Tory Burch's Store Opening Is the Dance Party of the Year

Yahoo13-05-2025

Tory Burch knows how to throw a party. On Monday, May 12, the designer celebrated her new tri-level Beverly Hills flagship on Rodeo Drive with a cocktail soiree that lured out some fabulously dressed friends.Kate Hudson stunned when she entered wearing a Fall/Winter 2025 Look 25 Viscose Jacquard Dress and Twisted Slingback Heels.Rachel Brosnahan wore the Spring/Summer 2025 Look 8 Cotton Cropped Wool and Silk Jacket and Silk Wide-Leg Pants, Peep-Toe Pumps, Eleanor Clear Slim Shoulder Bag, Small Wave Earrings and Miller Metal Oval Sunglasses.
Jurnee Smollett was a fan of her green Embellished Viscose Knot Dress, which she paired with the Mini Kira Diamond Quilt Top-Handle Crossbody. And Jodie Turner-Smith caught eyes — and bared skin — in the Fall/Winter 2025 Look 1 Wool Sweater, Cotton Velour Pant, Pierced Multi-Strap Heeled Sandal and Kira Soft Shoulder Bag.But the real star of the show was Anderson .Paak (aka DJ Pee.Wee.), who enticed the group upstairs to the third floor — where he quickly started a dance party.Donning a Tory Burch Reflective Nylon Jacket and Eleanor Oval Sunglasses, he performed a set accompanied by jazz trumpeter Maurice 'MoBetta' Brown.
The pair played hits from "Pump Up the Jam" to "Push It"as guests gathered around the booth and a full-fledge dance party began. When Ciara arrived — dressed in a Fall/Winter 2025 Look 18 Wool & Cashmere Sweater Vest, Cotton Shirt, Wool Pant, Pierced Slingback Heel, Romy Bucket Bag and FW25 Runway Sunglasses — she joined .Paak behind the DJ booth, where the two began coordinating dance moves. When .Paak played "1,2 Step," Ciara took the mike and serenaded the dancing crowd — which included Turner-Smith, Chloe East and Maria Bakalova (in the Wool Trench Coat and Pant, Ribbed Tank, Sculpted Peep-Toe Pump, Fleming Soft Crossbody Bag and Eleanor Oval Sunglasses).
But nobody danced more than Burch herself. The store marks a new chapter for Burch — whose love of design and architecture is evident throughout the new Beverly Hills flagship. 'Working on this store was incredibly personal,' she said. 'To me, it feels quintessentially L.A. — where modern design is juxtaposed against so much natural beauty.'After the dance party, guests continued on to Mr. Chow for dinner — and more dancing.

Ciara and Her Daughter Sienna Twin in Power Suits at the Inaugural Black Women in Music Dinner

Ciara and her eight-year-old daughter Sienna Wilson made the case for mother-daughter coords on Tuesday at The Connie Orlando Foundation's inaugural Black Women in Music Dinner in Los Angeles. The mononymous singer received the Avant-Garde award at the event. For the red carpet occasion, Ciara opted for suited styling, giving menswear an edgy spin with feminine touches throughout. The 'Level Up' artist opted for tailored black trousers, which coordinated with the singer's structured blazer. The blazer featured a cinched waist for added silhouette definition and rounded shoulders with long sleeves. Beneath the blazer, Ciara wore a crisp, collared white shirt with a silk black tie and a metallic silver tie clip. The singer's look was recreated in a miniaturized version for her eight-year-old daughter, who wore the exact same suited look with a pair of black kitten heel shoes. Ciara shares Sienna with husband Russell Wilson. Menswear, particularly suited looks, for women reached an apex between 2024 and 2025. Culturally significant figures like former Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as royal women like Queen Letizia of Spain and Kate Middleton, have embraced the power suit to mainstream relevance. Its ripple effect has been felt globally, with London-based brands 'expanding their offerings to cater to women's tailoring, with special care to detail and design,' WWD's Hikmat Mohammed reported in August 2024. For Ciara, the coordinated look with her daughter exemplifies much more than the trendy power suit for women. The coordinated red carpet moment also served as a reminder of the ways in which the singer enriches her daughter's life with fashion to sentimental ends. 'I definitely plan to collect things for her,' the singer told WWD in an interview from March 2018. 'I was in the closet the other day and I was putting on some heels and Russ was like, 'SiSi's [her daughter Sienna] gonna have those.' She was sitting around, so we were joking like, you're gonna have those when I get older — or when she gets older,' she said, adding, 'I definitely plan to keep a lot of cool things for her, especially jewelry pieces.'
