Checkmarx Enables Real-Time Code Security with Launch of Developer Assist Agent for AI-Native IDEs
New security solution addresses growing risks as AI generates majority of enterprise code with increasing vulnerabilities. Puts power in hands of developers for real-time remediation.
Checkmarx One Developer Assist is an advanced security agent that delivers real-time context-aware prevention, remediation, and guidance to developers from the IDE. Part of the Checkmarx One platform, this innovation enables modern engineering teams to identify, suggest, and remediate AI-generated code from the start, accelerating development without compromising security.
'With AI now generating a majority of new code in enterprise environments, traditional security approaches can't keep pace and will be overwhelmed,' said Jonathan Rende, chief product officer at Checkmarx. 'We are focused on ensuring protection starts at the source—whether generated by humans or AI—by putting more power into developers' hands to identify and remediate issues in real-time.'
The initial Checkmarx One Developer Assist plugins are built for popular AI-native coding tools Windsurf, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. As extensions to the Checkmarx One platform, they provide developers seamless access to autonomous, real-time prevention and instant remediation through their primary development environment.
During early access of Developer Assist, enterprise customers across healthcare, financial services, and consumer products reported easier access to accurate and complete threat alerts with faster remediation.
'We are very excited about the feedback from customers who have early access to Checkmarx One Developer Assist,' said Ori Bendet, vice president of product management at Checkmarx. 'Developers report faster detection and improved insights. Our goal is to deliver a security-savvy teammate built into their workflow and to reduce the toil of manual processes.'
As AI accelerates code generation, it also amplifies security risks that manual reviews can't catch at scale. Developer Assist automates the entire security lifecycle—detection, analysis, and remediation—matching the speed of AI code creation.
Developer Assist is the first in Checkmarx's AI agent portfolio, with Policy Assist and Insights Assist agents launching later this year to serve AppSec teams and CISOs respectively.

"EASE brings Elastic's proven AI capabilities into the security tools teams already use, to automatically prioritize threats, correlate alerts, and accelerate investigations, reducing the load on teams. When ready, teams can seamlessly migrate to Elastic Security for a unified, AI-driven platform that brings together SIEM, XDR, and cloud security, without missing a beat." EASE is designed for fast deployment and immediate value in security environments that rely on Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, and other tools. EASE includes: Agentless integrations: Native, agentless alert ingest from third-party SIEM and EDR platforms that allow users to apply AI analysis to alerts immediately. AI-powered alert correlation: Users get access to Elastic Attack Discovery, which triages, correlates and prioritizes alerts, as well as a streamlined AI-powered alert view, which supports analysts with AI-powered summaries and context. Context-aware AI Assistant: Agentless data connectors enrich investigations with internal knowledge from sources including Jira, GitHub, and SharePoint, and support natural language queries and RAG-based search across organizational data. Transparent AI with model flexibility: Choose the LLM that works best for your organization, either your own, or the Elastic Managed LLM. To unlock its full potential, we need investment in infrastructure, data, talent, and policy. At Mastercard, we believe responsible, locally rooted AI can drive inclusive growth and connect more people to opportunity.' The whitepaper outlines the potential positive impact of AI on digital infrastructure, policy and governance, research and development, local language processing and investment into Africa. It also explores how AI can accelerate job creation, with up to 230 million digital jobs projected by 2030, and increase access to formal finance through AI-enabled credit scoring and fraud prevention. Greg Ulrich, chief AI and data officer, Mastercard, said: 'AI is only as powerful as the trust behind it. At Mastercard, we're committed to building AI that's responsible, inclusive, and built to bring value to our customers, partners and employees. This isn't just innovation—it's innovation with integrity.' Regional highlights covered in the whitepaper include: South Africa: South Africa attracted USD 610 million in AI-focused venture capital in 2023, with total AI investment expected to reach USD 3.7 billion by 2030.
