Texas A&M freshman WR shines during Maroon & White spring game.
And just like that, the annual Texas A&M Maroon & White spring football game is over, and there were a few standout underclassmen who could work their way onto the field next season.
It can be tough to evaluate players for several reasons. First, there is no true first-string roster on the field. Second, the ruleset limits the ability of the quarterbacks to extend certain plays due to the tight abundance of caution on quarterback safety. Lastly, there is an extremely vanilla playbook that does allow for a lot of creativity or no huddle. With that being said, we still have some players who shine on the offensive side of the ball.
One player that caught everyone's eye was redshirt freshman Izaiah Williams. The wide receiver out of Florida saw limited playing time on the field last season, only logging one catch for 15 yards, but out of high school, he was known for his speed and athleticism. Those traits were on full display during the Spring game, with him hauling in several contested catches and being the most dynamic playmaker on the White squad.
With the wide receiver room looking to fill in depth pieces behind KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, Williams had a case to be on the field for the 2025 season. College football is constantly changing, but the future looks bright for the Texas A&M receiver room for years to come.

Clemson makes a huge move in the transfer portal landing shortstop Tyler Lichtenberger
Clemson makes a huge move in the transfer portal landing shortstop Tyler Lichtenberger Clemson baseball has landed one of its first portal additions of the offseason. App State shortstop Tyler Lichtenberger has committed to the Tigers after making a visit to campus on Thursday, according to multiple sources. The standout freshman brings immediate impact potential after an impressive debut season in Boone. Lichtenberger was named Sun Belt Freshman of the Year in 2025, hitting .341 with 13 doubles, three home runs, two triples and 44 RBIs. He recorded 24 multi-hit games, reached base in 46 of 52 regular-season contests—including the first 34 games of the year—and also swiped seven bases in nine attempts. His 70 hits ranked among the top 10 in the conference. With Andrew Ciufo exhausting his eligibility, Clemson had a clear need at shortstop heading into next season. While incoming freshman Dax Kilby is a highly regarded option, there's a strong chance he's selected in July's MLB Draft, potentially opening the door for Lichtenberger to step into a starting role right away.
