5 guns with magazines, drugs found in Vallejo home: Napa PD
(KRON) – Five guns with multiple high-capacity magazines and various illegal drugs were found in a Vallejo residence, according to the Napa Police Department.
In January, Napa police conducted a patrol for drunk drivers when officers noticed a person speeding.
The driver, later identified as 28-year-old Joseph Collins, allegedly had seven small bags of drugs. Each bag had a gram of suspected cocaine. The Napa Special Investigations Bureau (NSIB) began an investigation surrounding the drug bust.

On Feb. 4, the bureau conducted a search warrant of Collins' Vallejo residence, where they uncovered three pounds of cocaine, packaging materials, scales, cash, a money counter, MDMA powder and psilocybin mushrooms, police said.
According to Napa PD, Collins also had five firearms and multiple high-capacity magazines. Charges are being filed on Collins in Napa and Solano counties, according to Napa PD.

Johnson City man convicted in 2021 overdose death
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man has been convicted of murder in connection to another man's overdose death. A jury convicted Austin Forkpa of second-degree murder, sale of methamphetamine, and sale of fentanyl, according to a release by the district attorney's office. Forkpa was charged following the death of 20-year-old Bueford Patton III, who was found unresponsive by friends on Sept. 18, 2021. JCPD: Man facing attempted rape, indecent exposure charges According to the release, an investigation by Johnson City police revealed that Patton and two friends were attending a bachelor party when they obtained narcotics from Forkpa, who told them the drugs were Percocet and MDMA, or ecstasy. 'Unknown to the young men, Mr. Forkpa actually sold them fentanyl and methamphetamine,' the district attorney's office said. On June 4, the third day of the trial, the jury convicted Forkpa on all counts. The second-degree murder conviction carries a 15-25 year prison sentence at 100%, according to the release. Forkpa also faces 12-20 years at 35% for the sale of methamphetamine and 6-10 years for the sale of fentanyl. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 2. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Waymo suspends service in parts of San Francisco amid recent ICE protests
(KRON) — Waymo suspended service in parts of San Francisco on Monday, according to a company spokesperson. Service for the driverless taxi service was halted amid recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests in the city that became violent. The Waymo spokesperson did not specify where in San Francisco service will be suspended. The autonomous vehicle company says it is aware of the potential protests in the city. As a precaution, Waymo is not providing service in those areas. Waymo is in contact with local authorities in San Francisco to determine where it may need to halt service in the city. Another protest against ICE is set to take place in San Francisco Monday evening at the 24th and Mission BART Plaza. On Sunday evening, hundreds gathered outside the ICE building on Sansome Street in the Financial District. More than 150 arrests were made as the rally turned violent, with vandalism committed across the area. Multiple Waymos were vandalized in San Francisco, including one that was spray-painted (see photo below). BART station shuts down, Muni diverted due to SF ICE rally Protests against ICE are at a much larger scale in downtown Los Angeles where Waymo has suspended service in that portion of the city. Waymo received guidance from the Los Angeles Police Department to halt service amid multiple driverless taxis being set on fire and vandalized. One Waymo driverless car is between an estimated $150,000 and $200,000 each, according to a 2024 report by the Wall Street Journal. Oakland coffee house at center of Star of David hat controversy sued by DOJ
(KRON) — An Oakland coffee house that refused to serve a customer wearing a hat emblazoned with a Star of David last year is being sued by the United States Department of Justice. On Monday, the DOJ announced it had filed a lawsuit against Fathi Abdulrahim Harara and Native Grounds LLC, the owners of the Jerusalem Coffee House on Telegraph Avenue. The lawsuit, according to the DOJ, alleges the coffee house discriminated against Jewish customers, a violation of Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 'which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, or national origin in places of public accommodation.' 'It is illegal, intolerable, and reprehensible for any American business open to the public to refuse to serve Jewish customers,' said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the DOJ's Civil Rights Division. 'Through our vigorous enforcement of Title II of the Civil Rights Act and other laws prohibiting race and religious discrimination, the Justice Department is committed to combatting anti-Semitism and discrimination and protecting the civil rights of all Americans.' Dozens of arrests after San Francisco protest turns violent Sunday The lawsuit alleges that on two occasions, Harara ordered Jewish customers, who were identified because they were wearing Star of David baseball caps, to leave the business. During one incident, the suit alleges, a Jerusalem Coffee Huse employee told a customer, 'You're the guy with the hat. You're the Jew. You're the Zionist. We don't want you in our coffee shop. Get out.' In another incident cited by the lawsuit, a customer wearing a Star of David hat who was with his 5-year-old son was told to leave repeatedly by Harara, who accused him of supporting 'genocide' and accused of 'trespassing.' That particular incident, which was partially caught on video, was condemned by local leaders including Rep. Ro Khanna and recently elected Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee. The lawsuit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, further alleges that on the one-year anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas terror attacks, the coffee house unveiled two new drinks: 'Iced In Tea Fada,' and 'Sweet Sinwar,' a reference to former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The coffee shop's interior walls, according to the lawsuit, displayed inverted red triangles, 'a symbol of violence against Jews that has been spraypainted on Jewish homes and synagogues in anti-Semitic attacks.'
