Dickinson, Eyanson help LSU beat Arkansas-Little Rock 7-0 at Baton Rouge Regional
BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Daniel Dickinson hit two home runs, Anthony Eyanson pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings and LSU beat Little Rock 7-0 on Friday night in the opening game of the Baton Rouge Regional.
No. 6 national seed LSU (43-15), making it 13th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 37th overall, plays the winner between Rhode Island and Dallas Baptist on Saturday. Little Rock takes on the loser in an elimination game.
Eyanson (10-2) gave up five hits and had seven strikeouts.
Arkansas-Little Rock (24-33) lost four straight to close the regular season before winning five straight to clinch the program's first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title and its second NCAA Tournament berth.
Derek Curiel led off the first with a single off Jackson Wells (3-7), advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a two-out single by Jake Brown and the Tigers never trailed.
Chris Stanfield singled and moved to second on a wild pitch before Jared Jones hit a two-out RBI single to make it 2-0 in the second and Dickinson's first homer made it 3-0 in the fifth.
Curiel hit an RBI double and scored on Dickinson's second shot in the sixth. Michael Braswell III added an RBI double in the seventh that made it 7-0.

Associated Press A sports bettor who heckled Olympic champion sprinter Gabby Thomas during a Grand Slam Track event in Philadelphia over the weekend has been banned by the betting site FanDuel Sportsbook. In a statement sent to The Associated Press on Wednesday, FanDuel wrote it "condemns in the strongest terms abusive behavior directed towards athletes. She wrote: "This grown man followed me around the track as I took pictures and signed autographs for fans (mostly children) shouting personal insults — anybody who enables him online is gross.' Grand Slam Track, a track league launched by Hall of Fame sprinter Michael Johnson this spring, wrote in a statement it was "conducting a full investigation into the reprehensible behavior captured on video. 'We are working to identify the individual involved and will take appropriate action as necessary. We will implement additional safeguards to help prevent incidents like this in the future. Let us be clear, despicable behavior like this will not be tolerated.' ESPN first reported the bettor had been banned by FanDuel. The Grand Slam Track season wraps up with the fourth and final meet in Los Angeles on June 28-29. The Thomas incident is the latest in a string of stalking and abuse of female athletes. Frida Karlsson, a Swedish cross-country skiing world champion, recently brought her experience with stalking into public view when she went through a trial. A man in his 60s was given a suspended sentence and ordered to pay 40,000 kronor ($4,100) in damages after being convicted of stalking Karlsson for a year and four months, according to Swedish news agency TT. The man, according to the indictment, called Karlsson 207 times, left her voicemails and text messages and approached her, including outside her apartment. In February, police in the United Arab Emirates detained a man who caused British tennis player Emma Raducanu distress by exhibiting ' fixated behavior ' toward he at a tennis tournament. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Leaders in San Francisco are blasting the Trump administration for stripping the name of gay rights activist Harvey Milk from a U.S. naval ship, and especially during Pride Month, when people gather to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Milk is a revered figure in San Francisco history, a former city supervisor and gay rights advocate who was fatally shot along with Mayor George Moscone in 1978 by disgruntled former supervisor Dan White. Just last month, California marked what would have been Milk's 95th birthday with proclamations heralding his authenticity, kindness and calls for unity. He served for four years in the Navy during the Korean War, before he was forced out for being gay. Milk later moved to San Francisco, where he became one of the first out gay politicians in the world with his election to the Board of Supervisors in 1977. Cleve Jones, a close friend and LGBTQ+ activist, dismissed the renaming as an attempt by the Trump administration to distract the American public from far more serious concerns, including the ongoing war in Gaza and looming cuts to Medicaid and Social Security. "Yes, this is cruel and petty and stupid, and yes, it's an insult to my community," Jones said. 'I would be willing to wager a considerable sum that American families sitting around that proverbial kitchen table this evening are not going to be talking about how much safer they feel now that Harvey's name is going to be taken off that ship.' The Pentagon has not confirmed news of the renaming, a highly rare move, but unnamed officials say the change was laid out in an internal memo. It is in keeping with attempts by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the broader Trump administration to purge all programs, policies, books and social media mentions of references to diversity, equity and inclusion. BYU men's basketball is building a non-conference schedule to match the program's high expectations for the 2025-26 season. The game will reportedly be in late October and will be the second of BYU's two preseason exhibitions. The Cougars will also travel to Nebraska as part of a home-and-home exhibition series.
