Report – Inter Milan Re-Establish Contact With Atalanta Over Brazil Midfielder After Failed Pursuit Of Nigeria Star

Yahoo4 hours ago
Inter Milan and Atalanta could reportedly reopen talks for the transfer of Brazilian midfielder Ederson to San Siro.
According to Tuttosport via FCInter1908, the 26-year-old could still join the Nerazzurri toward the end of the summer.
Drawn-out negotiations over Ademola Lookman have not affected the strong relationship between the clubs.
Indeed, Atalanta and Inter have recently agreed terms for Nicola Zalewski, who will play in Bergamo next season.
Now, they could meet at the negotiating table once again.

Inter had shortlisted Ederson as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu earlier in the summer.
However, they've withdrawn from the race to sign the ex-Salernitana star in the meantime.
Indeed, with Calhanoglu failing to join Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, Inter have focused on other targets.
Moreover, Atalanta's excessive €70 million asking price has always been a considerable roadblock.
Yet, there could be a late twist to the tale.
Inter may try to test Atalanta's resolve with a €40-45 million bid for Ederson.

YouTube reveals announcers, personalities for Chiefs vs. Chargers Week 1 game in Brazil

The Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Chargers Week 1 game, streaming exclusively on YouTube Friday, Sept. 5 from Brazil, will be a non-traditional viewing experience with a somewhat familiar broadcasting crew. Rich Eisen will handle play-by-play duties with Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner joining him as the analyst. Warner, whose role was first reported by The Athletic in July, works for Westwood One as its lead game analyst for its "Monday Night Football" radio productions. Eisen returned to host ESPN's "SportsCenter" on Monday, Aug. 18 and his eponymous show will be part of the network's direct-to-consumer offerings starting this fall. YouTube is highlighting its content creators by having former Central Florida kicker turned online personality Donald "Deestroying" De La Haye join NFL Media's Stacey Dales as the sideline reporters for the game. Kay Adams will be onsite to host the pregame and postgame shows, with former quarterback Cam Newton – who now hosts a popular podcast on YouTube – alongside her. Ex-NFLers Derek Carr, Brandon Marshall and Tyrann Mathieu will join the pregame show from NFL Network's studios in Los Angeles, as will fantasy football creator Peter Overzet. The postgame show will feature Adams, Newton, Dales and "Deestroying" from São Paulo. Terry McAuley, NBC's rules official, will join the stream in the same role. A Spanish stream will be available, with René Giraldo on play-by-play and former NFL kicker Edgar Lopez providing color commentary. The pregame show begins on the NFL's official YouTube page at 7 p.m. ET with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. YouTube said it will announce more content crossovers from its creators in the coming weeks. Watch-along streams with various types of personalities are one format that is expected to be revealed.

Xabi Alonso makes his feelings clear on Rodrygo after Liverpool transfer links

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is pleased with Rodrygo's development, as he gears up for his debut La Liga fixture at the helm of Los Blancos. The Brazilian winger has remained in the Spanish capital despite transfer speculation following Alonso's appointment. Premier League teams Liverpool, Tottenham, and Arsenal were all reportedly interested in securing the forward's services earlier this month. Liverpool is expected to swoop for a forward this summer after selling Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, with Alexander Isak at the top of Arne Slot's transfer shortlist. Madrid was understood to be willing to sanction Rodrygo's departure without actively seeking a new destination for the two-time Champions League victor. The Spaniard boasts an abundance of attacking talent, including Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr., and Jude Bellingham. Whilst Los Blancos appeared comfortable retaining Rodrygo, their pursuit of William Saliba reportedly prompted them to propose a sensational exchange deal. The Gunners are eager to strengthen their wide options, and reports in Spain suggest Madrid attempted to entice them with an offer, having previously considered signing Saliba next summer or as a free agent in 2027. Currently, Rodrygo remains available to Alonso with the club's campaign set to commence against Osasuna on Tuesday evening. The former Liverpool midfielder believes his player is in excellent condition despite the summer's uncertainty. "There are a lot of rumors this summer," Alonso said, previewing his team's first match of the season. "He looks good to me. I'm counting on everyone, and I want them to be committed to the team and be at 100 percent. That's what worries me and what's occupying me right now." The Madrid gaffer has a wealth of talent at his disposal, and new recruit Franco Mastantuono, 18, could yet be among those making it tough for Rodrygo to secure regular game time. The young player has made quite an impression on Alonso since joining the club. "The first time I spoke to him, I was very surprised by his personality," the Spaniard said. "He was still 17 years old and a very self-confident man. "He wasn't afraid of taking the step to come to Real Madrid. You can see his maturity, his desire, his quality. He's going to integrate into the team very quickly. "He could get minutes tomorrow. He'll bring quality, energy, he's committed defensively, and he has good momentum. I've seen that he has that drive and that Argentine competitive spirit. He's good with the final pass. He's at a very good level."
