Hyderabad family on US vacation charred to death as mini truck hits car head-on in Dallas

In a tragic incident, an Indian family of four, including two children, was killed after their car was hit by a mini truck in Dallas, United States.
The four family members were charred to death after their car caught fire following a head-on collision with the truck.
The deceased have reportedly been identified as Sri Venkat, Tejaswini, and their two children.
The accident took place on Monday in Green County, Dallas, when the mini truck, travelling on the wrong side of the road, crashed head-on into their car, according to media reports.
The Hyderabad-based family was on vacation in the US and returning to Dallas from Atlanta when the tragedy occurred.
The victims' car was reduced to ashes, and their bodies were burned beyond recognition. Local authorities have sent the remains of the victims for forensic analysis.
According to the police, DNA samples will be used to identify the victims before handing over the bodies to their next of kin.
In a similar incident last September, four Indians were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Anna, Texas. They were carpooling when a speeding truck hit their SUV from the rear, causing it to burst into flames.
The victims were identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan.
In August 2024, an Indian-origin couple and their daughter were killed in a car crash in Texas. Their car also caught fire after being hit by another speeding vehicle.
A 40-year-old man and his son were killed after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding truck on the Meerut-Karnal highway in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday night in the Jhinjhana police station area.
Station House Officer (SHO) Jitendra Sharma said Kausar and his six-year-old son, Farman, were riding a motorcycle when it was hit by a speeding truck near Vedkhedi Morh. The truck driver fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, the SHO added.

Bhubaneswar: Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday arrested Partha Sarathi Biswal, managing director of a Bhubaneswar-based private company, in connection with an alleged fake bank guarantee case. The ED probe stemmed from a case registered by the economic offences wing of Delhi Police against the company and its directors for allegedly providing a fake bank guarantee submitted to a central PSU. "The company fraudulently arranged and submitted fake bank guarantees of Rs 68.2 crore along with forged SBI endorsements and fabricated confirmations for a tender of the PSU. For providing this bank guarantee, Rs 5.40 crore was received by the company from Reliance Power Ltd," an ED statement said. The investigating agency confirmed counterfeit documents were used under names of various banks and false email addresses created under SBI's name. Investigation revealed the private company, established in 2019, operated several undeclared bank accounts and conducted transactions inconsistent with its stated turnover. Investigation also uncovered breaches of the Companies Act. "No statutory records are found at registered address — such as books of accounts, shareholders' registers, etc. Dummy directors are found to be used just to sign the documents. Coimbatore: The city police on Saturday night arrested an Erode-based software engineer for blackmailing a 44-year-old businesswoman from Coimbatore by threatening to circulate their intimate photos and videos on social media. An investigation officer identified the arrested person as C Arunkumar, 38, of Bhavani in Erode. He said Arunkumar was held based on a complaint lodged by a 44-year-old woman from the city. "The woman who runs two IT firms is separated from her husband due to differences of opinion. She has two minor sons as well," the officer said. He said Arunkumar joined the woman's IT firm as an employee in 2022. "When Arunkumar came to know that his employer was a divorcee, he befriended her. In 2023, Arunkumar told her that he was in love with her and expressed his interest in marrying her. He also promised to look after her two sons as his own. The woman subsequently accepted his proposal." In 2024, the officer said, Arunkumar took her to a hotel room in Bengaluru and took their intimate photos and videos without her knowledge.
