
One arrested & two minors detained for assault on truck driver at Nashik APMC
The incident, which occurred late on Wednesday, was reported to the Panchavati police station. According to inspector Gajendra Patil of the Panchavati police, the victim — 27-year-old Suraj Brahmanavat from Vaijapur taluka in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district — was assaulted around 11.30pm.
Brahmanavat was packing his belongings when four people approached him and demanded money. When he refused, they attacked him, forcibly taking Rs21,000 from him.
One of the assailants also struck him on the head with a stone. Police have detained two juveniles, who have been sent to a Juvenile Home.
One adult accused has been arrested and remanded to three-day police custody, while the fourth person remains at large. All the attackers are residents of Nashik city.
Patil said that police have strong leads and expect to apprehend the absconding individual soon.
On June 22, the body of a truck driver from Karnataka was found near Chamar Leni on the outskirts of the city. Investigation revealed that he was killed by a group of four.
This incident is equally serious, considering it occurred in the city and involved two minors. The truck drivers have expressed a need for the safety of the truckers who carry out their business at night.

Agency: Bulandshahr (UP), Aug 19 (PTI) A local court here on Tuesday sentenced 12 people to life imprisonment and imposed fines on them in connection with a 2012 murder case. District Government Counsel (Criminal) Rahul Upadhyay said the case stemmed from an old enmity between one Rais and Yusuf's family in the Kotwali Nagar area. On August 21, 2012, Rais's relative Azad, a resident of Khurja, was attacked. A case was registered immediately, which allegedly triggered a retaliatory assault three days later. On August 24, 2012, 15 men allegedly attacked Rais' family, killing his nephew Wahid by gunfire. The attackers later reached one Nasur's house and assaulted Meena and Rashid, causing injuries, Upadhyay said. Of the 15 named accused, three died during court proceedings. On Tuesday, District and Sessions Judge Manjit Singh Sheoran convicted the remaining 12 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and awarded them life imprisonment. Each convict was fined Rs 50,500, while four who were found in possession of firearms were fined an additional Rs 5,000 each, taking their total penalty to Rs 55,500, Upadhyay said. History-sheeter held for robbing man at gunpoint
Pune: The Shirgaon police on Sunday arrested a 24-year-old criminal on police records, who was on the run after robbing a private company worker (20) of Rs1,000 at gunpoint around 9.30pm on Saturday at Urse village in Maval taluka while the victim was returning to his home. Senior inspector Vishal Patil and his team from the Shirgaon police carried out searches and apprehended the suspect, Hrishikesh Adagale of Urse. "We have recovered a country-made pistol from Adagale," Patil told TOI. The officer said that the victim was walking to his home from his company. At this point, Adagale, stopped him and beat him. When the victim tried to resist, Adagale took out a firearm and threatened him. "The suspect then forcibly took the victim's wallet and robbed Rs1,000 from it," the officer said.
