Ariana Madix: I'm the Glam Reaper on Love Island USA

Ariana Madix feels like the "Glam Reaper" on Love Island USA. The 40-year-old star has hosted the hit TV show since 2024, and Ariana admits that she hates delivering bad news to the Islanders. She told Maura Higgins on Love Island USA: Aftersun: "[They] gas me up when I come in [to the villa] because I always hope that I get to bring good news but sometimes I'm the Glam Reaper." Despite this, Ariana has developed real affection for this year's Islanders. The former Vanderpump Rules star admires the contestants for putting themselves in the spotlight and exposing themselves to potentially fierce public criticism. Ariana - who starred on Vanderpump Rules between 2013 and 2024 - shared: "The islanders who were eliminated, there's been a lot of stuff that's just been crazy. "I just want them to know, and any islander who has also left the villa this point, I just want them all to know how much I genuinely really love them and appreciate them for putting themselves out there." Meanwhile, Vanderpump Rules has undergone a reboot ahead of season 12 of the show, and Ariana previously warned the all-new cast that they have a "tough road ahead of them". The reality star is excited to watch the upcoming season of the long-running TV show, but she insisted that it won't be an easy experience for the new line-up. Ariana - who made her Broadway as Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago in 2024 - told Extra: "I'm excited to see, I guess, how it works. "It's such a hard thing to do, I think, to put yourself out there … They have a tough road ahead of them … Anybody, I think, who's done that has lived that, and I think they'll be great. They'll have fun." Ariana also revealed that she learned a lot about herself during her time on Vanderpump Rules. She said: "I've learned to trust myself. I've also learned to trust my gut more and I think I've learned that I can do things that are hard in life."

Woman Finally Opens Forgotten Box From Thrift Shop, Tears at What She Finds

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman found something very special at a thrift store, and is hoping to reunite it with the original owner's family, more than 80 years later. Nicole, 40, lives near Sacramento, California, and used to spend hours looking through Goodwill bins for "interesting and old books" with a friend. On one of these trips, she thrifted an unusual book about a girl and her dog, but when it ended up mixed in with her friend's items and accidentally put into storage, she forgot about it. Until recently, that is, when her friend cleared out her storage and gave the book back to Nicole, at which point she looked through it properly, and it appeared to be the diary of a girl who lived during the 1940s, and the special relationship she had with her pet dog. "I just thought it was so cute and wanted to share it on TikTok," Nicole, who gave her first name only, told Newsweek. "I loved seeing how much this little girl cared about her dog all those years ago." Nicole shared a video of the find to her TikTok account, @nicolezbluegate, on June 9, beginning with the red cover, which bore the handwritten words: "The life story of 'my dog.'" The hand-written story included black-and-white photos of the girl and her dog Sassy, a Boston Terrier. It included the dog's date of birth—March 25, 1942—and even the names of Sassy's parents. The handwritten book from the 1940s that Nicole found while thrifting. The handwritten book from the 1940s that Nicole found while thrifting. TikTok @nicolezbluegate It delved into Sassy's life with the little girl, who reminisced on the day Sassy joined their family when she was in first grade, and how the puppy would ride in her doll pram and bicycle basket Sassy loved riding in the car, the little girl wrote, and together they had traveled through California, Nevada and Idaho, and the dog even visited the theatre and motels, hidden under a coat so "no one knew she was there." The girl went on to share some of the tricks she had taught Sassy to do, including to give the paw, sit, speak and revealed Sassy would even smile on command "when she wants something very much." "She has the most lovable disposition. She always wants to be petted and praised," the girl wrote. "When I am sick she is always beside me and will stay there just as long as I am in bed." The girl finished her loving story about her dog by sharing her wish that Sassy "will be with me for at least fifty more years, as I'll never have another one like her. She's my pal!" Nicole told Newsweek: "Some of the details, like sneaking Sassy into the movie theater and feeding her milk, were so funny and sweet. It made me feel connected to her. "I have two dogs of my own who mean a lot to me, and it just shows that our pets have always been important to us." Boston terriers were a popular choice for dog owners in the 1940s, and were among the most popular breeds of the decade, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). The cocker spaniel, beagle, collie and boxer dog were also among the top breeds at the time. Photos of Sassy and the little girl inside the book. Photos of Sassy and the little girl inside the book. TikTok @nicolezbluegate TikTok users were hugely moved by the video, viewed more than 70,000 times, as one commenter admitted: "I would be spiraling trying to find the girl. This is precious." "Oh man that last couple of lines got me crying," another admitted. "If only they could live 50 years." "Just so sweet how she loved her dog and I know if this little girl is still alive and now in her 90's she still thinks about Sassy," another said, as one insisted: "I need to know what happened to the little girl!" Nicole revealed in a comment that there is a name in the corner of the book, which looks as though it says C Schultz. And as the young author mentions the city of Salinas, California, Nicole has "been in touch with a local Salinas history group who've been trying to help track down the girl or her family," and who believe there could be a connection in the city of Elk Grove, California. "They've found a possible lead, but nothing has been confirmed," she said, adding that she hasn't shared more online as she wants "to be respectful and make sure anything I say is accurate." "I'd really love to return the book to her family if anyone is still around," she said. "It feels like such a sweet piece of family history and I imagine it may have been donated by mistake." WWE Evolution 2025 Match Card, Start Time And Odds

