Crystal Palace receive last minute takeover bid from Donald Trump pal that could rescue Europa League hopes
NEW YORK JETS owner Woody Johnson has launched a bid to buy John Textor's minority stake in Crystal Palace, according to reports.
Textor, 59, has been trying to flog his shares as Uefa threaten to throw Palace out of next season's Europa League.

The Eagles qualified for the Europa League by virtue of lifting the FA Cup last month.
As Textor, who owns a 43 per cent stake in Palace, is also majority owner of French side Lyon, who have also qualified for the Europa League, the Eagles' place in Europe has come under threat.
Uefa rules dictate that two teams under the same ownership cannot compete in the same competition.
Textor could have placed his shares into a blind trust by March 1 to avoid this issue, but with Palace's FA Cup triumph still appearing to be a long shot at the time, the American businessman did not.
Palace chiefs are currently desperately trying to convince Uefa that Textor has no involvement in day-to-day goings on at the club.
The Missouri-native has long been thought to be trying to flog his shares.
And according to Sky Sports, Jets owner Johnson has made a bid.

June 14 - Danny Jansen's two-run homer capped a six-run sixth inning Friday night as the Tampa Bay Rays handed the New York Mets a rare home loss with a 7-5 decision in the opener of a three-game set. Jansen's sixth homer of the year scored Kameron Misner and made a winner of former New York pitcher Eric Orze (1-0), who earned his first MLB win with an inning of scoreless relief. But the Mets quickly wiped out the lead thanks to some clutch hitting from Starling Marte and some shaky Rays defense. Bradley's error set the stage for a two-run New York fourth that featured Marte lashing an RBI infield single off Bradley's leg to tie it. Gleyber Torres, Riley Greene slug Tigers past Reds
June 14 - Riley Greene homered and drove in four runs, Gleyber Torres blasted a pair of solo homers and the host Detroit Tigers rolled past the Cincinnati Reds, 11-5, on Friday. Torres drove in three runs while Javier Baez had three hits, including a homer, scored three runs and drove in two more. Jake Rogers added two hits and drove in two runs. Keider Montero (3-1) gave up two runs in five innings to pick up the win. TJ Friedl and Elly Da La Cruz homered for Cincinnati. De La Cruz and Tyler Stephenson each had three hits and two RBIs. Nick Martinez (4-7) gave up four runs in five innings in the loss. Torres, leading off the bottom of the first, ambushed the first pitch he saw from Martinez, smacking a fastball over the left field wall. Detroit left two runners stranded in the second. Friedl then led off the third by ripping a hanging Montero slider over the right field wall. With two out in the third, Greene crushed a Martinez fastball over the visitors' bullpen in left-center field to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead. The Reds squandered an opportunity in the fourth. Braves blast Rockies thanks to HRs from Michael Harris II, Marcell Ozuna
June 14 - Michael Harris II and Marcell Ozuna both hit late-inning three-run homers to help the Atlanta Braves come back and defeat the visiting Colorado Rockies 12-4 on Friday in the opener of their three-game series. Atlanta has won three of four and Colorado has lost six of its last seven. Atlanta leads the season series 3-1. Atlanta tied the game 4-4 with two outs in the sixth inning when Harris hit a three-run homer, his sixth, into the right field seats off reliever Jake Bird, who had not allowed an earned run in his last 10 outings. It was the third time in six games that Harris has homered. Ozuna gave the Braves the lead in the seventh with two out. His home run, his 11th and first since June 1, against reliever Victor Vodnik (1-2) landed in the front row of the left-field bleachers. He added a sacrifice fly in the eighth. The winning pitcher was Enyel De Los Santos (2-2). Raisel Iglesias and Dylan Lee both pitched a scoreless inning to finish the game. Neither starting pitcher figured in the decision. Atlanta's Bryce Elder pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed four runs on seven hits, three walks and two strikeouts. Colorado's German Marquez worked five innings and allowed one run on six hits, one walk and seven strikeouts.
