Apple now lets you share your AirTag location with major airlines — here's how it works
AirTags have a lot of different functions, but one of the most popular is to help users track their luggage, including the Share Item Location feature to pass on the location of their AirTag to someone else. While this was useful for getting friends to help track something down, it was of little help when an airline lost your luggage. However, Apple has expanded this feature thanks to a team-up with some of the biggest airlines in the world to offer AirTag-based luggage recovery with their customer support.
The partnership allows the airline to use your AirTag location URL as part of its customer service process. As such, it should mean that the airline will be able to quickly track your luggage in real-time, without relying on the more archaic system many currently utilize. Once your bag is recovered, the link will expire, meaning the airline can no longer track the luggage. At the time of writing, this feature is available with American Airlines, Delta, United and JetBlue, plus British Airways and others beyond the U.S.
If you want to know how to use the AirTag location sharing feature, be it because you need it now or for future reference, here are the steps to follow.
The first thing you need to do is open the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac and head to the Items tab.
Once there, find the lost items or AirTag and scroll down until you find the 'share item location' option.
Follow the prompts given, which will supply you with a URL that you can share with the Airline. Usually, the airline will include its method for how to share the link when you go through customer service.
Overall, this addition looks like it will help to mitigate some of the bigger concerns that come with traveling, and a partnership with the airlines is certainly a massive bonus. Apple (AAPL) Stock Upgraded to ‘Hold' by Jefferies — But Analysts Still Cautious on AI
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:) is one of the . On July 2, Jefferies upgraded the stock to 'Hold' from underperform and raised the price target to roughly $188 per share from $171. Analyst Edison Lee highlighted Apple's 15% annual growth in sales volume in April and May as a catalyst behind the upgrade. Lee also estimated that iPhone sales grew 19% year over year during the June 18 Chinese shopping holiday. 'This is a strong sign that AAPL is determined to defend market share in China, and Chinese consumers are still willing to buy iPhone at lower prices. We believe 40m units is likely the minimum AAPL is looking to maintain in China,' the analyst wrote. 'Given the special situation in the last 3 months, we see potential upside surprise for AAPL's 3QFY25 results.' A good June quarter 'could keep the stock stable near term.' However, he further cautioned that strong June quarter sales could imply slow demand in the September quarter. 'Jun Q results could be a positive surprise, but Sep Q guidance would likely still be subdued.' 'We believe the sales could be at risk since there remains a lack of new features, and AI is not yet a game changer. We are worried about the attractiveness of 17 Slim, since 1) it has only one camera, 2) its battery capacity is likely at only 2,800 mAh, and 3) a higher selling price than 16 Plus.' Apple may also be facing long-term risks, such as a downside in revenue from the App Store, the firm noted. Apple is a technology company known for its consumer electronics, particularly the iPhones and MacBooks. We see minor sales throughout the year, but not quite this steep (though it's gone as low as $23 in past sales). So if you want to bring Alexa's peppy helpfulness into your home, this is a good time to do so. The Dot is our favorite smart speaker under $50. Amazon Echo Dot Kids with Alexa for $32 ($28 off with Prime): The kids version of Amazon's smart speaker is the same hardware but with a kid-themed cover (owl or dragon) and it comes with a free year-long subscription to Amazon Kids+ with audiobooks, games and educational Alexa skills. Blink Video Doorbell for $30 ($30 off with Prime): If you already use Alexa in your home and want a compatible video doorbell, you may want to check out this deal. Note that you'll need a Blink subscription and a Blink Sync Module to store clips and to access other features. You can wire it to your existing doorbell wires or use it wirelessly with two AA batteries that can last up to two years.
