Kanye West flees to Tokyo to ‘decompress' after vulgar social media rants that may land him in legal trouble
Insiders told TMZ Monday that the 'Bound 2' rapper traveled from Los Angeles to Japan last week and 'instantly calmed down.'
Sources claimed that being in Tokyo makes West feel 'completely disconnected and calm,' while LA 'can be a trigger' for him.
According to the report, the Yeezy designer's wife, Bianca Censori, checked out of the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood on Monday, though it's unclear whether she plans to join her husband amid their marital woes.
The 24-time Grammy winner's most recent social media antics started on March 15 when he got into a heated argument with Kardashian over the release of a song featuring their eldest child, North West, Christian 'King' Combs and Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
Kanye, 47, uploaded an alleged screenshot of a text exchange between himself and Kardashian, 44, discussing the trademark of the 11-year-old's name.
'I sent paperwork over so she wouldn't be in the Diddy song to protect her,' the 'Kardashians' star wrote, adding, 'One person has to trademark!'
'Amend it or I'm going to war,' Kanye responded. 'And neither of us will recover from the public fallout.'
'You're going to have to kill me,' he concluded.
The 'Heartless' rapper later took to X to accuse the 'Kardashian mob' of restricting his parenting and attempting to put him in jail.
Sources told Page Six that Kardashian wants to keep the kids away from their father's controversial behavior and doesn't want North professionally tied to Diddy.
According to TMZ, the Skims mogul is contemplating stripping Kanye of joint custody.
Kanye and Kardashian — who finalized their divorce in 2022 — share four kids: North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
Last week, a video surfaced of Kanye on a phone call with Diddy, who warned the 'All Falls Down' rapper of people who were 'trying to end [them].'
The Bad Boys Records founder, 55, also thanked Kanye for showing up for his kids as he sits behind bars awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
The 'Stronger' rapper's controversies continued the next day when he inexplicably questioned the mental capacity of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's twins, Rumi and Sir, 7.
Kanye later backtracked on his disrespectful remarks out of fear that his X account would be suspended.
Page Six learned that the music power couple is 'discussing' taking legal action against Kanye for the 'offensive and vulgar' attack.

'It's always Kendall telling a story with her hands,' the Rhode founder wrote. Her playful comment quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of likes, with Jenner joining in on the fun by replying, 'God forbid I'm a visual storyteller.' Hailey and Kendall have been close friends for over a decade. The Kardashians star was part of the Biebers' wedding celebration in 2019, and the two even dressed up as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie from their Simple Life days for Halloween in 2024. Earlier this summer, the longtime friends went paintballing together, and the outing quickly turned hilariously competitive. In one moment captured on Kendall's Instagram Story, Hailey playfully flipped her the bird after the game. Justin also shared several other photos from his night out in L.A., including a cute selfie with Hailey. 'Secrets out we're dating!' she joked in the comments. The 'All I Can Take' singer's Instagram photo dump also included snaps of himself taking a cigarette break outside the bar, racking pool balls and dancing with a cue stick. Meanwhile, the Bieber family is gearing up to celebrate their son, Jack Blues' first birthday on Aug. 22. Last month, Justin gave fans a glimpse of their baby boy during a visit to the recording studio, where he was likely working on his latest album, Swag. The project dropped on July 11 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Check out Bieber's photo with Jenner on Instagram here. Chappell Roan's New Single Brings Her To Never-Before-Seen Highs
Just a few days after being properly released, Chappell Roan's new single 'The Subway' has turned out to be one of the biggest of her career. The tune is off to a fantastic start across several Billboard charts worldwide and in America, as it seems that there is a serious demand for anything new from the singer-songwriter and current holder of the Best New Artist Grammy. 'The Subway' doesn't just earn a lofty beginning, it helps the pop star climb higher than ever on multiple tallies. Chappell Roan's New Career Peaks 'The Subway' opens at No. 3 on both the Hot 100, America's list of the most consumed songs in the country, and on the Billboard Global 200, which ranks the biggest tracks all around the planet. No. 3 now stands as Roan's all-time career high on both of those rankings. On the Hot 100, she previously stalled at No. 4 with both 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'Pink Pony Club.' Globally, 'Good Luck, Babe!' — which peaked at No. 5 — stood out as her highest-rising title until this frame. Chappell Roan Almost Hits No. 1 for the First Time Roan almost scores her first No. 1 on the Streaming Songs tally, which looks specifically at the tunes that rack up the most plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, iHeartRadio, Tidal, and others in the United States. On that list, 'The Subway' begins its time in the runner-up space, losing out to 'Golden' from the movie KPop: Demon Hunters. Just as is the case on the Hot 100, Roan has seen two tunes peak at No. 4 on the Streaming Songs list, although 'Pink Pony Club' only galloped to No. 6 as both 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'The Giver' worked their way to No. 4. 'The Subway' Launches Inside the Top 10 Everywhere 'The Subway' also enters the top 10 on two other Billboard rankings. The track is new at No. 4 on the Digital Song Sales chart and No. 10 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., though those do not mark new peak positions for the rising pop musician on those lists. 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'The Giver' Join 'The Subway' 'The Subway' is the latest single from Roan that continues her global success, which is not featured on her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. That set did produce tracks like 'Pink Pony Club,' 'Hot to Go!,' and 'Red Wine Supernova.' While many of her most famous cuts — including 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'The Giver' — are likely to be featured on a forthcoming project, though Roan has no timetable for when she may finish her sophomore full-length.

