Expand deportations in Democrat-ruled cities, orders Trump

India Today6 hours ago

US President Donald Trump has instructed federal immigration authorities to expand the detention and deportation of individuals from cities governed by Democrats, following widespread protests in Los Angeles and several other major cities opposing his administration's immigration policies and raids on immigrants. In a Truth Social post, Trump urged federal agencies to use every effort to carry out "the largest mass deportation program in history (sic)", specifically mentioning Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York as key focus areas.advertisementSince June 6, widespread protests have erupted in these cities and others in response to raids targeting undocumented migrants.
"These, and other such cities, are the core of the Democrat Power Centre, where they use illegal aliens to expand their voter base, cheat in elections, and grow the welfare state, robbing good-paying jobs and benefits from hard-working American citizens. These radical left Democrats are sick of mind, hate our country, and actually want to destroy our inner cities — and they are doing a good job of it (sic)," Trump said in a post on his Truth Social media site.Trump's declaration comes after weeks of increased enforcement.Stephen Miller, White House Deputy Chief of Staff and main architect of Trump's immigration policies, even said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers would target at least 3,000 arrests a day, up from about 650 a day during the first five months of Trump's second term, news agency Associated Press reported.advertisementAt the same time, the Trump administration has directed immigration officers to pause arrests at farms, restaurants, and hotels, after Trump expressed alarm about the impact aggressive enforcement is having on those industries, AP reported, citing an unnamed US official familiar with the matter.Trump, in a social media post last Thursday, said he heard from the hotel, agriculture, and leisure industries that his "very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long-time workers away from them" and vowed that changes would be made.TRUMP FACES BACKLASH ON HANDLING OF PROTESTSTrump has drawn legal scrutiny and public backlash over his handling of the protests, especially for deploying the military in an effort to suppress the unrest.Opponents of Trump's immigration policies joined mostly peaceful "No Kings" protests on Saturday, coinciding with his large parade in Washington marking the US Army's 250th anniversary.Police in Los Angeles and Portland used tear gas and crowd-control tactics to disperse protesters after demonstrations continued into the evening.A shooting at a "No Kings" march in Salt Lake City, Utah, left one person dead.Trump claimed deploying troops was essential to controlling the protests — a claim challenged by state and local officials.Trump issued his call for increased enforcement in Democrat-led cities via social media before leaving the White House for Canada to attend the G7 Summit in Alberta.Tune InMust Watch

Four NPP MLAs defect to PPA in Arunachal

Itanagar: Four legislators of National People's Party (NPP) have formally defected to People's Party of Arunachal (PPA), according to an official notification issued by the state legislative assembly on Monday. The switch was executed under Rule 4 of the Members of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (Disqualification on Grounds of Defection) Rules, 1987 and has been notified in the Arunachal Pradesh Gazette. The MLAs who crossed over to PPA are Namgey Tsering (Tawang), Pesi Jilen (Liromoba), Tapi Darang (Pasighat East) and Oni Panyang (Mariyang-Geku). All four had submitted fresh Form-III declarations on May 12, 2025, notifying their change of party allegiance from the NPP to the PPA. They were elected on NPP tickets in the 2024 assembly elections. The notification regarding the change was issued by assembly speaker Tesam Pongte. With the latest realignment, the PPA — Arunachal's only recognised regional party founded in 1977 — now has six members in the 60-member assembly. BJP continues to maintain its dominant position with 46 seats. NPP, which emerged as the second largest party in the April 19 assembly polls last year, now has only one MLA — Longding-Pumao legislator Thangwang Wangham. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) holds three seats, while Congress and Independents have one and three seats, respectively. The development is seen as a boost to PPA, which shares ideological proximity with ruling BJP. Political observers believe the defection could further bolster the BJP-led coalition's strength in the assembly. Why can't Israel destroy this Iranian nuclear site which is dubbed as 'indestructible fortress'? Site is..., will require US...

(Centrifuge machines in the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran in 2019. AP) New Delhi: Israel is bent on destroying Iran's nuclear bases with full force. Israeli Air Force is continuously bombing different parts of Iran including Tehran to which Tehran is also replying. There has been devastation in cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa. Many areas have been shaken by Iran's destructive advanced ballistic missiles. Amidst all this, at least 14 nuclear scientists of Iran have been killed in Israeli attacks. But in this entire campaign, one place is still standing firm, that is Fordo Nuclear Fuel Enrichment Plant, which is not only the heart of Iran's nuclear capability but has now become a puzzle that even powerful countries like Israel are unable to solve. Although Israel has bombed here too, but now the whole world is watching whether Israel will be able to break this fortress? Fordo nuclear plant Fordo is not an ordinary nuclear plant, but it is hidden inside a hill 20 miles from the city of Qom in central Iran and about 100 miles from Tehran. It is called the fortress of Iran's nuclear programme, because it is built so deep in the hill that it is not easy to break it. Its structure has made it a 'nuclear fortress'. It is very difficult to break it only by bombing, rather scientific methods and deep strategy will have to be used to break it. Many experts believe that Israel is trying to do the same. This hideout is located in the base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), and to break it, insanely powerful bunker buster bombs will be needed which can be dropped from American B-2 bombers and this is the reason why the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is repeatedly asking for help from America. Construction of Fordow, a fortress Iran knows that Israel can cross every limit to destroy Fordow. That is why it has built it very cleverly by surrounding it with air defense systems. If Israel really wants to destroy Iran's nuclear capabilities, then it will have to destroy Fordow. Its biggest strength is its design. It is dug deep inside the mountains, most of which is 90 meters below the earth's surface. In 2009, when the intelligence agencies of America, France and Britain revealed its existence, the world was stunned. Uranium enrichment started here in 2011 and today this site generates up to 60% pure uranium. That means Iran is just one step away from making nuclear bomb. What makes Fordo almost indestructible? Israel has bunker busters like GBU-28 and GBU-31 that can penetrate concrete up to a depth of about 6–10 meters. But to destroy Fordo, a bomb that can penetrate up to 61 meters is needed, which only America's GBU-57 MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) can do. America can destroy Fordo by dropping GBU-57 MOP bombs from its B-2 bomber, but politically it does not want to get involved in this conflict. Apart from this, Fordo is a symbol of Iran's strategic prestige and ideology. It is under the tight security of IRGC, where air defense systems like S-300, underground tunnels, multi-layer shields and electronic jamming systems are present. This is the reason why any attack on Fordo is not possible. A single attack, be it cyber, missile or ground operation, will not work alone. To destroy it, it will have to be attacked simultaneously at many levels, and that too repeatedly.
