Bayern's Jamal Musiala fractured his leg in collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma at Club World Cup
Bayern said Sunday that Musiala had flown back from Florida to Munich that morning for surgery on the injury he picked up in Saturday's loss to PSG in the quarterfinals.
Bayern said doctors found Musiala 'sustained a fracture of the fibula (bone in the lower leg) associated with an ankle dislocation."
'This serious injury and the lengthy lay-off are a real shock for Jamal and us all,' Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said in a statement.
"Jamal has just come back from an injury and will now be out for another long period. He'll get everything he needs from us. We'll support him intensively, be by his side and already look forward to when he's back on the pitch.'

Associated Press SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei was driven off the field by ambulance with an apparent head injury at the end of a Major League Soccer match against the Columbus Crew on Sunday. Frei jumped forward to make a play on a free kick, and as he came down, his head collided with the knee of a Crew player. Frei dropped to the turf at Lumen Field and teammates signaled to the sideline for help. (AP) — Brian Campbell won for the second time this year on the PGA Tour, both in a playoff, when he closed with a 4-under 67 and beat Emiliano Grillo with a par on the first extra hole Sunday in the John Deere Classic. It extended the win-or-bust season for Campbell, who won the Mexico Open in a playoff in late February. He has finished out of the top 30 every tournament except for his two victories. This one might be enough to get him into the British Open, depending on how high up he moves in the world ranking published Monday, traditionally used as the alternate list. Grillo, who also closed with a 67, took the lead when Campbell made double bogey on 15, only to three-putt for bogey on the 16th. Arozarena homers as Kirby and Mariners hand Pirates a 3rd straight shutout loss, 1-0
SEATTLE (AP) — Randy Arozarena homered, George Kirby tossed 6 1/3 crisp innings and the Seattle Mariners shut out the punchless Pirates for the third straight game, winning 1-0 on Sunday as Pittsburgh wasted another strong start by All-Star Paul Skenes. Arozarena hit his 14th longball of the season and sixth in seven games when he turned on a low fastball in the sixth inning from reliever Carmen Mlodzinski (2-6). Skenes had a short but effective outing, striking out 10 and allowing five hits in five innings. He threw 52 of his 78 pitches for strikes and lowered his ERA to 1.94 but is just 4-7 this season.
