Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow still gossip about their mutual ex Brad Pitt

Daily Mail20 hours ago
Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow still gossip about their mutual ex-lover Brad Pitt.
The Friends actress divulged the tidbit in her new Vanity Fair profile, telling the publication, 'Ironically, I went to her and Brad's engagement party.'
Jennifer, 56, was married to Brad, 61, from 2000-2005, and Gwyneth, 52, got engaged to the actor in 1996 but called off the wedding in 1997.
When asked by VF's Julie Miller if they 'ever talk about Pitt', she replied: 'Oh, of course. How can we not? We're girls.'
The women met in 1996 when Jennifer's Friends co-star David Schwimmer was working with Gwyneth on the rom-com The Pallbearer.
Despite having Brad in common, the LolaVie founder said she and the Goop creator mostly discuss wellness, sharing, 'We're always swapping advice — "What are you doing for this? What are you doing for that? Do you have a new doctor for that?"'

Gwyneth's unauthorized biographer Amy Odell claims in her book, titled Gwyneth: A Biography, that Paltrow was 'sad' when Jennifer wed Brad.
She writes that the Academy Award winner got snappy with a reporter at the 2000 Toronto International Film Festival when asked about her love life.
An excerpt shared with People reads: 'The reporter then asked how she felt about Brad Pitt marrying Jennifer Aniston [in July of that year].
'"Are you really asking me this question?" Gwyneth replied, her eyes now "daggers."
'"I can't comment on this kind of thing."
'In reality, Gwyneth confided to friends that she'd felt sad when she learned they were getting married. (She was also fond of telling them that Brad "has terrible taste in women").'
After dating Brad for three years, the blonde beauty called off the engagement in 1997 because at age 24, she felt she was too young for marriage. She went on to have a three-year relationship with Ben Affleck.
Asked who was better in bed by Call Her Daddy's Alexandra Cooper in 2023, she answered: 'That's really hard. Because Brad was like the major chemistry love of [my] life at the time. And then Ben was like, technically excellent.'
Asked who she regarded as the better actor of the two, she said: 'They're both so talented. And Ben is a great writer and director.
'But I guess I would probably have to say acting alone, Brad. Because if you think of all the different roles that he's done.'
Years after her marriage to Brad ended, Jennifer went on to marry actor Justin Theroux. It lasted from 2015 until 2018.
In August 2023 she opened up about the long-term effect her parents Nancy Dow and John Aniston's bitter 1980 divorce had on her love life.
Speaking with WSJ. Magazine two years ago, she admitted that her 'difficult' childhood experiences didn't leave her desperate to say 'I do.'
'It was always a little bit difficult for me in relationships, I think, because I really was kind of alone,' she explained at the time.
She admitted it felt 'easier' to just be alone.
'I didn't like the idea of sacrificing who you were or what you needed, so I didn't really know how to do that,' she said, before adding, 'So it was almost easier to just be kind of solo. So I didn't have any real training in that give-and-take.'
The Murder Mystery star recently found love again with hypnotist and wellness entrepreneur Jim Curtis.

Guests and release date revealed for second season of Meghan's lifestyle show

Netflix has released a trailer for season two of the Duchess of Sussex's lifestyle show – a day after the Sussexes announced a watered-down deal with the streaming giant. The teaser, which Meghan also shared on her Instagram, revealed that the next instalment of With Love, Meghan will air in two weeks' time on August 26. Among the celebrity guests joining the former Suits star during the eight episodes will be US model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye star Tan France, as well as podcaster Jay Shetty and his cookbook author wife Radhi Devlukia. Also appearing will be chefs Samin Nosrat, Clare Smyth, Christina Tosi, Jose Andres and David Chang, and Meghan's close friends, pilates instructor Heather Dorak and make up artist Daniel Martin. The trailer, to the soundtrack of Bobby Day's upbeat Rockin' Robin, showed Meghan cooking, baking and crafting with her celebrity friends and saying: 'I love the idea of just spending time together … and finding new ways to show people you care.' She adds while being shown wrapping a gift: 'There are easy ways to show up, lovingly.' Meghan also reveals the Duke of Sussex is not a fan of lobster. She tells Andres as they prepare a dish together: 'Do you know who doesn't like lobster? My husband,' with the chef replying, prompting laughter from Meghan: 'And you marry (sic) him?' On Monday, Harry and Meghan announced a 'multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects', in contrast to their reported 100 million dollar (£74 million) contract five years ago. PR and crisis expert Mark Borkowski described it as a 'downgrade', and suggested Netflix was 'pivoting away' from Harry and Meghan. Season one of With Love, Meghan was savaged by critics. One review in The Guardian described it as a 'gormless lifestyle filler' and 'so pointless it might be the Sussexes' last TV show'. The series has a 3.2 rating out of 10 on Netflix said at the time that the second season had already finished filming. The duchess officially launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, in which Netflix is a partner, just hours after season one premiered in March. She has gone on to sell jam, pre-made baking mixes, herbal tea and rose wine – as well as flower sprinkles, which she heavily promoted during the programme and which are also seen being used in the new trailer.

Glamorous ESPN reporter given huge promotion ahead of new NFL season

ESPN's Laura Rutledge is adding an extra duty onto her plate in the fall as her football season is set to get just a bit longer. Rutledge, who is the host of the network's daily pro football show 'NFL Live', is set to make a move to the sidelines for 'Monday Night Football' each week. She will be joining Lisa Salters - who recently got a contract extension - for all 20 games the network will broadcast this season. They'll work alongside the No. 1 team of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. This would include 17 games on MNF, one of the games in a Week 18 double-header, a wild-card game, and a divisional-round game. Rutledge told The Athletic, ''Monday Night Football' is the pinnacle and it's always been a dream of mine. 'I still get chills every time I hear the 'MNF' music. Really excited to continue to work as hard as possible to earn this role.' Rutledge, age 36, will still keep her roles as the host of 'NFL Live' and 'SEC Nation' The 36-year-old Rutledge, who has previously won Miss Florida, worked a few games as a second sideline reporter for MNF in the past. She also gave plenty of credit to Salters for her help to grow her skillset. 'To even see my name next to Lisa Salters, is an honor,' Rutledge said in a 2024 ESPN Front Row profile. 'For years now, she has been such a wonderful mentor and friend to me.' Rutledge is now on track to be on the sidelines when ESPN broadcasts Super Bowl LXI in 2027 from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. It's set to be the first time that ESPN will ever broadcast the Super Bowl. In addition to the promotion, Rutledge will still host 'NFL Live' as well as 'SEC Nation' on Saturday mornings prior to each week's college football slate.
