In 2018, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Decatur, Tennessee, south of Knoxville, that was also felt as far as Atlanta.
A few days later, nearby Mascot, Tennessee, was hit by a 3.0 magnitude quake that was felt in parts of Georgia, Kentucky and North Carolina.
The earthquake was initially reported by USGC as having a 3.5 magnitude but has since been updated to 4.1.
Residents of the region have taken to social media to describe the scene.
