month. On Monday, Chipotle officially announced the launch of Adobo Ranch, which is the company's own twist on the beloved American dressing and dip. Made fresh in-house with fresh ingredients, the new sauce features 'adobo pepper, sour cream and a unique blend of herbs and spices,' which the company said brings a "craveable kick to the brand's signature burritos, bowls, salads, tacos and quesadillas." The company expects the new sauce to be particularly popular amongst its younger customers. "Ranch has become a cultural phenomenon, especially among Gen Z, who are finding creative ways to enjoy it beyond the traditional salad," said Chris Brandt, President and Chief Brand Officer said in a news release. "Our new Adobo Ranch taps into this passion, giving fans a craveworthy way to customize their Chipotle order with a completely new flavor." Adobo Ranch will be officially coming to all Chipotle locations across the U.S. and Canada starting Tuesday, June 17, and the company even announced that Chipotle Rewards members will be able to try the new sauce for free on launch day. Most of Aaron Rodgers's incentives are unrealistic
The one-year, $13.65 million deal signed over the weekend by quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a great deal for the Steelers. And if Rodgers cashes in on the full $5.85 million incentive package, it will have been an incredible deal. To get there, the Steelers have to win the Super Bowl. Advertisement Albert Bree of has the details. To be eligible for any of the payments, Rodgers must participate in 70 percent of the offensive snaps in the regular season. If that is threshold is satisfied, here's what he'll get: If the Steelers make the playoffs: $500,000. If they earn a first-round bye or if they win in the wild-card round with Rodgers taking at least half of the snaps: $600,000. If they win in the divisional round and Rodgers takes at least half of the snaps: $750,000. If they win the AFC Championship and Rodgers takes at least half of the snaps: $1 million. If they win the Super Bowl and Rodgers takes at least half of the snaps: $1.5 million. Advertisement If Rodgers wins the regular-season MVP award: $1.5 million. More than half of the incentives — $3 million — are tied to winning the Super Bowl and Rodgers becoming the league MVP. That seems unlikely, to put it mildly. Even getting to the Super Bowl feels like a stretch. And that's another $1 million. The most realistically optimistic outcome seems to be getting to the AFC Championship and meeting the various play-time incentives and earning another $1.85 million. But, yes, paying out $19.5 million would be perhaps the best veteran quarterback contract ever signed by a team, because it will mean that the Steelers received the services of the league's MVP — and more importantly that they won the Super Bowl.
