Grand Imperial Group's Parents' Day promotion runs until June 15 and features three set menus for tables of 10 priced at RM1,488++, RM1,688++ and RM2,688++, with a range of delicacies.
The RM1,688++ menu, for example, presents eight courses, beginning with a savoury four-combination appetiser platter featuring foie gras-stuffed prawn ball, crispy fried scallop with salted egg yolk, prawn salad with pineapple chunks, and stuffed fish paste with salted egg yolk and dried oyster.
This is followed by a nourishing double-boiled soup made with whole abalone, fish maw, morel mushroom, and chicken.
The individually-served clear broth is savoury with umami flavours, thanks to ingredients chosen for taste and texture.

Next is the roasted Silver Hill London Duck, prized for its rich fat content.
It is served with chilled sliced chicken and crunchy jellyfish for a mix of hot and cold textures.
The fourth course features steamed orange roughy, a deep-sea fish known for its delicate white flesh.
The fish's flaky texture, topped with fresh clams and silky fish curd, offers a balanced bite of savoury and sweetness.
This is followed by whole abalone with dried scallop and a slab of spinach-infused house-made tofu, with its silky texture and subtle flavour complementing the firm and chewy seafood delicacy.
Handmade longevity noodles with black truffle and crabmeat take the stage in the sixth course, combining earthy fragrance with briny sweetness.
The meal ends with two dessert servings – a bowl of double-boiled peach gum with dried fig and snow pear, followed by steamed longevity buns filled with silky lotus paste.

Grand Imperial Sunway Velocity Mall chef Vincent Chio said premium ingredients were sourced from New Zealand, Japan and the UK to blend traditional flavours with modern creativity.
'Many parents have never tried black truffle, so we paired it with crab meat to create something unique and memorable,' said Chio.
Each booking during the campaign period is eligible for a lucky draw opportunity to win a four-day trip to Chongqing for two, worth over RM10,000.
Tailored for elderly parents, the private travel package avoids large tour groups.
'Winners enjoy a more relaxed experience, visiting carefully selected sites and travelling in comfort with all arrangements made in advance,' said Grand Imperial Group business development manager Maggie Chow.

Acclaimed Artist Anish Kapoor Creates Art For Cognac House Rémy Martin
The House of Rémy Martin recently unveiled an exceptional collaboration with internationally renowned contemporary artist Anish Kapoor, with a limited-edition Rémy Martin XO decanter and an exclusive artwork. The Rémy Martin XO x Anish Kapoor limited edition collaboration was launched in Malaysia at an event last month held at Private Chamber, Starhill Gallery, KL. Only 480 units of the limited edition are available here in Malaysia, and it retails from RM1,049.00 onwards. Best known for large-scale sculptures like Chicago's 'Cloud Gate' (aka 'The Bean'), 'Descension', and 'Dismemberment Site', Kapoor is recognised as one of the world's leading contemporary artists. Kapoor sensed from the beginning that the Rémy Martin project would be one that "refers to my history". "My father used to drink it when I was a boy in India, and I carried that with me.' he says. Kapoor reimagined it as a minimalist curve with a concave centre in glowing amber tones. Starting with the iconic Rémy Martin XO decanter, Kapoor reimagined it as a minimalist curve with a concave centre in glowing amber tones. He revisited the original glass mold to form a smooth front surface that fuses with the classic scooped design on the back to amplify its luminous effect, enhance its solar shape, and reflect infinite possibilities. After "toying with it" for a while, Kapoor eventually decided on a "much simpler design'. The result is a highly collectible limited-edition decanter that is worthy of standing alongside not just the iconic Rémy Martin XO decanter, but also some of Kapoor's previous masterpieces. Kapoor is recognised as one of the world's leading contemporary artists. Featuring a new copper bottle neck and stopper, the decanter is a true work of art. The concave surface of the vast mirror immerses viewers in its dense yet ethereal tones. These are inspired by all the shades of Rémy Martin XO eaux-de-vie - hundreds of hues, ranging from pale gold to dark amber, carefully blended, then patiently aged in French oak casks, browned by time in the darkness of its cellars. As you move around the work, the colours change, with endless rays of reflections coming to light. 'I had to search for this colour,' explains the artist, 'because it's a liquid and as the light changes, it changes - and the concave mirror captures its reflective qualities.' The Rémy Martin XO x Anish Kapoor limited edition collaboration was launched in Malaysia at an event last month held at Private Chamber, Starhill Gallery, KL. Speaking of liquid, Rémy Martin XO is truly a spirit befitting a work of art. The House of Rémy Martin is well known to be the only major House to craft Cognacs Fine Champagne. These are cognacs made exclusively with grapes from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus, with at least 50% eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne as requested by the AOC (Appellation d'origine controllée – Controlled appellation of origin). Rémy Martin XO is its most iconic expression of the House, and provides the perfect balance of fruit and spice, which gives way to an outstanding sensory experience. 'Rémy Martin XO perfectly embodies the heritage and savoir-faire of the Maison," said Jean-Philippe Hecquet, CEO of the House of Rémy Martin. "It is the ultimate expression of our terroir, offering an exceptionally smooth, full-bodied blend of eaux-de-vie from Grande and Petite Champagne that gradually releases a wealth of harmonious aromas. "Its opulent radiance paired with the timeless design of its magnificent decanter has inspired Anish Kapoor whose creation now becomes a part of our brand's enduring legacy.' he concluded. The Rémy Martin XO x Anish Kapoor limited edition retails from RM1,049, and is available in a 700ml format exclusively in The Chamber stores in Starhill, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and Sunway Pyramid, and online at

A mother's recipe for supporting her family
Compiled by C. ARUNO, BENJAMIN LEE and R. ARAVINTHAN THE sudden loss of her job spurred a determined mother in Raub to start a food business to support her family and pay for her daughter's heart treatment, reported Kosmo!. Amizaliana Baharom, 41, runs a small home-based food business after her contract as a cleaner in a palm oil mill was not renewed. She makes kuih sepit, sambal pucuk ubi and sambal kantan with her mother, Narizan Wahab, 61, to sell around the village. 'This is just the beginning. We are producing in small batches and hope more shops will take our products,' she said. From the earnings, Amizaliana helps cover family expenses and finance her 18-year-old daughter Nur Alya Najihah's treatment for a perforated heart. Nur Alya underwent surgery in 2020 at a cost of RM42,000. 'Thankfully, we received some financial assistance, but we still had to pay a portion. She no longer requires medication, but continues to be monitored by doctors,' said Amizaliana. Her husband works as a school security guard, earning about RM2,000 a month and lives apart to care for his elderly father. With limited income, Amizaliana worries about their son who excelled in the STPM and dreams of becoming a teacher. > Actress Siti Saleha has confirmed that she's expecting her first child, ending over a week of viral pregnancy speculation, reported Sinar Harian. The 35-year-old shared the wonderful news with her fans on Instagram, with a photo of her husband Joshua Fitton in Bali. Eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed Siti was also holding up an ultrasound scan. 'We've been keeping it a secret for long. Josh ate a little too much, and his tummy looks really bloated. So I figured I'd match his belly with mine,' she wrote in her post. The above article is compiled from the vernacular newspapers (Bahasa Malaysia, Chinese and Tamil dailies).
