A striking transformation for Nani
The actor is dressed in a deep crimson maroon coloured coat left unbuttoned over black attire. Nani looks unrecognisable in his long braided hair, thick beard, and brooding presence. Rahman Slams ‘Dirty Games' Against Shwetha Menon, Backs Her AMMA Presidency Bid

Chennai: Malayalam actor Rahman, who has made a name for himself in both the Malayalam and Tamil film industries, has now come out strongly in support of actress Shwetha Menon, saying that he was shocked by the baseless accusations being made against her. Taking to his Instagram page to pen a lengthy post expressing support to Shwetha Menon, who is contesting the polls for the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), Rahman wrote, "Dear Shwetha, I was deeply shocked when I read about the baseless accusations against you. My heart is filled with anger at the injustice of it all. I have known you for almost three decades, and in all that time you have been a true friend — one of the kindest and most genuine people I have met in our industry. Though we worked together in only one film, the shows we did and the time we spent together were enough for me to understand your character and to treasure our friendship." Rahman, who is also the co-brother of music director A R Rahman, then went on to say,"During those shows, I saw firsthand how much you cared for others — whether it was fellow actors, especially newcomers, the crew, organisers, or your fans. I still remember you quietly buying medicines for crew members who were unwell, without expecting any thanks or recognition. You treated everyone with respect, regardless of their position. Those moments spoke volumes about the person you are." The actor then went on to comment on the current situation in which the actress finds herself in. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rahman (@rahman_actor) He wrote,"This current situation is nothing but utter nonsense. Meher and I are shocked and disgusted by the people behind this malicious act. It is clear to me that this is a deliberate attempt to tarnish your name and stop you from being elected as the President of the Malayalam Artists' Association. Such dirty games are common in politics, but I never expected to see them in our film industry." Seeking her forgiveness for not reaching out to her sooner, Rahman said he was unable to reach out, first because of food poisoning and then as he was mourning the loss of his dear friend, Shanavas. "My words are meant for you, but I also want the public to know where I stand. I'm aware that some media outlets may twist my words, but I honestly don't care," the actor wrote. Urging the actress not to lose heart, actor Rahman said, "Shwetha, please don't let this break your spirit. I know how hard you have worked to get where you are today — without anyone's help, through sheer determination and strength. You are stronger than this storm, and those who have tried to harm you will one day face the consequences of their actions. I have no doubt that you will make an excellent President of the Malayalam Artists' Association, and I stand with you in full support."

After Isha Talwar, Mary Kom Actor Reveals Awkward Audition Demand By YRF Casting Director Shanoo Sharma: "I Didn't Give In"

New Delhi: Yesterday, Mirzapur actor Isha Talwar recalled her experience of auditioning with YRF Casting Director Shanoo Sharma, who is currently basking in the success of Saiyaara. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's talent caught her eye, and rest is history. In the comments section of one of Shanoo's viral interviews, Isha wrote her experience and said she was asked to do a crying scene in the middle of a busy Mumbai restaurant. Now, Mary Kom actor Bijou Thaangjam has also opened up about how he was made to feel awkward during his very first audition demand for Detective Byomkesh Bakshy by Shanoo Sharma. What's Happening Mary Kom fame Bijou Thaangjam revealed how Shanoo Sharma had asked him to enact a scene in the middle of a cafe as well. This was his first-ever film audition for Sushant Singh Rajput-led Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. Bijou said, "@talwarisha I hear you! My very first film audition was with her, for Byomkesh Bakshy. I wasn't fluent in Hindi, not very confident, but hopeful to give it my best. And just like your experience, I was asked to perform a scene right in front of a cafe, the one that used to be called Bru World, Yari Road." He added, "I didn't give in. A few days later, her assistant called me back for a proper studio audition. But by then, I had already signed Mary Kom." Reddit What Isha Talwar Said About Shanoo Sharma "So when I started auditioning for roles with Shanoo... I was told to perform a scene at a restaurant called Mia cucina in Versova, Bombay... a CRYING scene in the middle of a busy working restaurant with customers dining next to my table... I was told I should have no inhibitions as an actor, and hence I should be able to do a crying scene with Shanoo sitting in front of me and some of her assistants... It was such a confusing/weird ask... It shattered my confidence as a young girl in films," Isha wrote. Isha said she didn't get the role, but she doesn't have regret about it. She added #dignityfirstalways to her post. "I couldn't understand why a senior casting director needed to put a young girl through this... It's only fair that an actor is given a good casting office space to be able to audition in... or if you want to do a real location, then hire a spot, pay for it and audition! Anyway, just putting this story a decade later for all the newcomers to tell you that feel no pressure... I do remember saying I can't do it, and of course, I never got the role ... but at least I didn't give in to the weird ask and surely didn't cry at a restaurant for a role!" Isha wrote in the comment. Shanoo Sharma hasn't responded to the accusation yet. In A Nutshell One day, after Isha Talwar spoke about the mistreatment faced by her while auditioning for YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma, Mary Kom actor Bijou Thaangjam, who had a similar experience with Shanoo has spoken up. He revealed how he was asked to perform in front of a cafe, too, but he did not give in.

Disco Shanti says she was depressed for years after husband Srihari's death, wants to make comeback with this name

Srihari's untimely death in 2013 shocked the film industry. His wife, former actor Disco Shanti, was left looking after their two sons alone. Shanti is now making a comeback with the Tamil film Bullet, which will be released in Telugu as Bullet Bandi. In an interview with TOI, she spoke about being depressed for many years after his death and only feeling better in the last few years. Disco Shanti and Srihari married in 1996 and have two sons and a daughter. Disco Shanti about Srihari's death Shanti stated in the interview that she didn't miss acting at all after deciding to quit the film industry after her marriage to Srihari. Revealing that she was depressed after his death, she said, 'I didn't miss it at all. I got married and had my first child immediately. My husband, who acted as a villain, became a hero. It was a dream world. I lost him 12 years ago, and then went into depression. I've been okay for the last five years, all because of my two kids.' Now that she is making a comeback after decades, Shanti says that she would like to have a different screen name to honour her husband than the one she's most famous for. 'The value of the name is still there, but I am a little hesitant about still using it, as I've two kids who are of marriageable age. But I was told that's how everyone knows me. I would like to be credited as Shanti Srihari, but at the end of the day, it is the director and producer's call as they are investing their time and money in making this project.'
