That project earned a Grammy nomination for best global music album, while its single 'Unavailable' featuring Musa Keys hit No. 3 on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. Davido received another nomination this year for 'Sensational' with Chris Brown and Lojay, which marked both artists' Billboard Hot 100 debuts.

Justin Bieber backs Chris Brown after arrest linked to 2023 London club assault
Justin Bieber has publicly supported Chris Brown following the latter's release on £5.3 million bail after his recent arrest connected to an alleged 2023 London nightclub assault. Chris Brown was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after being accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle on 19 February 2023. The incident allegedly included additional physical assault, with Diaw claiming, 'He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well.' Brown was arrested on May 15, 2025 at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester and appeared before court on May 21. He has not entered a plea, according to NBC News. Brown denied bail after assault charge
American R&B singer Chris Brown, former boyfriend of superstar Rihanna, was on Friday remanded in custody until June 13 by a UK court, charged with assault over a 2023 incident, reported AFP. The judge's decision to reject his bail request throws into doubt the start of Brown's next tour, with shows already sold-out in the Netherlands on June 8 and Germany on June 11. Brown, a two-time Grammy winner who has sold tens of millions of records worldwide, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday at a Manchester hotel and charged over the alleged assault at a London nightclub in 2023, police said. The 36-year-old appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Friday, where District Judge Joanne Hirst remanded him in custody until a plea and trial preparation hearing at London's Southwark Crown Court on June 13. Brown is due to play in Germany that day, and has a series of shows planned in the UK and Europe during June and July, before heading to the United States. Wearing a black T-shirt, Brown spoke to confirm his name, age and the address of the hotel where he was staying. Brown was charged with "grievous bodily harm with intent" in relation to "an assault" that allegedly took place at a venue in Hanover Square in London on February 19, 2023, police said. Prosecutor Hannah Nicholls told the court the alleged victim was at the bar in the Tape nightclub in central London when he was struck several times with a bottle in an "unprovoked" attack. "The defendant then pursued him to a separate area of the nightclub where the victim was punched and kicked repeatedly by him and another," she added. Brown was touring the UK at the time of the alleged assault. He reportedly flew into Manchester airport by private jet on Wednesday afternoon. Police detained him at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester, according to media reports.

'Breezy Bowl XX' tour in jeopardy after Chris Brown's arrest in Manchester
American R&B artist Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester early Thursday morning in connection with an alleged bottle attack that occurred at a London nightclub in February 2023. The 36-year-old singer was detained by Metropolitan Police officers at The Lowry Hotel on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. According to The Sun, Brown had flown into Manchester on a private jet the previous afternoon. Upon learning of his presence in the UK, police confirmed his arrest and took him into custody. He is believed to have been transported to a local station for questioning. In a statement, the Met Police said, 'A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.' The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit. The alleged victim, music producer Abe Diaw, claims that Brown struck him with a tequila bottle and then repeatedly punched and kicked him at Tape nightclub in Mayfair. Diaw, who was hospitalized following the incident, later filed a $16 million (£12 million) civil lawsuit against the artist for injuries and damages. He alleges Brown used a Don Julio 1942 bottle and knocked him unconscious for about 30 seconds, resulting in head lacerations and torn ligaments. Brown was on a global tour at the time of the alleged assault and had planned to perform several more shows in the UK next month, including dates in Manchester, London, Birmingham, and Glasgow. The ongoing investigation could disrupt his Breezy Bowl XX Tour, a celebration of his 20-year career. The Grammy-winning artist has a history of legal issues. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna, and in 2017, a five-year restraining order was issued against him following accusations from ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran. As of now, representatives for Brown have not issued a statement regarding the arrest.
