in his first film and the actor said he was very happy about it. He added, "Joh bhi Dev Sahab ne diya, prashad samajh ke le liya. Woh aashirwaad hi tha. Phir Subhash Ghai ne role de diya, us Dev ke aashirwad se."
Earlier, on Kunickaa Sadanand's podcast, Shroff had said, 'When Dev Sahab told me to do the role in Shakti Kapoor's gang and villain's den mein Shakti Kapoor ka chamcha ban gaya main (I became Shakti Kapoor's henchman in the villain's den). My demotion happened in 15 days, from the second lead to the third villain. I went back home and told my mother I got a villain's role (laughs)."
Jackie was living in a chawl and met Dev Anand through his son Suniel who he did acting class with during his modelling days. That's how he got into this small role in his film 'Swami Dada'.

Nagarjuna's relentless chase: How he sought after Mani Ratnam for a month that led to 'Geethanjali'
Picture Credit: X Veteran actor Nagarjuna recently opened up about the turning point in his career while appearing on Jagapathi Babu's talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa. The star recalled how he relentlessly pursued filmmaker Mani Ratnam every single day for a month to convince him to make a film together, a collaboration that ultimately resulted in the cult classic 'Geethanjali'. Early days in cinema Nagarjuna shared that when he began his career, he knew very little about movies and largely relied on his legendary father Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), for guidance. His debut film 'Vikram', a remake of Jackie Shroff's 'Hero', clicked with audiences mainly out of curiosity to watch ANR's son on the big screen. "I did around seven films after that, but they were more for the sake of doing them," he admitted. His true breakthrough with the mass audience came with 'Aakhari Poratam' (1988), thanks to director K. Raghavendra Rao and actress Sridevi. "I was like a doll in that film," Nagarjuna said, crediting the team for the film's success. Interestingly, it was Mani Ratnam's 'Mouna Ragam' that inspired him to chase a project he genuinely believed in. "I was unhappy with my films and wanted to do something I liked. After watching Mouna Ragam, I felt I would do well in a Mani Ratnam film," Nagarjuna revealed. Chasing Mani Ratnam Determined to work with the acclaimed filmmaker, the actor found out that Mani Ratnam lived in Poes Garden, Chennai, and that he went for walks every morning at 6 AM. Nagarjuna then began meeting him during those walks, persisting for nearly a month. "He would let me talk for 10 minutes avoiding me. But during our brief meetings, I convinced him to work with me. That's when we made Geethanjali," he recalled. 'Geethanjali' has become a cult classic. The romantic drama tells the moving story of two terminally ill youngsters falling in love. Currently, Nagarjuna is seen in the Rajinikanth starrer 'Coolie', where the 'Mass' star is seen in the role of an antagonist named "Simon". Before Rangoli, her parents had a son named Hero, who survived for only ten to Kangana's account, the family believes that the death of Hero resulted from medical negligence. Her father had named the baby Hero, but his short life was cut off under distressing circumstances. Despite being a healthy newborn weighing 3.5 kilograms and showing no signs of complications, he passed away just days after birth. Kangana explained that her mother attributed this tragedy to hospital staff mishandling the cutting of the umbilical cord. The loss devastated her parents, and her grandmother soon imposed a household rule forbidding childbirth in hospitals. Following this tragedy, childbirth practices in Kangana's family changed entirely. Her grandmother declared that all future deliveries would take place at home. As a result, Kangana's mother went on to give birth to three more children, and her aunt delivered twice, all within the same house and even in the same room. This generational decision stemmed from a fear of repeating the trauma caused by what the family believed to be medical oversight."My mother believes it was the carelessness of the hospital staff that killed her son, as they cut his umbilical cord incorrectly. After that, my grandmother took over and declared that none of us would be born in a hospital. After this incident, my mother conceived three more times and my aunt twice, and all of us were born in the same house, in the same room. Hospitals were banned for us," she revealed. Beyond this personal history, Kangana also highlighted how gender bias shaped her childhood experiences. She revealed that patriarchy ran deep in her family culture. As she recalled, while her parents today feel uneasy about those attitudes, back then it was common for relatives to ridicule and restrict girls. She remembered being told to remain indoors or criticized for not learning certain skills, with relatives warning that her behavior could jeopardize her elder sister's chances of marriage. These repeated comments strained her connection with her siblings and left her with a sense of isolation during her formative to her professional front, Kangana was last seen in the film Emergency, a political drama where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Despite its ambitious subject, the film managed to collect only around ₹21 crore at the box office, marking it as a commercial disappointment.