Everything We Know About Steve Lacy's New Album ‘Oh Yeah?'
Rolling Stone's September cover star Steve Lacy is getting ready to release Oh Yeah? his follow-up to 2022's Gemini Rights. The Grammy-winning musician best known for the smash hit 'Bad Habit' says that on this album, he's focused on being as transparent as possible, which means letting fans in on more of his personality. Today, he dropped 'Nice Shoes,' a single that he describes as a 'trailer' for his upcoming album. The track hints at some new sonic territory for Lacy, featuring a fast-paced jungle-inspired breakbeat. He maintains the elements of his classic sound, however, towards the song's end, which segues into a slow-rolling guitar melody that's classic Steve Lacy. 'I feel safe enough and close enough to start talking about it now, and get the title out and just get the energy in the air,' Lacy says of his upcoming album. 'I've never worked where I kind of announce it while I'm still working on it. I feel like rappers work until the last minute.' More from Rolling Stone Steve Lacy Shares Album Merch and a New Single 'Nice Shoes' Steve Lacy Is One of Modern Pop's Most Unique Talents. Just Don't Make a Big Deal About It Fousheé Announces First-Ever 'Pointy Heights' U.S. Tour Here's everything we know about Steve Lacy's upcoming album Oh Yeah? He started working on the record shortly after It's been three years since Lacy's Grammy-winning album Gemini Rights. He says he started work on this next album shortly after. 'I just kind of got in the studio right away. I'm always making things. It's just what I do to hang out. I just make beats.' What about that title? As for what inspired him to call his album Oh Yeah?, all Lacy says in his cover store is, 'the question's important.' His new single, 'Nice Shoes' is a 'trailer' for the album On Friday, Lacy dropped 'Nice Shoes,' his first new release since 2022. With lyrics that volley between playful and insightful (Lacy at one point muses on a 'romantic boner,' as he describes it), the track leans on a fierce breakbeat that serves as a backdrop for Lacy's specific brand of songwriting. 'Crazy how you could be sad and not notice,' he sings. 'All I need is my guitar and serotonin.' He's thinking more about lyrics than he has in the past Despite being best known for infectious hooks, Lacy says he approached lyrics far more intentionally on this new album. 'When I first started making shit or producing stuff with the Internet, I would always make the beat, make a hook, and just give it away,' he says. 'That was my process for a while, so words were always just kind of secondary. I'm like, 'If my beat hard, this bass line hard, the chords hard, what else do we need?' But now I'm like, 'OK, I want to say shit how I would say shit.' ' According to the Internet's Matt Martians, the album sounds like pop classics from an earlier time Matt Martians of the Internet, the experimental R&B where Lacy got his start, says he's heard some songs from the album and compares it to the pop standards of yesteryear. 'When I heard the album, I said, 'You really made a pop album. And not pop in the sense of current-day pop, but pop what it used to be as far as greats,' ' Martians says. 'He is getting into areas that I feel like are very reminiscent of a pop of yesteryear, which is very good.' Lacy digs into electronic influences One of the more surprising elements of the songs on Oh Yeah is how Lacy incorporates synthesizers and other electronic sounds. Lacy says he developed an interest in collecting synthesizers. 'I have a good amount of synthesizers. I actually spent a lot of money trying to get the famous vintage ones,' he says. 'I got the Juno, but I end up mostly using one that cost me about 900 bucks. I use the cheaper one the most. It's all over the album, and I won't say what that is because got to gatekeep that.' He recorded parts of the album in Paris Lacy, an L.A. native, spent time in Paris recording his album.'I just love it,' Lacy says of the city. 'I love the color of all the beiges and the lights and how old everything is, even the lighting at night. It's just the vibe.' The city inspired his sense of directness on the album. He goes on to say, 'I think it inspires me based on the clarity that I have being here.' The album will be out soon While Lacy remains cryptic about when exactly Oh Yeah is set to drop, all signs indicate it'll be here in the near future Best of Rolling Stone Sly and the Family Stone: 20 Essential Songs The 50 Greatest Eminem Songs All 274 of Taylor Swift's Songs, Ranked Solve the daily Crossword
