Carlisle United announce new deal with shirt sponsor
Carlisle United's main shirt sponsor Aqua Pura has agreed a new three-year deal with the Blues.
The Cumbrian firm's logo will remain on the front of United's shirt until 2028.
The deal comes towards the end of the Armathwaite company's first season as the front-of-shirt sponsor at Brunton Park.
Aqua Pura replaced Bimson Haulage as the main shirt sponsor at the start of this season, their branding accompanying United's 2024/25 home and away shirt designs.
The firm had previously been short sponsors for two years.
They will now remain prominent on United's kit for a further spell which will either continue in League Two or the National League next season.

Blues officials have welcomed the deal.
Commercial assistant Martyn Vevers said: "It's a pleasure to extend a deal with a brilliant local brand from Armathwaite and we cannot thank them enough for their continued support.
"We look forward to working together and building this fantastic relationship further."
Aqua Pura marketing manager Hollie Veal said it was a "proud moment" for the company and added: "With many of Aqua Pura's employees and their families being passionate supporters of the club, this sponsorship is a natural extension of the brand's commitment to its local community.
"As a brand that sources its pure mineral water from Cumbria's Eden Valley, Aqua Pura is dedicated to supporting local clubs and initiatives that bring people together.
"This sponsorship reflects Aqua Pura's belief in the journey that Carlisle United is on. Aqua Pura continues to join the Carlisle United fans in showing unwavering support for the team along the way."
No details have been given about the financial scale of the sponsorship deal.
Aqua Pura's initial front of shirt sponsorship sees their logo on United's home kit, which is an homage to their 1974/75 First Division strip, and their green, pink and navy away kit.
Carlisle will unveil new designs for the 2025/26 season in the summer.

'Diarra would be an ambitious signing'
[Getty Images] Leeds fans will get perhaps their first glimpse of potential new signing Habib Diarra when England play his Senegal side at Wembley on Tuesday. The White's £22m bid was reported by L'Equipe over the weekend, and is the first concrete offer that has come to light since this summer's window began. Advertisement The 21-year-old Diarra is a box-to-box midfielder who is strong in-and-out of possession and he progresses the ball with trickery in transition. Despite his age, the Senegalese international has three years of Ligue 1 experience; while he captained Strasbourg last season and his four goals and five assists was the biggest contribution of his young career. United's owners, 49ers Enterprises, are known for going about their transfer business very quietly. Signings like Ethan Ampadu and Largie Ramazani happened with very few rumours before those transfers were completed. The 49ers see this strategy as crucial to securing the best deals they can for the club. Advertisement Midfield was arguably the Whites strongest area in last year's record-breaking 100 point season. Club-captain Ampadu, instant fan favourite Ao Tanaka, Illia Gruev and loanee Joe Rothwell formed a brick wall in the Leeds engine room. But United have lost Rothwell and with the Premier League being a huge step up, it is vital the team is strengthened in all areas of the pitch. Diarra would be an ambitious signing and it is a measure of what the club think of him with the size of their opening bid. Having risen through the French team's academy to captain the club into Europe, Diarra may need convincing. But the Peacocks proved with May's parade what a sleeping giant they are, and Leeds in the Premier League will be a proposition for anyone. Find more from Adonis Storr at The Roaring Peacock

