Owen Farrell's final audition for British and Irish Lions selection ended early as England's record point-scorer suffered a head injury in Racing 92's 29-15 Challenge Cup semi-final loss to Lyon.Farrell is in contention for a call-up by his father and Lions head coach Andy Farrell, who will announce his touring squad on Thursday, but the 33-year-old was replaced in the 19th minute in the latest setback in an injury-hit season.The semi-final was scoreless when Farrell, playing for Racing at inside centre for the first time, went off injured.The former Saracens playmaker was playing in just his 17th match for Racing this season, and is up for Lions selection alongside fly-halves Finn Russell, Fin Smith, Sam Prendergast, Marcus Smith and George Ford.After Farrell's injury Leo Berdeu kicked Lyon into the lead and Vincent Rattez scored the hosts' opening try before Racing hit back through Diego Escobar.Lyon responded after half-time and Beka Saginadze crossed for their second try after another Berdeu penalty but, as in the first half, Racing replied quickly with a try through Kleo Labarbe.The visitors, though, lacked a cutting edge in attack as Berdeu landed another couple of penalties to end the game with a 19-point haul and book Lyon a place in the Challenge Cup final against Bath in three weeks.

That decision may have cost United, with Onana's form failing to pick up in the second half of the season. The 29-year-old made a series of errors, including two in a 2-2 draw against Lyon in the first leg of their crucial Europa League quarter-final. It came after Onana had been involved in a war of words with former United - and now Lyon - midfielder Matic. Matic had taken exception to Onana claiming Lyon are a 'very good team' but that 'I think we are better than them', branding the shot-stopper 'one of the worst goalkeepers in Man United history'. Onana's words came back to haunt him as he made mistakes for both Lyon goals and he was jeered by the French side's supporters throughout the game. His poor form culminated in being replaced by Altay Bayinidir, who made his own clanger during United's 4-1 loss to Newcastle. TYC Sports also claim that United will be interested in Martinez if he leaves Villa this summer. The Argentine, who was named the Best Fifa Men's Goalkeeper for the second time in three years in December, looks set to leave Villa Park. The 32-year-old moved to Aston Villa five years ago from Arsenal and has shone, reaching the Champions League quarter-finals this season. He appeared to bid farewell to Villa fans and was in tears during their final home game, a 2-0 win over Tottenham, last month. He was then sent off in the final Premier League game of the season - a 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford which saw Villa miss out on the Champions League to Newcastle. Asked about his future ahead of Argentina's upcoming World Cup qualifiers, Martinez said: 'I don't know, I come here to play for the national team, and that's the only thing that matters to me right now.

He then took charge of football operations at the club and has been in that role for a year trying to implement change at the club. At least 11 people die in stampede at Indian Premier League victory celebration
At least 11 people have died and more than 30 have been injured after a stampede at a cricket stadium in southern India, authorities said. The crush happened as tens of thousands of cricket fans gathered outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru city to celebrate the winners of the Indian Premier League, the world's most popular T20 cricket tournament. The chief minister of Karnataka state, where the stampede happened, said the crowd had tried to break down one of the stadium's gates and enter to take part in celebrations. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said most of the injured were stable and receiving treatment in hospitals. "At a time of celebration, this unfortunate event should not have happened. We are saddened by this," he told reporters. "No one expected this crowd." Cricket fans had come out to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru's first Indian Premier League title win on Tuesday. The team had given away free passes to fans for the event through its website and urged them to follow guidelines set by police and authorities. Local TV news channels showed some people stretched out on the ground and emergency personnel carrying people into ambulances, while celebrations inside the stadium continued. D.K. Shivakumar, the deputy chief minister of Karnataka state, told reporters that the crowd was "very uncontrollable". The Board of Control for Cricket in India, which organises the IPL, called the incident 'unfortunate" in a statement. 'This is a negative side of popularity. People are crazy for their cricketers. Stampedes are relatively common in India when large crowds gather.
