Family in direct plea to missing woman after man arrested on suspicion of murder
The family of a missing woman have made a direct appeal for her to come home as a man was questioned on suspicion of kidnap and murder.
Reanne Coulson, 34, was last seen in Coventry in May and concerns were raised by her family after she failed to make contact with them on her birthday on June 17.
A man aged 53, who was known to Reanne, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and kidnap, but West Midlands Police say they are still searching for her.
Her twin sister Kirsten Coulson said the family are 'worried sick' and have vowed to find her 'no matter what' in an emotional press conference more than a month after she was last seen.
In a press conference at West Midlands Police's headquarters in Birmingham, Kirsten, brothers Luke and Tom Coulson and mother Lynne Sparkes, who held up a photo of her missing daughter, sobbed and comforted each other as they pleaded for information.
She urged her sister, who was last seen near Vauxhall Street at 9.46pm on May 21, to 'stay strong' and asked anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.
She said her sister was known to work as a sex worker in the area and lived a 'chaotic' life.
She said: 'We know that this is where Reanne is known to work from as a sex worker. If anyone in the area knows or works with Reanne or has seen her, we ask that they get in touch.
'Her lifestyle has not been easy for the past few years and we as a family are aware that she lives a chaotic life.
'Since she was last seen, Reanne has not made any contact with us whatsoever and her birthday is on the 17th of June. We share our birthday together.
'It's just out of the ordinary for her not to come home.
'Please, if anybody knows of anything or what she was doing that day or who she was with, (it) will help. We are worried sick and need your help to find her.'
She said: 'She's loved by many, and she's a proper woman. Please just help find her and bring her family some closure.
'Stay strong Reanne, we will find you, no matter what.'
Her brother Luke Coulson said: 'I just want to send a personal message to you Reanne if you can hear me out there – please, please, come home or contact mum and dad, we're all worried sick about you and waiting for you.
'Me, mum, Kirsten, dad, Tom, all the kids are worried sick.
'You ain't in any trouble. We just want you home. Please, please, come home, Reanne please.'
The force said Reanne is known to have previously travelled around Coventry, Atherstone and Leamington Spa in Warwickshire.
Officers investigating her disappearance have released CCTV of her near St Mary and Benedict Church on Raglan Street in Coventry to encourage anyone who may have seen her to come forward.
A food bank was in operation at the time and Reanne was last seen leaving the church with food and a carrier bag.
She is believed to be wearing a black hoodie with large red writing on rear, black jeans with tears to the front, and white footwear as well as a small black handbag worn to the left side.
Speaking at the press conference after the family, Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from West Midlands Police, said people who may have been in the area at the time Reanne was last seen may be reluctant to come forward because sex workers operate from there.
He said: 'I urge people to come forward and speak with the police. Her family have already explained that she's led a chaotic lifestyle and we believe people may be reluctant to speak to us because of that lifestyle or criminality that they may be involved in.
'What we would urge them to do is think of their consciences and provide the police with information in relation to where Reanne is now and where she has been since we last confirmed a sighting of her in Vauxhall Street in Coventry on the 21st of May this year and come forward and speak with the police.'
He added: 'Her family have been very clear that Reanne is involved in sex work and as part of our missing person inquiry we are keen to speak to people who have been in the Vauxhall Street area, particularly on the 21st of May, just before 10pm in the evening and into the 22nd of May, where we believe Reanne may well still have been in the area.
'I accept that that may present some difficulties for people who are in that area at that time because we know that the area is frequented by sex workers. However, I urge people to come forward and provide information to the police.
'There are ways people can provide information to the police, Crimestoppers is completely anonymous, it's a charity, it's not linked to the police.
'I would urge people to make sure that we get that information to assist that investigation.'
He added that he 'would not speculate' in relation to the arrest of a man who is helping with their inquiries.
He said: 'As part of an investigative process, someone has been arrested and he's helping the police with our inquiries, however we have a limited time to speak with that individual and by the early hours of tomorrow morning, that clock is up.
'So, we urge people to come forward to provide us with information in regards to her whereabouts.'

