Love Island late addition Conor Phillips reveals bad habit set to cause HAVOC in the villa

Love Island late addition Conor Phillips has revealed his bad habit, which is set to cause havoc in the villa. The professional rugby player, 25, from Limerick, Ireland, was announced as the new contestant on the ITV2 dating show on Wednesday. It came after water operative Kyle Ashman, 23, from Stafford, threw the show into chaos after The Sun reported he was allegedly involved in a machete attack in February when masked thugs stormed a wake and hacked at a dad with a blade. Kyle was one of two arrested by police but he was released with no further action. He chose to leave the Love Island line-up earlier this week. But his last-minute replacement Conor has now revealed the character trait that might make him unpopular in the iconic villa in Mallorca, ahead of the upcoming series starting on June 9. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. He said: 'I'm a bit of a s*** stirrer, I suppose, from being in rugby teams and being [in] big environments with big personalities, macho guys, I suppose that's a lot of what goes on. 'And that kind of comes into, yeah, that kind of trickles into your everyday life when I'm with my friends who aren't on the rugby team and stuff.' Conor has said he is looking for a woman willing to make just as much of a splash: 'Someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic. 'I like dark eyes and I don't mind a dominant woman.' Revealing his biggest ick ahead of the series, Conor said: 'Being too needy, or needing to do everything together. 'I like someone to be independent and do their own thing and then we come together and do our thing.' And of his flirting skills, he said: 'I ask girls if they want to go halves on a baby. It doesn't work, but it gets them laughing. 'It's an ice-breaker, not a serious question of course!' His last-minute replacement Conor has now revealed the character trait that might make him unpopular in the iconic villa in Mallorca (L-R Harry, Blu, Alima, Tommy, Megan, Helena, Ben, Sophie, Meg, Sharkia, Dejon and Kyle) It comes after Kyle shared his side of the story, explaining his innocence and hopes to be able to have a chance on Love Island in the future. Speaking in a video shared to Instagram, Kyle said: 'I'm sure you have seen the news circulating. I'm innocent, there was no further action taken. 'I'm not a bad guy. I'm a normal guy from a normal place. An opportunity arose to find love, I grabbed it with both hands and it's been taken away from me. Kyle added: 'I have seen the support pages and who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to go on Casa Amor, or as a bombshell, get back in and show you who I really am. 'Show you that I am not a bad guy... we'll see.' He captioned the clip: 'Just wanted to share my side.' ITV declined to comment when contacted previously by MailOnline. Following the reports of February's incident, Kyle confirmed he had no involvement in it - but chose to leave the ITV show regardless. He told MailOnline: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' Meanwhile ITV added: 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.' The Love Island line-up was only announced on Tuesday so Kyle's last-minute departure will have plunged the show into chaos ahead of Monday's launch episode. The Sun have revealed they alerted show bosses about Kyle being questioned on the attack. But ITV said they were unaware of the incident and he was not flagged during the contestant checks. The incident on February 28 saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept it for around two weeks. Another mourner was reportedly glassed, one hit with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car during the 15 minute attack at the The White Eagle Club in Stafford. Sources said the victim was attacked by three balaclava-clad thugs over an alleged £3,000 debt. He was injured by a blade that left him with a deep gash and has suffered tendon damage and is now unable to drive. Police confirmed earlier this week that after the matter was investigated, Kyle and another individual were released with no further action only last month. A show source told the publication: 'ITV were entirely unaware of Kyle's past and, as he was not charged, it was not flagged as part of Love Island's stringent DBS checks. 'It's only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.' Staffordshire Police said on Monday: 'A 22-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and affray. 'Another man, also 22 and from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of affray. 'Both were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.' Kyle does not have a strong social media presence with just one picture on his Instagram profile. Prior to his departure, he said he was looking for 'someone that's fun, confident and just themselves'. Kyle revealed his tactic for impressing the ladies is showering them with compliments.

