CMA Fest 2025: See which roads plan to close in downtown Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Road closures are scheduled to begin this week in downtown Nashville as the city prepares for the world's longest-running Country music festival to return.
CMA Fest will take place from June 5-8. However, road closures are set to begin as early as Thursday, May 29, days before the four-day festival is set to begin.
According to festival organizers, here are road closures for the CMA Fest 2025:
1st Avenue from Demonbreun to Broadway
Northbound lane of 1st Avenue from Broadway to Church Street
Alley behind Acme Feed/13 Aly from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue
Alley behind Acme and Pesca Lot/12 Aly from Pedestrian Bridge to 13 Aly
Beginning at 7 a.m., all of these roads will close and are not expected to open until 7 p.m. Monday, June 9.

Meanwhile, 1st Ave. from Molloy Street to Demonbreun is expected to reopen at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4.
The westbound lane of Demonbreun from 4th Avenue to Rep. John Lewis Way will close at 9 a.m. and reopen by 7 p.m.
One lane of Demonbreun from 4th Avenue to Rep. John Lewis Way will close at 9 am. and reopen at 7 p.m.
Rep. John Lewis Way from Demonbreun to Broadway will close at 6 a.m.
At 7 a.m., 1st Avenue from Broadway to Church Street will close
Both routes are scheduled to reopen by 8 p.m. Monday, June 9.
Additionally, the westbound lane of Demonbreun from 4th Avenue to Rep. John Lewis Way will close at 9 a.m. and reopen by 7 p.m.
At midnight, the following routes will close to traffic flow:
South 1st Street from Woodland Street to Russell Street
Russell Street from 2nd Street to Titans Way
Titans Way from Russell Street to Victory Avenue
Victory Avenue from Titans Way to South 2nd Street
All of those routes will remains closed through June 10.
In addition to the closures above, Broadway from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue, and a westbound lane of Demonbreun from 4th Avenue to Rep. John Lewis Way, will close at 7 a.m.
Symphony Place from 3rd Avenue to 4th Avenue will close at 7 a.m. and is scheduled to reopen around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10.

Meanwhile, a westbound lane of Demonbreun from 4th Avenue to Rep. John Lewis Way will stay closed until 7 p.m. In addition to that closure, Broadway from 2nd Avenue to 4th Avenue will reopen at 3 a.m. on Monday, June 9.

Northbound lane of 6th Avenue South from Korean Veteans Boulevard to Demonbreun
Eastbound lane of Commerce Street from Rep. John Lewis Way to 3rd Avenue North
Northbound lane of South 1st Street from 2nd Street to Victory Avenue
All of those routes will remains closed through June 9.
Both Rep. John Lewis Way from Korean Veterans Boulevard to Demonbreun Street, and Demonbreun from Rep. John Lewis Way from 6th Avenue, will stay closed until 7 p.m.
From 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Rep. John Lewis Way from Korean Veterans Boulevard, and Demonbreun from Rep. John Lewis Way to 6th Avenue, will be closed.
Rep. John Lewis Way from Korean Veterans Boulevard to Demonbreun Street, and Demonbreun from Rep. John Lewis Way to 6th Avenue, will be closed from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Beginning at 7 a.m., traffic will be closed on Rep. John Lewis Way from Korean Veterans Boulevard to Demonbreun, and Demonbreun from Rep. John Lewis Way to 6th Avenue. Officials said the roads should reopen by 7 p.m.
The westbound lane of Demonbreun from 4th Avenue to Rep. John Lewis Way will be closed until 10 p.m.
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the northbound lane of 1st Avenue from Demonbreun to Church Street will remain closed.

Jun. 6—John D.H. Harris John D.H. Harris passed away May 4, 2025 at a local hospital. He was in poor health for some months prior. Survivors are wife of 41 years, Mary Harris, son David Minall (Tracey), daughter Pam Gilsenan, grandchildren Leanne Minall (Tom), Ross Minall, Liam Gilsenan, Kerry Gilsenan. Katharine Ofcarzik (Rick). John was born April 1933 in Surrey, England. He received a Technical degree in England and rose to chief engineer at Decca Radar in London with a specialty in telecommunications. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1968 and began working in various technical fields, leading to a long career in General Instrument. He was remarkable for his contributions to many branches of creative engineering: if you ever used high definition television, a satellite dish, an IBM machine, a programmable thermostat, or driven a GM or Ford card with computerized dashboard, you have met John Harris. After retiring from GI, he worked for a local firm producing medical research equipment, including Laser Tweezers. In his own LLC company, he completed diverse projects for Los Alamos, Sandia, as well as for private individuals and companies. He was coding on his computer well up until poor health overtook him. At home, he also crafted model airplanes and grew tomatoes. Friends and acquaintances recall John as a warm and generous man, with a British wit and sense of humor that never quit. He was dedicated to high technology that has improved daily life for mankind. And no job was too small for him to lend a hand. John loved the East Mountains. It reminded him of England and Wales. He will remain with us in the East Mountains where he wished to stay. A Celebration of Life service is planned and will be announced in the near future.

Stormy weather leads to outdoor stage suspensions, delays at CMA Fest
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Severe weather is rolling through Middle Tennessee Friday, including Nashville, where thousands of people have gathered for CMA Fest. A Tornado Watch is currently in effect for parts of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 6. While Davidson County is not covered by the watch, the area is still experiencing rainy weather. Severe storms possible through the weekend The Country Music Association announced on social media platform X at 3:08 p.m. that all outdoor daytime stages and nighttime performances at the Hard Rock Stage are suspended for the rest of the day. Attendees were urged to take shelter immediately or head to Fan Fair X inside Music City Center to enjoy more music. In addition, organizers said the opening of the gates at Nissan Stadium and Ascend Amphitheater will be delayed at least 90 minutes due to incoming storms. WATCH: Severe weather plan for CMA Fest 2025 The weather team for CMA Fest tracks any lightning activity within an 8-mile radius of the event, so if a strike happens within that zone, the festivities pause for 30 minutes, according to officials.
