Apple iPhone 17 Pro price revealed in India: Check out the expected specifications, launch date, and more

Time of India6 days ago
iPhone 17 Pro price: Early price leaks for Apple's next iPhone 17 series have already made news before the device's anticipated 2025 release. There will be significant price discrepancies between the iPhone 17 Pro's variants, according to Apple reports, with the base model being reasonably priced to appeal to a larger worldwide market.
With the upcoming iPhone 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, Apple is anticipated to stick to its four-model approach. However, official pricing is still pending confirmation. These forecasts demonstrate Apple's ongoing efforts to maintain premium positioning while meeting consumer demands.
Particularly in Tier 1 markets like the US, UK, UAE, and India, this leak provides early insight into what to expect in terms of pricing strategy for both Indian customers and international Apple devotees.
iPhone 17 Pro launch date in India (Expected)
It is projected that the iPhone 17 series will be on sale from September 8 to September 12.
iPhone 17 Pro specifications (Rumoured)
Performance
Apple's next-generation A19 Bionic chip, which is purportedly constructed on a 2nm process—a first for Apple—is anticipated to power the iPhone 17 Pro. Better heat management, increased battery life, and enhanced performance should result from this.
In order to help keep temperatures down while gaming or severe multitasking, the phone is reportedly said to have a vapour chamber cooling mechanism and 12GB of RAM. Regarding the software, iOS 26—which is presently undergoing beta testing—will come pre-installed on the iPhone 17 Pro.
Design and new colour
The iPhone 17 Pro will appear very different from its predecessor, if leaks are to be believed. A new horizontal camera island design with triangular-shaped lenses across the top of the rear panel is suggested by sources such as MacRumors.
This might be the most daring design change Apple has made in a long time. Expect the standard colours of silver, black, grey, and dark blue in addition to a brand-new orange finish that looks like copper and could steal the show.
Camera
This time, photography is receiving a significant boost. It is anticipated that the iPhone 17 Pro would have a triple 48-megapixel camera configuration that includes telephoto, ultrawide, and primary sensors.
With Fusion technology, Apple's image processing wizardry will continue to improve photo quality in a variety of lighting conditions. Picture enthusiasts can also celebrate as Apple may eventually switch to a 24-megapixel front camera, which would allow for crisper FaceTime chats and improved picture detail.
iPhone 17 Pro price revealed (Leaks)
It is anticipated that the iPhone 17 Pro would debut in India at a starting price of Rs 1,45,000. Storage capacities for this model will include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The Pro Max model, meanwhile, is probably going to start at Rs 1,60,000.
The iPhone 17 is expected to launch in India for an initial price of Rs 79,900, according to pricing leaks for the device in other countries. A new model in this series, the iPhone 17 Air, would retail for about Rs 95,000 when it launches.

TCS shares decline nearly 2 pc on layoff announcement

Agency: PTI Last Updated: New Delhi, Jul 28 (PTI) Shares of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) declined nearly 2 per cent on Monday after the company announced that it will lay off about 12,000 employees of its global workforce this year. The stock dipped 1.69 per cent to Rs 3,081.20 on the BSE. At the NSE, it went lower by 1.7 per cent to Rs 3,081.60. India's largest IT services firm TCS is set to lay off about 2 per cent, or 12,261 employees, of its global workforce this year, with the majority of those impacted belonging to middle and senior grades. As of June 30, 2025, TCS's workforce stood at 6,13,069. It increased its workforce by 5,000 in the recently concluded June quarter. The move is part of the company's broader strategy to become a 'future-ready organisation", focusing on investments in technology, AI deployment, market expansion, and workforce realignment, TCS said in a statement. 'Towards this, a number of reskilling and redeployment initiatives have been underway. As part of this journey, we will also be releasing associates from the organisation whose deployment may not be feasible. This will impact about 2 per cent of our global workforce, primarily in the middle and the senior grades, over the course of the year," it said. TCS will provide appropriate benefits, outplacement, counselling, and support to the impacted employees, it added The move comes at a time when India's top IT services companies have delivered single-digit revenue growth in Q1FY26, capping off a somewhat-sobering June quarter as macroeconomic instability and geopolitical tensions weighed on global tech demand and delayed client decision-making. Apple iPad Pro 2025: M5 chip to dual front cameras, check expected upgrades

Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its next-generation iPad Pro later this year, bringing several key upgrades while maintaining the ultra-slim design of the current model. Although the physical design is expected to remain largely the same, under-the-hood changes could significantly enhance the user experience. These may include a new chip, upgraded wireless connectivity, and more RAM across all models. The iPad Pro M5 is anticipated to launch in September or October 2025. iPad Pro 2025: What to expect M5 chip upgrade According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple may debut its next-generation M5 chip in the iPad Pro before bringing it to Macs — similar to how the company introduced the M4 chip. This move would mark the most significant upgrade for the flagship iPad, with improvements expected across the central processing unit (CPU), graphic processing unit (GPU), and neural processing unit (NPU). The report also notes that Apple will likely prioritise NPU performance to enable enhanced on-device AI capabilities. Standard 16GB RAM The report adds that Apple could offer 16GB of RAM as the default configuration for all iPad Pro models. Currently, that amount of memory is only available on the 1TB variant of the M4 iPad Pro. However, with the M4 Mac lineup now starting at 16GB, it's likely Apple will align the iPad Pro with the same standard. This upgrade would not only improve multitasking and productivity features but also enable better performance for Apple Intelligence tools introduced in iPadOS 26. Dual front-facing cameras As per Bloomberg, Apple is planning to introduce dual front-facing cameras in the upcoming M5 iPad Pro — one positioned for landscape use and the other for portrait. The current model moved to a landscape-oriented front camera last year, but Apple may now reintroduce a portrait-facing camera to offer more flexibility based on how users prefer to use their iPad. Support for Wi-Fi 7 The next iPad Pro is also expected to support Wi-Fi 7, which will bring enhancements in speed, bandwidth, and latency. The M4 iPad Pro currently supports Wi-Fi 6E, but with Apple having adopted Wi-Fi 7 in the iPhone 16 lineup, it's likely the iPad Pro will follow suit. Ships with iPadOS 26 Apple's 2025 iPad Pro lineup will likely be the first to ship with iPadOS 26, the latest operating system unveiled at WWDC 2025. The update introduces a refreshed 'Liquid Glass' visual design, featuring translucent layers, refined animations, and redesigned icons. Productivity also gets a boost with improved multitasking capabilities. These include a revamped windowing system that lets users resize and reposition apps with macOS-style controls, integrated directly into Stage Manager. A floating universal menu bar provides quick access to app-specific functions. The Preview app debuts on iPad, enabling PDF editing and annotation with Apple Pencil. The Files app is getting smarter with folder pinning, enhanced List views, and background task support for video exports. For content creators and professionals, Apple has added features such as per-app microphone selection, voice isolation, and Local Capture for better conferencing and recordings. Lastly, Apple Intelligence enhancements such as Live Translation and smarter Shortcuts will be available system-wide, further enhancing usability.