TV channel to shut down tonight forever after 11 years in major shake-up

Since launching in 2014, ITVBe has been the home of reality and unscripted programmes which will now be moved to ITV2, while the channel's slot is taken over by ITV Quiz A popular TV channel is shutting down today after 11 years on-air as part of a major which first launched in 2014, has primarily been the home of reality and unscripted programmes such as The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE) and The Real Housewives franchise. Comedy fans have also previously been able to watch American shows like Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on the channel - but after tonight, ITVBe will no longer exist as its reality shows will be moved to a new home by merging with ITV2. ‌ These programmes will sit alongside other popular ITV2 shows including Love Island and Big Brother, and will continue to stream on ITVX, it was announced earlier this year. ITVBe's slot will be filled by ITV Quiz, airing the TV network's quiz and game shows. ‌ These include Wheel of Fortune, Tipping Point, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Lingo, Tenable, Deal or No Deal, The 1% Club, Jeopardy! and Catchphrase. As TOWIE - one of the most popular titles on ITVX - moves to ITV2, fans will enjoy a 15th anniversary series in the autumn. It is not the first time that TOWIE has aired on ITV2, with the channel being the reality show's original home when it first aired in 2010. The show, which started the careers of Mark Wright, Joey Essex, Lucy Mecklenburgh, Sam Faiers and Dab Osborne, aired on ITV2 until 2014, when it became one of the flagship programmes on ITVBe. In its announcement earlier this year, ITV said: "ITV2 will now officially become the linear home of all of ITV's best-known reality series, as The Only Way is Essex, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Real Housewives franchises from around the world move from ITVBe to the UK's most successful digital channel for 16-34s, in June 2025. TOWIE and RHOCH join a rich schedule of returning formats, including Love Island and Big Brother, and exciting new commissions which are lined up throughout the remainder of 2025 on ITV2, and will continue to stream on ITVX. "The supercharged ITV2 offering also includes animated comedies (Family Guy) original commissions (G'Wed and Transaction) blockbuster movies and younger skewing factual entertainment, like Olivia Attwood 's Price of Perfection, which are all also strong performers on ITVX. Both Love Island and Big Brother are due to return in the Summer and Autumn months respectively, alongside a second series of Olivia Attwood's Bad Boyfriends, following its talked about debut series in 2024. ‌ "The Only Way Is Essex will turn 15 meanwhile with a celebratory Autumn series. The move to ITV2 marks a homecoming for TOWIE as part of its 15th anniversary year, having initially debuted its first 12 series on ITV2." It added that the reality genre remains the most popular on ITV2 and ITVX, with Love Island and all of its spin offs being streamed 2.2 billion times, while Big Brother has been streamed over 100 million times. Streaming of TOWIE reached 66 million in the 12 months up to April, ITV said. The statement concluded: "As the flagship commissions move across to their ITV2 broadcast home, ITV will retire the ITVBe brand from its portfolio in June 2025. ITV plans to use the channel slot as ITV Quiz, drawing on ITV's popular, market-leading UK quiz and game shows, and the success and learnings of ITVX FAST channels." Earlier today, we reported that Love Island 's first bombshell has been revealed as a stunning Las Vegas pool party waitress. Antonia Laites, 24, looks after the VIP cabana huts at the swanky Fontainebleau Resort in the gambling mecca. She is the first American bombshell to take part in the reality dating show, which kicks off on ITV2 on Monday. She will join the other islanders as a bombshell - a role usually reserved for the best-looking contestants.

The Burnley beauty said: "My family are over the moon and my dad is a Love Island superfan. He's watched every season and he's said 'don't have sex on TV' so definitely not. "Sex after eight weeks is a no go. While Shakira may steer clear of intimate moments on camera, she's not shy about displaying her bold personality. ‌ When questioned about her temperament, Shakira didn't hesitate to affirm: "Absolutely, I could argue with a brick wall. "If arguing was an Olympic sport I'd have a gold medal. Even if I'm wrong I'll argue in the face until I have no breath left. I'm not the one to start an argument but I'll finish it." "I'm definitely a girls girl so if you're one of my close girls everything is off limits so it's like I won't speak to your fella and I've got your back through everything.
