There's A Lot Of Cool Dinosaur Games To Be Excited About
A decade ago, in a poorly written post on my terrible old blog that I won't link to here, I pondered why we didn't have more dinosaur games. At the time I blamed it on technical limitations and a focus on zombie-filled wastelands, and the lack of good dinosaur games made me really sad. So I'm happy to report that in 2025 we have a bunch of new dinosaur games to get excited about, and not all of them are Jurassic Park-related.
Just yesterday, during the Spring Future Games Show, another new dinosaur game was announced: Deathground, a co-op survival horror game featuring dangerous dinos. And it's just one of many upcoming games that look to be trying to fill the creepy, Dino Crisis-shaped void that currently exists because Capcom won't remake or develop a new entry in the franchise.
So let's take a look at some of the potentially awesome dinosaur games coming to a video game console or PC near you. (Oh and spoilers, but none of the games listed in here have release dates, so who knows how long we'll have to wait to play them.)
Announced back in 2023, Jurassic Park: Survival is an upcoming first-person survival horror game being developed by Saber Interactive. Since its announcement we've not heard or seen much else about the project, but we know it's still in the works. Let's hope this game is better than Trespasser.
Set to be published by Annapurna Interactive, The Lost Wild is also a first-person survival horror game set on a jungle-covered island filled with hungry dinosaurs and abandoned science facilities. The trailers we've seen for this upcoming dino game look amazing, and if it plays as well as it looks we might be in for a terrifying treat.
Stop me if you've heard this before. Compound Fracture is a spooky first-person game featuring dinosaurs and dilapidated facilities where questionable science took place. However, unlike the other games on this list, Compound Fracture is designed to look and play more like a 1990s game, complete with some lovely looking low res textures. I'm very excited to see more of this indie game in the future.
This is the most recently announced game on our list and while it has some similarities to the other dinosaur games we've looked at, including its FPS perspective and focus on horror, Deathground will support online co-op. Also, the dinosaurs in this upcoming survival horror multiplayer game have feathers. I'll let you decide how you feel about that.
While many of the games on this list are directly inspired by Jurassic Park and its lush tropical jungles, Paleophage is clearly riffing on recent Resident Evil remakes with its more urban setting and third-person camera. That sounds great to me! If this game is half as good as the recent RE4 remake and also has dinosaurs in it, I'll be perfectly satisfied.
Not every upcoming dinosaur game is a survival horror adventure. Take Turok Origins, which was announced in December 2024 and looks to be a co-op third-person shooter set in the strange prehistoric alien universe of Turok. It's being developed by the company behind Space Marine 2.
Published by TinyBuild, Ferocious is described by its devs as an old-school, action-packed FPS set on a tropical island inhabited by dangerous mercs and even more dangerous dinos. Simple premise, but the game basically looks like Far Cry + dinosaurs and that's a formula that has me excited to play.

Pinterest Signs on to Sponsor the New York Liberty to Expand its Sports Linkage

Yet, as Meta signs new sports partnerships, and X integrates gameday activations, Pinterest is also looking to dip into sports engagement, through a new sponsorship deal with the New York Liberty of the WNBA. As explained by Pinterest: 'For the first time, Pinterest is stepping into the sports arena as an official partner of 2024 WNBA Champion, New York Liberty. Together, the Liberty and Pinterest will inspire fans and celebrate women's sports through exclusive content, in-game experiences and community outreach, all reflecting the energy of New York and its iconic team.' And while it may not be an immediately logical connection, it will help to improve Pinterest's branding, through on-court signage and expanded display. Pinterest also notes that broader interest in the Liberty, and the WNBA in general, is rising in the app. 'Searches for 'WNBA aesthetic' and 'New York Liberty' are up 1,295% and 216%, respectively, while Liberty athletes are also redefining what it means to be professional women athletes, and Pinterest shares that spirit by offering fans a platform to explore their identities and draw inspiration from the team.' Indeed, Pinterest reports that a range of WNBA-related searches are steadily rising in the app. Pinterest says that, aside from general branding and sponsorship, it will also be partnering with the Liberty on initiatives for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, while it'll also be refurbishing basketball backboards at local courts in New York. It's an interesting partnership, and an interesting consideration for sports-related marketers, considering the growth of sports-related engagement in the app. Of course, a lot of that is an extension of the sport, in looking at WNBA-related style as well. Hasbro's New Marvel Legends Figures Are the Bendiest Boys Around
Whether it's Mr. Fantastic or Shuma-Gorath (sorry, 'Gargantos'), Hasbro's newest Marvel reveals are all about that flexibility. Today Hasbro revealed a boatload of Marvel Legends figures, and they were united beyond the mere fact that they were action figures made by Hasbro, and were from Marvel properties. No, there was a standout theme among today's reveals: bendiness. It would be otherwise difficult to marry the two halves of Hasbro's reveals today—our first official look at action figures from The Fantastic Four: First Steps alongside a series of gaming-themed celebrations of Capcom's classic Marvel fighting games—but somehow the toymaker did it with a little help from Mr. Fantastic and… Shuma-Gorath. Hasbro Marvel Legends Gamerverse Gargantos Sorry, Gargantos. The legally distinct Shuma-Gorath, who looks a lot like Shuma-Gorath, and instead currently borrows its name from an incredibly obscure Namor the Sub-Mariner villainous octopus to avoid potential copyright issues. Either way, they've both got big long bendy limbs! Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps Mr. Fantastic Thankfully, Reed also comes with a pair of normal arms that you can swap out if you don't want his wired, bendable stretchy limbs going all the time. But Gigantos is all bend, all the time, with multiple points of articulation across his six tendrils that make what is otherwise a giant green one-eyed tentacled eldritch abomination surprisingly expressive. Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four: First Steps Figures Of course though, non-bendy action figures were also on display. Rounding out the rest of the First Steps wave are, of course, the rest of the Fantastic Four, based on their MCU appearances: Sue, Johnny, and Ben all get figures, as does a fully flamed-on Human Torch. While there's no movie Galactus figure for them to battle against yet, the line is rounded out by his herald in the form of Shalla Bal, the Silver Surfer, who comes with not only her cosmic surfboard but a nifty little energy blast stand you can pose her surfing on. Hasbro Marvel Legends Gamerverse Figures The Gamerverse fighting game figures, beyond Gargantos, are all inspired by the early stages of Marvel's historic gaming collaboration with Capcom across a series of arcade fighting games, most notably Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, and the original Marvel vs. Capcom. Gargantos and a deluxe-sized Juggernaut, however, are the only standalone figures: the rest are available across a series of two packs, some of which will be exclusive in the U.S. to retailers like Walmart, Target. Here's the breakdown of who's facing off against who: Wolverine vs. Silver Samurai Psylocke vs. Thanos (Target exclusive) Captain America vs. Venom War Machine vs. Omega Red (Walmart exclusive) Hasbro's Fantastic Four: First Steps figures will hit Hasbro Pulse for pre-order tomorrow, May 30, ahead of a release this summer. The 'Gamerverse' two-packs will have staggered pre-order launches across Hasbro Pulse, Target, and Walmart across the month of June.
