Distraught pal of two Brit tourists, 27 & 29, found them ‘lifeless' in Algarve holiday pool after ‘non-swimmers' drowned
The 27 and 29-year-olds, both believed to be "non-swimmers", were found "lifeless" in the water in the popular Portuguese resort of Albufeira.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the scene around 4.30am on Tuesday but were unable to save the pair.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops are now said to be working on the theory the pair got into difficulties after jumping into the pool because they had been drinking and didn't know how to swim.
There were no signs of foul play.
The pool, located in an unnamed apartment complex, is said to be open between 8am and 9pm.
The owner of one of the apartments told Portuguese daily Correio da Manha: 'They were with a group of friends.
'It was one of them who found them in the swimming pool.'
Police have already spoken to the distraught pal who made the grim discovery as part of the ongoing probe.
For now, the deaths are being treated as accidental while authorities await post-mortem results.
Portugal's Policia Judiciaria has been asked to assist in the case by GNR officers, as is standard when a death involves foreign nationals or unclear circumstances.
The two British men have not yet been publicly identified.
The latest tragedy adds to a string of recent tourist deaths in the party hotspot, which has sparked concern among locals and officials alike.
A number of Brits have lost their lives in Portugal in recent months.
In June, a tourist was found dead in the Portuguese party resort of Albufeira.
The body of the 21-year-old man was discovered at the bottom of a set of steps in the old town in the Algarve.
It comes just days after cops located the body of a Scottish tourist who had been missing for a week in Albufeira.
Greg Monks, 38, from Glasgow, had gone out drinking after flying to the resort hours earlier for a stag do.
He is thought to have jumped over a wall and fallen down a steep cliff after becoming disorientated as he tried to head back to his hotel.
The plant mechanic was found by police at the bottom of a ravine on Wednesday - just hours after the 21-year-old Brit was discovered.
The spate of incidents has come amid a crackdown on holiday misbehaviour in Albufeira, with new fines of up to €4,000 introduced for drunken antics, nudity, and public indecency.
Albufeira's mayor, Jose Carlos Rolo, recently slammed out-of-control tourists, saying: 'Tourists who fall down drunk aren't needed here at all.'
The deaths of the two British men this week are the latest in a worrying trend that has put a spotlight on the darker side of the resort's party scene.
Police inquiries into Tuesday's drowning are ongoing.

Three Brits who smuggled £300,000 worth of cocaine into Bali stuffed in packets of the Angel Delight have been handed a dramatic reprieve and jailed for just six months each. Drug mules Lisa Stocker, 39, her partner, Jon Collyer, 39, and accomplice Phineas Float, 31, feared they could be executed under Indonesia's strict anti-drugs laws. Collyer, 38, and Stocker, 39, were arrested in Bali's international airport on February 1 after being stopped by customs at the X-ray machine. Prosecutors confirmed 992 grams of the Class A drug were found concealed across 10 sachets of Angel Delight in Collyer's luggage combined with 7 similar sachets in his partner's suitcase. The couple faced the death penalty and previously begged for freedom despite Indonesia's strict anti-drug legislation. However today all three were sentenced to a year in prison each - and given time already served, they'll be back in the UK by the end of the year. Stocker and Collyer, from East Sussex, had travelled from the UK through Qatar and were arrested following a routine X-Ray bag search when they landed in Bali, on February 1. Police later arrested Phineas Ambrose Float, 31, after a controlled operation which saw the other two suspects hand the drug to him in a hotel car park in Denpasar. He is being tried separately. Police are said to have used the couple to lure Float by sending Collyer and Stocker to meet him in an airport car park - where the trio were due to meet for an exchange on February 3. The group managed to slip past Indonesian authorities twice before, but were caught on their third attempt, said Ponco Indriyo, the deputy director of the Bali Police Narcotics Unit. In a previous court appearance, last week, Stocker issued a grovelling apology to the judge crying that she "won't trust people so easily again". The mum-of-three wept as she claimed to Judge Heriyanti that she had no idea what was in the dessert mix packets. She said: "I didn't know the packages were cocaine. I apologise. From now on I won't trust people so easily and will be more careful. Collyer, who comforted his wife throughout proceedings, uttered just five words and said: "I won't do it again." Float, who has previously been jailed in the UK for armed robbery and drug-dealing, told journalists gathered to "f**k off" as he was led into the courtroom last