55 beggars rescued in Tircuhi
A team comprising officials from the Child Welfare Committee, Social Work department, department for differently abled persons, police, and non-governmental organisations involved in rescue and rehabilitation carried out the drive.
The team rescued 55 beggars from Mambalasalai, Amma Mandapam, and Srirangam areas on Thursday. The rescued individuals were sent to old age homes, rehabilitation centres for persons with disabilities and beggars.
The district administration has urged the public to convey such information via WhatsApp at 6369103413.