More Images) WWE Evolution II didn't exactly get the proper build-up it deserved, but the show itself should easily exceed even the lowest of expectations. This year's event emanates from Start Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia and is just the second all-women's Evolution event in WWE history. The first show took place way back in 2018 and was headlined by Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella. This year's event has a few major attractions, including Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky and the returns of Trish Stratus and Nikki Bella. There has been plenty of backlash to the lack of promotion to WWE Evolution 2025, even among WWE talents themselves, with a belief that the show has been 'hastily produced' and was set up to fail. The 2018 WWE Evolution event, however, was arguably WWE's best all-around show that year, giving fans hope that the 2025 show will show will follow suit. WWE Evolution 2025 Start Time and Streaming Info WWE Evolution 2025 will stream on Peacock in the United States beginning at 7 pm EST (6 pm CST). For international viewers, the show will air on Netflix. WWE Evolution 2025 Match Card WWE Evolution II features seven confirmed matches. Below is the full match card: WWE hasn't confirmed if more women will be added to the match. The winner of the battle royal will earn a championship match at the upcoming Clash in Paris event. WWE Evolution 2025 Odds and Favorites WWE Evolution 2025 betting odds from MyBookie (h/t 411Mania) hint at some huge favorites at Sunday's event in Atlanta. Stratus is returning for a one-off blink-and-you-miss-it match, just as she did when she teamed with Stratton at WWE Elimination Chamber in Toronto earlier this year. There are no indications that Stratus is sticking around for the long haul or gearing up for a retirement tour, making this a surefire victory for Stratton as she looks ahead to her match against Jade Cargill at SummerSlam. Rhea Ripley has never defeated Iyo Sky in singles action, and it's a virtual certainty that she will get over that hump at some point. Sky has performed incredibly well as Women's World Champion, developing a strong connection with the WWE fan base in the process. But Ripley is the biggest star in WWE's women's division right now, and after suffering a few major losses recently, Ripley likely isn't going to lose another title match. Back in May, it was reported that former TNA star and recent NXT signee Jordynne Grace would be called up to Raw or SmackDown soon. While Grace is certainly ready to be on the main roster, WWE just promoted arguably its three top women's stars in Roxanne Perez, Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia to Raw or SmackDown. Grace is needed more in NXT than on WWE's star-studded main roster women's division, making her the likely Winner over Jacy Jayne at WWE Evolution II in order to extend her stay on the black-and-gold brand. This triple threat match, which should headline WWE Evolution II, is a total toss-up, with a case to be made for Bayley, Becky Lynch or Lyra Valkyria to walk out of Atlanta as Women's Intercontinental Champion. The one thing Lynch has working in her favor, however, is the fact that she only recently won the IC title and is clearly intent on elevating the midcard championship to greater heights. The best-case scenario at Evolution is for Lynch, a crafty veteran heel, to steal the pin from Valkyria and keep her title, leading to another match with her fellow Irish star in the near future. Naomi really needs a win over Cargill at some point, but 'The Storm'' just won the WWE Queen of the Ring tournament to secure a title match at SummerSlam. Though at some point Naomi is going to get her revenge on Cargill, WWE Evolution II is not the time or place for that to happen. Instead, Naomi should successfully cash in her briefcase on Cargill immediately after Cargill defeats Stratton at SummerSlam and wins her first singles title in WWE. With Bianca Belair announced as the special guest referee at Saturday's edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, expect 'The EST of WWE' to finally choose a side in the battle between her two best friends Naomi and Cargill. WWE, as is the case with many other matches on this card, just threw this four-way tag title match together, which hints at a successful title defense for The Judgment Day. Bliss and Flair should only be a short-term duo while the other two teams are here purely to represent their respective brands. If anyone other than Judgment Day wins, that would be a surprise. The top five favorites are: There is a reason why Stephanie Vaquer is the overwhelming favorite, and that's because she's both the best and most obvious choice. Of all the women advertised for the match, Vaquer is the closest to world title contention, with only Nikki Bella a real threat to her. Vaquer is someone WWE should push strongly as soon as possible, and a title match in Paris could get her to the mountaintop just next month.
