Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds co-owners of SailGP champions
They join Driver and CEO Tom Slingsby in leading the freshly rebranded BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team.
The new co-owners said: 'We're incredibly excited to set sail together in this new adventure.
"Hugh brings a deep love for and pride in his home country as well as being an avid fan of sailing. He will also be bringing his overly clingy emotional support human along for the ride.
"Apologies in advance to Australia. No comment on whether we're writing this in our BONDS. No further questions.'
Founded in 2019 by Sir Russell Coutts and Larry Ellison, SailGP pits 12 national crews in identical 50-foot foiling catamarans, ripping past 100 km/h just metres from shore in the world's most iconic harbours.
Led by Olympic gold medallist Slingsby, Australia has owned the leaderboard, with three championships in four seasons, and now embarks on a new chapter aimed at super-charging fan engagement far beyond the dock.
Tom Slingsby, Driver, CEO & co-owner of the BONDS Flying Roos said: 'This is an incredible milestone for us and for our sport, having global icons Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds come on board as co-owners of our team.
"They bring unmatched star power, a love for storytelling, and a sharp sense of humour that fits perfectly with our team. With BONDS joining as our Title Partner and the launch of the BONDS Flying Roos, we're building something distinctly Australian; a team driven by spirit, resilience, and national pride.'
Andy Thompson, SailGP Director said, 'Today marks a landmark moment not just for the Australia SailGP Team, but for the trajectory of SailGP globally.
"We're thrilled to officially welcome Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds as co-owners of the newly-branded BONDS Flying Roos, bringing with them an extraordinary combination of global reach, vision, commercial nous and no doubt plenty of fun along the way too.'
The BONDS multi-year partnership marks the first time the Australian SailGP Team has had a Title Partner. As both Official Title Partner and Official Underwear Partner, BONDS brings more than a century of Aussie heritage - and signature comfort - to the BONDS Flying Roos.
'BONDS is famous for its signature Aussie spirit and it's no secret that Aussies love sport, being on the water, and just a hint of danger. Enter SailGP, the next exciting chapter in our journey to take BONDS to the world,' said Tanya Deans, President BONDS Australia.
'We're thrilled to join forces with such an iconic duo and an adrenaline-fueled sport ready for its moment in the spotlight. And how do you say no to Hugh Jackman? He's Australian royalty!"
The BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team will make their official debut under their new name and ownership at the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix from June 7-8.
The Australian crew aims to defend their leading position on the leaderboard while striving for a memorable victory to celebrate their new co-owners and partners.
They will then head to UK waters for the highly-anticipated Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix, Portsmouth on July 19-20, kicking off an epic summer of European events.

Zharnel Hughes set to rewrite history as GB's fastest man changes mindset
British record holder over 100m and 200m became a father in the winter and believes new mindset leaves him in a good position to finally land World Championship medal in Tokyo this year Zharnel Hughes is determined to change the nearly man narrative with Britain's fastest sprinter hoping new dad strength can propel him to the global medal he badly craves. The 100m and 200m national record holder last year saw his Paris Olympic dreams shattered by a hamstring injury. But having welcomed a baby boy in mid-winter, Hughes, 29, says he is now looking at life differently as he sets his sights on making up for past disappointments at September's World Championships in Tokyo. When Japan's capital hosted the Games four years ago, he false started in the 100m final and then had a relay silver stripped away after team-mate CJ Ujah was caught doping. But with Hughes' body 'feeling nice and strong' and several solid races already under his belt in Michael Johnson's Grand Slam series, he is in a good place early in an unusually long season. And the prospect of stepping on to the same track that brought the lowest moment of his career brings no sense of fear. 'It would be amazing to rewrite history,' he says. 'I've moved on from (Tokyo), it's long gone now but I'm looking forward to getting out there to compete.' Hughes is keen on manifestation and keeps a daily journal that charts every high and low but rather than the woes of old weigh heavily on his shoulders, his experience is becoming one of his strongest assets. Already this season there have been a couple of races where he has noticed technical issues when transitioning out of the blocks but did not panic and finished strongly. Hughes laughingly says he 'I don't want to think about' turning 30 next month but he has acquired a newfound wisdom. 'I've changed as an athlete,' Hughes says. 'It was always my job but now I know I need to take care of my son. 'I look over at him every day, hear him laugh, and I feel it's changed my mindset. Nothing else matters to me. As long as I'm making him happy and providing for him and the family is good, I'm happy.' He knows setting off soon for a summer tour across Europe before heading to Asia in early autumn will be difficult and they are already practicing FaceTime routines. 'It won't be easy but it has to be done,' he adds, and if he can bring that medal back home it will all prove worthwhile.

