MOOSEHEAD BREWERIES PRESIDENTIAL PACKS ARE DELIVERED ACROSS CANADA

Cision Canada30-06-2025
SAINT JOHN, NB, June 30, 2025 /CNW/ - In March, Moosehead Breweries introduced the Presidential Pack, a limited-edition crate that includes 1,461 cans of the brand's iconic Canadian Lager - just enough to get through the full presidential term.
Response was overwhelming. The Presidential Pack captured international attention, selling out - at a retail price of $3,490 - in just days and attracting a waitlist of more than 450 names.
Now, just in time for Canada Day, the completed packs are making their way to lucky purchasers across the country.
"The single biggest question we heard when we launched the Presidential Pack was: is this for real?" says Karen Grigg, Director of Marketing at Moosehead Breweries. "So we're delighted to confirm today that not only are they real, but they're here - Presidential Packs are now being delivered across Canada."
Photos and video assets showcasing select deliveries can be found here.
One lucky purchaser, New Brunswick's Randy Defazio, says the Presidential Pack will be the cornerstone of his July 1 celebrations: "When I saw the Presidential Pack, it hit me—this is what we need right now. Something that cuts through the noise and brings people together. The U.S. tariffs are doing real damage—driving up costs, hurting local businesses, and putting pressure on hardworking Canadians. But we don't back down. I'm proud of how we've responded as a country, and proud of Moosehead for stepping up with something bold. The Presidential Pack says we can stand our ground without losing who we are."
Grigg confirms that the offer was intended to celebrate Canadian spirit: "Moosehead was founded in the same year as Canada, 1867. And we exist to recognize and reward the courage and resilience that defines this country. It's going to be a long four years, but we know we can get through it together, one well-earned beer at a time."
Moosehead Breweries, based in Saint John, New Brunswick, is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians.
Moosehead's Presidential Pack should be enjoyed responsibly.

Canada Post, union to restart contract talks as company warns of ‘crisis'

Canada Post and the union representing its postal workers will return to the bargaining table Friday to restart talks in their longstanding labour dispute, both sides confirmed Wednesday. The national mail carrier said in a statement it has asked the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) to present a response to its 'best and final offers' that were first presented in May, and which postal workers rejected in a vote nearly two weeks ago. 'The parties will meet on Friday to resume good faith discussions with the assistance of federal mediators,' Canada Post said. 'The company looks forward to receiving a detailed and comprehensive response from CUPW that addresses the real, significant and increasing challenges faced by the postal service.' CUPW had been calling for a return to the bargaining table ever since the results of a two-week vote administered by the Canada Industrial Relations Board were announced on Aug. 1, which saw more than two-thirds of urban and rural mail carriers reject their respective contract offers. Story continues below advertisement The union on Wednesday accused both Canada Post and the federal government of delaying negotiations through the vote and an attempt at arbitration that also went nowhere. 'And the members have made clear that those do not look like what the employer is selling.' Simpson said both sides met with federal mediators on Tuesday and will meet again on Friday and Monday. 0:47 Canada Post workers reject 'final' contract offers after vote Mail carriers are continuing to refuse overtime work in a ban that started in May. Canada Post's latest proposal included wage hikes of about 13 per cent over four years and restructuring to add part-time workers to the deal. The union has long fought against the use of part-time or contracted workers, arguing savings for the financially struggling company can be found elsewhere. Story continues below advertisement 'Canada Post is facing an existential crisis,' the company said Wednesday. 'Letter mail volumes continue to erode and competition in the parcel line of business places ever increasing pressure on the Corporation's operating model. 'While negotiations remain unresolved, there remains an urgent need to modernize Canada Post and protect this vital national service for Canadians.' That statement echoed findings from an Industrial Inquiry Commission report from Commissioner William Kaplan earlier this year, which found the postal service was effectively bankrupt and needed substantial reforms to remain afloat. Negotiations for a new collective agreement have been ongoing for more than a year and a half. The federal government asked the CIRB to step in and stop a holiday season postal strike late last year, but the parties remain at an impasse. In a statement after the vote results on Canada Post's offers were announced, Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu said federal mediators would remain available to help in the talks but urged both sides to reach a deal quickly. 'It is now up to the parties to return to the table and come to an agreement that works for both of them,' she said.

Readout - Prime Minister Carney participates in a virtual meeting in support of Ukraine

OTTAWA, ON, /CNW/ - Today, the Prime Minister, Mark Carney, participated in a virtual meeting of the Coalition of the Willing on support for Ukraine. The Coalition welcomed the leadership and initiative of President Trump and the United States and discussed ongoing efforts toward securing peace in Ukraine, in the context of upcoming ceasefire negotiations between the United States and Russia taking place in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday, August 15, 2025. The leaders underscored their unity on shared principles, including that decisions on the future of Ukraine must be made by Ukrainians, that international borders cannot be changed by force, that diplomatic engagement must be reinforced by military and economic pressure on Russia to end its aggression, and the need for credible security guarantees to enable Ukraine to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty. Prime Minister Carney affirmed Canada's steadfast support for Ukraine, including through $2 billion in new military support and the disbursement of a $2.3 billion loan through the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration Loans mechanism. The meeting was co-chaired by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir Keir Starmer, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, also participated in the Coalition of the Willing meeting.
