KOTA KINABALU (June 24): Police have confirmed the arrest of three individuals involved in the Gempur Rasuah Sabah 2.0 rally following the recording of their statements on Tuesday.
Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Kasim Muda, said the arrests were made at the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters under the Sedition Act and in connection with the burning of a caricature of the Prime Minister during the rally.
'After giving statements regarding the incident where a student's car was doused with acid during the Gempur Rasuah Sabah 2.0 rally, the three were arrested under the Sedition Act and for the burning of a caricature of the Prime Minister,' he said when contacted on Tuesday.
Earlier, two Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) students and a former UMS graduate had been called in to provide statements in connection with the acid attack on a student's vehicle, which reportedly occurred on the second day of the rally on June 22.