Drunk care worker and single mother fined after rampage where they fought police officers after being barred from a club
Two boozed-up women who went on an explosive foul-mouthed rampage outside a jazz and blues bar when they were barred for being off their faces have been fined. Drunk care worker Eloise Hindry, 22, brawled with two police officers while single mother Bethany Hill yelled: 'You f***ing pair of k***heads' at bar founder Wayne Saunders and his manager when they were told to leave over their boorish behaviour. The mayhem exploded outside Tallulahs Emporium in the quaint seaside suburb of New Brighton on The Wirral, Cheshire. 'Distressed' customers watched on in disbelief as the two glamorous party girls kicked at the front door demanding to be let back in, a court heard. Enraged Hindry was screeching and swearing, throwing her arms around and 'aggressively' getting in regulars' faces before she was taken to the floor by cops during a violent struggle. Disgraced young mother Hill, 28, had to be dragged out of the venue after blasting through a back door before being thrown into a police van, where she spat on the floor in a fit of rage. When quizzed, Hindry, of Moreton on The Wirral, said: 'I accept I was intoxicated but I do not remember acting in that way. I have never behaved in that way before.' Hill, from nearby Leasowe, claimed she had left her phone on charge on the bar and lost her temper when she was confronted as she tried to collect it. At Sefton Magistrates' Court both women admitted using threatening behaviour towards Mr Saunders and causing criminal damage to the door of his club. Hindry also admitted assaulting the two officers and obstructing police while Hill, who is mother to a 13-year-old girl, also admitted criminal damage to the police vehicle. Hindrey was ordered to pay £50 compensation to each of two officers while Hill had to pay £158 to have the police van cleaned. Both were each ordered to go halves on the £285 bill for damage to the door and each pay £164 in costs and a surcharge. The chaos occurred on August 31 last year when the two women turned up at Mr Saunder's venue, which is famed for its retro record player, live soul and jazz nights, gypsy jazz showcases and cheese and charcuterie boards. Describing the rampage, prosecutor Renee Southern said: 'The defendants were very drunk and were asked to leave the premises due to their behaviour. Whilst outside they became very heated and loud and insisted they wanted to come back into the bar. 'Mr Saunders went outside and he made the decision not to allow the both back inside due to the defendants' behaviour. But Miss Hill went to the back of the public house and accessed the fire exit and she was escorted out. 'Mr Saunders described the defendants as getting more and more angry, shouting and screaming abuse. Customers both inside and outside could hear and see what was happening. 'They were shouting abuse at Mr Saunders and the bar manager, basically calling them a "F***ing pair of k***heads" and saying, "What's it f***ing got to do with you?". Hindry was screeching and swearing, throwing her arms around and 'aggressively', getting in regulars' faces before she was taken to the floor by cops 'This continued for about 15 minutes. Mr Saunders was able to close the entrance down to the bar to prevent entry of the defendants but both defendants proceeded to kick the door a number of times causing damage.' Police were then called, with officers seeing Hindry 'shouting and swearing and throwing her arms around', Ms Southern told magistrates. 'A number of people were clearly distressed by the behaviour, moving away and shaking their heads,' the prosecutor added. Hindry's rage continued to boil over despite being asked to calm down, the court heard. 'She was escorted to a police vehicle but she kicked one of the officers in the left leg, causing a small bruise and attempted to pull away and continued to resist him,' Ms Southern continued. 'She was taken to the floor where a scuffle broke out. The other constable provided assistance but Hindry kicked them to the chest. They restrained her until further patrol arrived.' While at the scene, officers spotted a drunken Hill and arrested her, before transporting her to Wirral's custody suite in a van. 'En route, she spat in the van causing damage that needed to be cleaned,' Ms Southern added. Hill had one previous conviction for an undisclosed matter while Hindry had no previous offences on her record. For Hindry, who claims Universal Credit and carer's allowance, Quentin Neal said: 'Naturally she wanted to see the body worn footage and when she watched that she was shocked and disgusted. She was horrified by her behaviour. 'It was not someone she recognised, not a way that she would ever wish to behave in normal life. She has worked in the care field but due to this conviction, that will be difficult in the future. 'It is an isolated incident, in drink, by someone not normally a drinker. She is not going to behave in his way again. My client wants to apologise.' Carole Clarke, defending Hill, said: 'Clearly it is an incident fuelled by drink and was out of character for her. She would not normally behave in that way. By way of an explanation, she never actually went into the pub. She was outside but somebody put her phone on charge inside. 'There was an issue and she attempted to go back into the pub to get her phone but there was a confrontation. She does regret her behaviour and looking back on it, she realises it is unlawful and unacceptable. It is not normally the sort of behaviour that she engages in. Magistrate Brian O'Connell, chairman of the bench, told the pair: 'I think you both agree this is a pretty nasty incident.' As well as being fined, both women were also ordered to complete a 12-month community order and ten days of rehabilitation activity. Hindry was told to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work and Hill 80 hours.

‘Mystery liquid' found in English coastal town prompts evacuation of 160 homes
A bottle of mystery liquid in a house in Eastbourne has caused the evacuation of 160 homes on Tuesday morning. Police were called to an address in Hyde Road at 5.27pm on Monday evening after receiving reports of an unidentified liquid. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended to assess the item, with residents in nearby properties advised to stay indoors while access to the area was restricted. It was then decided that a planned evacuation of those living in the vicinity would take place on Tuesday 24 June, with residents from six different streets asked to leave their homes by 9am. Sussex Police officers remain at the scene while the roads are closed, with no immediate risk to the public. Detective Superintendent Jon Robeson said: 'Our priority is to keep people safe. We are satisfied that there is no immediate risk to residents and an evacuation of nearby homes can be completed safely and effectively during daylight hours to minimise impact on the local residents. 'We will have a number of uniformed officers present on Tuesday morning to assist with the planned evacuation and offer further advice. 'We would encourage residents of Hyde Road, Camden Road, Calverley Road, West Terrace, Bath Road and Grove Road to leave their addresses by 9am. 'We appreciate the support of residents and the wider community who will be affected by the necessary precautionary actions we need to take, and hopefully they will be able to swiftly return to their homes. 'I would like to thank them for their patience and understanding while we bring this incident to a safe conclusion. 'The item is secure and the road closed, and a number of police will be present to provide reassurance as we work with emergency services and other partner agencies to minimise disruption. 'Public safety is our priority, and the cordon will take in around 160 homes. We will allow residents to return to their homes as soon as it is safe for them to do so.'

Two arrested after man fatally stabbed in Hounslow street
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed in south-west London. The Metropolitan Police was called to Hanworth Road, Hounslow, at 14:21 BST on Sunday to reports of a stabbing. The man was treated by paramedics for stab wounds before being taken to hospital where he later died. His family are being supported by specialist men, aged 27 and 37 remain in custody for questioning, the force added. Supt James Rawlinson said: "We are aware of the effect this horrendous incident has had on the local community, and have designated officers on reassurance patrols, to answer questions that you may have."Residents will continue to see increased police presence whilst this investigation remains ongoing."I encourage anyone who has information but may not have contacted police yet to get in touch and assist with this investigation."Please rest assured we are working at pace on this investigation, which is ongoing."
