Warner Bros. To Release Box Office Smash 'A Minecraft Movie' On 4K UHD Blu-Ray This June
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced that the first-ever big screen, live-action adaptation of Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time, A Minecraft Movie will be available to own on 4K UHD Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray, and DVD on June 24, 2025. The film will be available on Digital platforms on May 13th. Written and directed by Jared Hess, the film stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge. The 4K UHD Blu-Ray will feature the film with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos audio, and exclusive special features. Get more details below!
Synopsis: Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn't just help you craft, it's essential to one's survival! Four misfits—Garrett 'The Garbage Man' Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.

Also back for the new film is Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), now a prince, who Morrible also recruits to rein in Elphaba. Seemingly through it all, the unflappable bond between Glinda and Elphaba remains, with the two singer-actresses belting out refrains from the Broadway show's second act and the song from which the sequel gets its title. Other curious snippets in the trailer for the new film feature callbacks to the 1939 classic 'The Wizard of Oz,' to which 'Wicked' serves as a preamble, including the Yellow Brick Road and even Dorothy, Toto and the Cowardly Lion. At the end of the trailer, Elphaba says, 'I'm off to see the wizard.' Last year's 'Wicked' became the highest-grossing film based on a Broadway musical, and it earned 10 Oscar nominations, including best picture and acting nods for both Grande and Erivo.
