Track Sean McGovern's extradition flight live as Kinahan boss under Garda escort
You can now track the extradition flight carrying Kinahan cartel boss Sean McGovern live as he makes his journey from Dubai back to Ireland under Garda escort. McGovern - described by United States authorities as Daniel Kinahan's closest confidant - was handed over by Dubai authorities this afternoon. He is currently on board an Air Corps €120 million Casa C295 maritime surveillance plane, which took off from Dubai International Airport around 8pm Irish time last night. It made stopovers in Larnaca in Cyprus, and Marseille in France, and is now on its final leg to Dublin. The flight is expected to arrive in Dublin late this afternoon after covering a distance of approximately 6,000 kilometers. The Air Corps crew and gardai left Ireland several days ago to pick up McGovern in Dubai and are now making the long return journey. Upon landing, McGovern, aged 38 and from Crumlin, will be arrested immediately and is expected to appear before the non-jury Special Criminal Court to face murder and gangland charges. McGovern's extradition follows his arrest in Dubai last October on foot of an extradition request issued by Irish authorities. He is charged in connection with two offences linked to the deadly Kinahan-Hutch feud, which has claimed the lives of up to 18 men.
