Mum, dad and teen son die in motorway horror crash on way back from holiday – leaving behind eight-year-old girl

A DAD, mum and son tragically died in a horrific motorway crash last month while they were on the way back home from a holiday. Andy Moore and Swala Harding died alongside their 14-year-old son Sebastian in the horrific single-vehicle collision on Friday, May 30, while on the M5 between Junction 14 and Michaelwood Services. They had been travelling home from a family holiday in Cornwall along with their daughter, 8, who "miraculously" survived the crash with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. A fundraiser has been setup in the family's memory by a close friend, with more than £13,000 being donated so far to help Andy and Swala's daughter through recovery. Funds are also being raised to help contribute to her parents' and brother's funeral. The GoFundMe page reads: "On Friday 30th May, our dear friends Andy, Swala and their 14-year-old son Sebastian tragically passed away having been involved in a car accident whilst travelling back from a family holiday in Cornwall. "The family sadly leave behind their beloved eight-year-old daughter, who miraculously survived the accident. "To help their lovely little girl adapt to her new future, and help contribute towards the cost of her parents and brother's funeral, we're asking if people would help us raise some money to make her life that little bit easier." Car Deal of the Day: Vauxhall Grandland Ultimate for an unbelievable £179 a month

Range-topping Ultimate model £3 a month more than a Mokka Only £178.82 a month The Vauxhall Grandland is the largest model Vauxhall offers, and as such the British brand has thrown the proverbial kitchen sink at it in terms of technology and equipment. But, despite its grand positioning, it's one of the cheapest family SUVs around to lease. Advertisement - Article continues below Currently Leasing Options is offering the Grandland for a miniscule £178.82 a month – just £3 more than the significantly smaller Vauxhall Mokka. It's a two-year deal and requires a very modest £2,495.83 initial payment, with mileage limited to 5,000 a year. This can be bumped up to 8,000 for a pretty steep £27.95 extra a month, so this deal is better suited to lower-mileage drivers. Not only will you be getting the largest model Vauxhall sells, but also the poshest version. This deal is for the ambitiously named 'Ultimate', but it is true to its badge, because it's packed with features. Vauxhall throws in 19-inch diamond-cut wheels, a panoramic roof, a large 16-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and full matrix-LED headlights, plus LED lighting strips. The Ultimate also gets illuminated Vauxhall badges, so everyone will know how posh your car is. Under the bonnet you'll find a 1.2-litre petrol hybrid engine. With 134bhp, power isn't the name of the game here, and that also goes for the driving experience. The Grandland isn't a thrill-a-minute ride, but given that this is a family car, its supple ride and high levels of refinement are far more impressive. The Grandland is also one of the most spacious cars in the class. There are numerous storage spaces, back-seat room is plentiful, and the 550-litre boot capacity is very generous. The Car Deal of the Day selections we make are taken from our own Auto Express Find A Car deals service, which includes the best current offers from car dealers and leasing companies around the UK. Terms and conditions apply, while prices and offers are subject to change and limited availability. If this deal expires, you can find more top Vauxhall Grandland leasing offers from leading providers on our Vauxhall Grandland hub page. Toyota has electrified the chonky new Land Cruiser

Toyota has electrified the chonky new Land Cruiser Toyota adds a 48V hybrid system to its all-conquering off-roader Skip 7 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. 1 / 7 Toyota has hybridised the chonky new Land Cruiser, and straight off the bat has reassured us that "the system in no way compromises the Land Cruiser's ability to operate in extreme conditions and rough terrain". Phew. Welcome to the first electrified LC. Mildly electrified, for this be a 48V stop-start system, rather than an able-to-run-on-e-power-alone setup. It's the same version that sits in the Hilux, which means an electric motor-generator, a 48V li-on battery and a DC-DC convertor. That's all bundled up and mated to a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder and eight-speed automatic 'box. Advertisement - Page continues below The hybrid bit adds 16bhp/48lb ft to the LC, and charges itself via engine braking. Naturally, Toyota said overall efficiency has been improved. And because the motor-generator has been positioned high up on the engine block, Toyota said the LC "can still wade at low speed through water up to 700mm deep". It's also more compact than Toyota's full-hybrid system. Other changes include a small update to the digital display, where a new read-out will inform drivers of the engine's regen status. Toyota said the new 48V system will be bolted onto every UK car including the Land Cruiser Commercial (not an advert, but a tradey's LC), though hasn't said how much it'll cost. In any case, it'll arrive later this year. Advertisement - Page continues below Top Gear Newsletter Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter.