week. He previously told the court "I was very stupid" and has spent months in Bali's notorious hell-hole Kerobokan prison. Last week he told the court: "I was very stupid to take the packages of cocaine. I regret it and apologise." Stocker previously claimed that she had been given the Angel Delight packages in the UK by a friend to bring to Bali. She claimed that she had been framed on the second day of their trial on June 10. She said: "Jon and I had been to Bali twice carrying packages from (this friend). I was shocked after finding out it was cocaine." Collyer meanwhile told the court that he had not been given money to go to Bali and that he paid the cost of flights and hotels himself. However, police prosecutor Made Umbara alleged that a man in the UK who allegedly gave Stocker and Collyer the cocaine, paid Collyer £2,130 to cover the cost of accommodation and flights from the UK to Bali. People found guilty of breaking Indonesia's strict drug laws typically face extremely harsh punishments, including lengthy prison sentences or, in some cases, execution by a firing squad. According to data by the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections', around 530 people, including 96 foreigners, are on death row in Indonesia, mostly for drug-related crimes. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime says the country is a major drug-smuggling hotspot despite having some of the strictest drug laws in the world - partly because international drug gangs target its young population.

A fourth person, a man, remains in serious condition in hospital today. Police confirmed yesterday that all four individuals suffered gunshot wounds and were members of the same household. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it received a 999 call from inside the house at 8.21am on Wednesday. Three emergency ambulances, one rapid response paramedic, two ambulance officers and an ambulance doctor were dispatched to the scene. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene yesterday and a third person died in hospital. PSNI Superintendent Robert McGowan said the incident was ongoing when police arrived at the scene on Wednesday morning. It is understood police are now probing a triple murder and attempted suicide line of inquiry following the shooting. Vanessa, Jack and Sarah were avid sport fans, with local clubs rushing to pay tribute yesterday. 'BELOVED MEMBERS OF OUR CLUB' Local GAA club St Mary's Maguiresbridge said yesterday they would be providing support for the local community. "We will not be making any further comment at this difficult time." 'LOVELY NATURED CHILDREN' Enniskillen Cricket Club also expressed their condolences last night, remembering the children as "absolutely lovely natured". In an emotional statement they wrote: "Tonight we as a club are extremely saddened by the tragic events that occurred in Maguiresbridge today. "What makes this all the more difficult to process is that Kenny had the pleasure of coaching both children in his Kwik Cricket Program for several years during the time they spent playing cricket in School. "Both of them turned out to be talented young cricketers and two absolutely lovely natured children. "We would like to pass on our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of those impacted by today's events. "In what is a hard time for our small community, we would ask everyone to pull together and support each other through these difficult times." POLICE PROBE Speaking yesterday Mr McGowan said: "It just happened prior to police attending, so, as you can appreciate, it's a very harrowing scene for all involved. "So, not only police officers, but colleagues in the ambulance service, and family members. Without going into detail, it's a very harrowing scene for anybody to attend." No arrests have been made following the tragedy but cops confirmed they are "working at pace to determine the circumstances". Mr McGowan said yesterday: "There is limited domestic history involving the people concerned and that is certainly one line of inquiry that the detectives will take forward. "This is a quiet rural location and I'm aware that this tragic event will have sent shockwaves of sadness throughout the community." Superintendent McGowan continued: "Please be assured that you will see a continued police presence in the area, as we continue to carry out our enquiries. 'Our enquiries are at an early stage, and I would appeal for patience as we work to understand the events that have taken place. We will continue to bring updates as our investigation continues. Man seriously injured after car crashes into bridge wall
A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after a car crashed into a bridge wall in north single-vehicle crash happened on the B3227 near High Bullen on Wednesday at 16:40 driver, a man in his 20s from South Molton, was removed from the vehicle by firefighters and airlifted to and Cornwall Police closed the road for four hours for investigative work, and the force is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