James Maddison pays emotional tribute to Ange Postecoglou after Tottenham exit
Tottenham have sacked manager Ange Postecoglou just 16 days after winning the Europa League and James Maddison has shared a tribute to the Australian on social media James Maddison has paid a touching tribute to Ange Postecoglou after he was sacked as Tottenham manager, despite winning the Europa League. Postecoglou spent two seasons in charge of Spurs, guiding them to a fifth placed finish in his first Premier League campaign. However, their league form was awful last season as Tottenham finished just one place above the relegation zone and suffered 22 defeats. They did beat Manchester United in the Europa League final, though, to win their first piece of silverware since 2008 and qualify for next season's Champions League. Despite that victory, Spurs decided to axe Postecoglou and are now looking for a new manager. The likes of Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Fulham's Marco Silva and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola are among the candidates who could replace him. It remains to be seen who ultimately becomes Spurs' next manager, but a number of players have penned emotional farewell messages to Postecoglou. Maddison, who was one of Postecoglou's first signings at the club, wrote on social media: "Gaffer, where to start. Firstly, thank you for bringing me to this wonderful club that I now call my home. "Your instant belief in me to not only sign me but make me the clubs vice captain & part of the leadership group from the get go is something I'll always be thankful for. "Secondly for the Europa league campaign that started in our stadium on gameweek one and finished perfectly with that special night in Bilbao. You led us to victory and we're European champions and in this clubs history books because of you and your winning mentality. "Lastly and most importantly is how you are as a man and a person. Your unwavering self belief and strong mindset is infectious and a massive reason in why you were the man to end this clubs 17 year drought for a trophy. "A family man with great morales & I have honestly learnt so much from you. More than you will probably ever know. All the very best. Madders". Club captain Son Heung-min also shared a similar message on social media, branding Postecoglou a "Tottenham Hotspur legend forever". He wrote: "Gaffer. You've changed the trajectory of this club. "You believed in yourself, and us, since day one and never wavered for a second. Even when others did. You knew what we were capable of all along. You did it your way. And your way brought this club the best night it's had in decades. We will have those memories for life. "You trusted me with the captaincy. One of the highest honours of my career. It's been an incredible privilege to learn from your leadership up close, I am a better player and a better person because of you. Ange Postecoglou, you are a Tottenham Hotspur legend forever. Thank you, mate." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Simone Biles calls Riley Gaines 'sick' over criticism of transgender athletes
Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles is going head-to-head with one of the most vocal opponents of transgender girls and women competing in female sports, former college swimmer Riley Gaines. Biles — the most decorated Olympic gymnast is history — called the former college athlete 'sick' and a 'sore loser' in a post on X Friday night. 'You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports,' Biles, 28, wrote. 'Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!!' 'But instead… You bully them,' Biles continued. 'One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!' As a college swimmer, Gaines tied for fifth place in a competition with then-University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, who is transgender, in 2022. Since then, Gaines has largely built a career as a pundit in conservative media advocating against trans women competing in female sports, arguing that it is unfair to include them in competition and their inclusion is at times unsafe for other competitors. Gaines, 25, has also built an enormous following on social media, with over 1.5 million followers on X, where she regularly lambastes and mocks transgender athletes. On Friday, Gaines posted an image of a Minnesota girls high school baseball team, which supposedly includes a trans player. She appeared to taunt the player, referring to her as a boy, which appears to have elicited Biles' response. Gaines almost immediately responded to Biles' criticism in a series of posts on X. 'This is so disappointing. My take is the least controversial take on the planet,' Gaines wrote. 'Simone Biles being a male-apologist at the expense of young girls' dreams? Didn't have that on my bingo card.' The issues of trans girls and women competing in female sports has become a lightning rod issue in the United States in recent years. In February, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aiming to prohibit transgender women and girls from competing in female sports.
