Flood vlogger ‘Chatori Rajani' opens up about son's death, says she has no memory of him: ‘People said this is why you need more than one child'

Rajani Jain, the popular food content creator known as 'Chatori Rajani,' recently opened up about losing her son in a road accident. Taran frequently appeared in his mother's cooking videos, sharing heartwarming moments from her everyday kitchen routines. His last appearance on the Chatori Rajani Instagram page was in a reel posted on February 5.
Speaking in a podcast, Talk With Namit, Jain opened up about her life after her son's death and the 'mean' comments she received after. Reflecting on her loss, she recalled how many users commented insensitively, saying, 'This is why you shouldn't have just one child. You should have at least two or even three or four.'
Jain shared, 'I don't know if they were trolling or what, but these were real comments. People said, 'This is why you don't stop at one child.' But I've spoken to 20 grieving parents, and maybe only one or two of them had just one child like me. The rest had two or more. If you lose one eye, yes, you have the other, but the pain is still the same. Whether you lose one child or one out of four, the grief doesn't lessen.'

She added that over time, she tried to learn from mothers who lost their children years ago. 'I don't know what the right thing is. I can't say,' she said.
Jain also shared that after Taran's passing, nothing in life stopped. 'We have to keep going. We work, we step out, we go to restaurants… we try to live again. But it's not that we're okay. We just can't sit in the house and stare at the walls. Sometimes, we avoid talking about Taran, just to get through the day,' she said.
She further revealed that several users made harsh judgments after a video of Taran riding a bike at high speed went viral. Some blamed Rajani for allowing her 16-year-old to ride, while others said the accident could have been avoided had he not been speeding.
Jain rose to fame with her relatable and heartwarming cooking videos. Her series showcasing what she packed in her husband's lunchbox quickly became a fan favourite. Over time, she built a niche, growing to over seven lakh followers on Instagram and more than 3.7 lakh subscribers on YouTube.