Manchester United teenager Gabe Biancheri gets first taste of camp with Canada
TORONTO - Born in Wales to a Canadian mother and Italian father, Gabe Biancheri has options when it comes to playing international soccer. The 18-year-old Manchester United academy forward has already represented Wales at youth level and attended a Welsh senior camp. Now he is getting a taste of Canada as a training player with Jesse Marsch's squad at the Canadian Shield Tournament. Having already represented Wales at the 2023 UEFA U-17 Championship and in UEFA U-19 qualifying, Biancheri would have to make a one-time switch with FIFA to change international allegiance. 'I don't know what is going to happen next,' Biancheri said of his international future. 'I've got some time.' But for the time being, he is weighing his options and checking out Canada. 'All the players and all the staff have made me feel very welcome to ease me in,' Biancheri said. Biancheri's mother was born in Calgary but moved to Florida when she was six. University brought her to Wales where she met Biancheri's father, a native of Sicily who came to Wales for work. Biancheri is also eligible for England given his grandmother on his mother's side was born in Birmingham. While England has not yet contacted him, Italy reached out last year. Biancheri has been letting his agent handle such. Biancheri's mother helped him prepare for his first visit to Canada. 'She was just telling me about Canada, how nice the people are,' he said. 'She also sang me the national anthem and sent me the lyrics. She was excited for me.' Biancheri has been able to play tourist here, having already gone up the CN Tower. In attending the Canada camp in Halifax and Toronto, Biancheri missed out on the Welsh under-21 side's 4-0 loss to Norway on Friday in its final friendly before opening 2027 UEFA U-21 qualifying against Denmark in September. Biancheri spent nine years at Cardiff City FC before joining Manchester United at 16. United reportedly paid Cardiff a six-figure fee for the teenager, who signed his first pro contract upon turning 17 in September 2023. While comfortable at Cardiff, the club he grew up supporting, Biancheri decided it was time for a move. 'I wanted to test myself and put myself in the deep end … I needed that challenge,' he said. 'There were teams looking at me. But when United comes, it's very hard to say no,' he added. 'It's one of the biggest clubs in the world.' Last season he started with United under-18 team before moving up to the under-21 side that plays young talent from other top teams in Premier League 2. 'I'm enjoying it. Obviously being at such a big club has its benefits — travelling around. playing the best teams in the U.K. and Europe,' he said. Biancheri, who stands five foot 10, says his favourite role is playing up front as a No. 9. 'I'm not the biggest or the fastest or the strongest, but I know where to be,' he said. 'And that will always get me goals. And I've got an eye for a goal as well. 'But I can also play out wide or just behind or off the striker.' Football has always been his game. 'My first word was ball,' he said with a smile. Biancheri, who has two more years plus an option on his United contract, knew Canadian defender Jamie Knight-Lebel, having played against him in England. And he talked to Fulham defender Luc de Fougerolles in advance of the Canada camp to get the lay of the land, with Marsch putting the two in contact. Biancheri says the intensity of Canadian training sessions surprised him. Marsch clearly likes what he sees in Biancheri. 'He's a dynamic player. He's very good around the goal,' said Marsch. 'He's technically gifted. You can see he's an intelligent player. 'He's a version of Jonathan David. He's not exactly the same player but he's a striker that can play up on the backline but also is good at coming underneath and connecting plays and being part of the buildup phase.' In Manchester, Biancheri still lives with a host family and one of his young United teammates. He has already had a couple of training sessions with the United first team. 'A good experience,' he said. 'Watching them on TV when I was growing up and watching them on TV now and then getting a chance with them is always nice. It's good experience and it's also challenges me and develops me. And it's what I need.' —- This report by The Canadian Press was first published June 9, 2025.

Man United given transfer green light to sign dream Matheus Cunha teammate
Youri Tielemans has refused to rule out a transfer this summer after being linked with Manchester United for years. Tielemans, 28, joined Aston Villa from Leicester City on a free transfer a month before United paid Chelsea an initial fee of £55million for Mason Mount in the summer of 2023. The former Anderlecht midfielder is halfway through the four-year contract he signed that offseason. Advertisement After an inconsistent first season at the club, Tielemans was almost ever-present last term, with the club's players and supporters voting him their Player of the Season. He has now acknowledged how well he performed during a press conference before Belgium played Wales in a 2026 World Cup qualifier - while refusing to rule out a move away from his current club. READ MORE: Mbeumo signs, £60m striker, five sold - Manchester United's dream attack after transfer overhaul READ MORE: Viktor Gyokeres to Man United transfer twist as Victor Osimhen responds to deal "I was constantly at a very high level and was very involved in Villa's game," Tielemans said. "I have made progress in all areas. Advertisement "Does that make me think about a transfer? Nothing is ruled out, but I am not really thinking about that. "I am doing well at Villa. I feel a lot of confidence from the club and the coach." The comments open the door to a potential move to United, should the club decide to test the waters with an offer for him. Tielemans' individual performances were not enough to secure Champions League qualification for next season, as Villa losing at Old Trafford on the final day means they will instead play in the Europa League. In an Instagram post after that match, Tielemans acknowledged it was "frustrating to end the season this way." A new midfielder is among United's priority targets, with Christian Eriksen set to depart the club when his contract expires at the end of this month. There is also still uncertainty over the future of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo due to their respective current contract situations. Advertisement Tielemans, though, could complement the already-signed Matheus Cunha and the prospective arrival of Bryan Mbeumo. There is the potential for Bruno Fernandes to form a partnership with the Belgian in central midfield. The Belgian maestro's creativity could provide an extra edge for United in attack, and help unleash Cunha's full potential at his new club.
