BOYS' SOCCER PREVIEW: Trinity returns core of team that was one win shy of state tourney
The Warriors reached the Region I championship before falling 2-0 to the eventual state champion, East Fairmont, ending their 2024 campaign in heartbreak at East-West Stadium.
Trinity returns a season later with a strong nucleus of experienced players on the roster who have three years of varsity experience for head coach Dan Lohmann and his program, making the upcoming campaign one the Warriors are excited for.
'We have a very strong group of seniors who've been in our program for multiple years now,' Lohmann said. 'It's already been a lot of fun to be with this group and to see how they've grown in a short amount of time. They're great kids, and they work hard. We look forward to getting started with some games.'
Trinity Christian begins the 2025 season by hosting Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on Aug. 22.
Two of the key players returning for the Warriors are Nathan Adams and Austin Porta, who will provide the attacking threat.
Midfielder Jakub Gallik will also be back for TCS, a player able to command the midfield and dictate the play for his team.
Brayden Clampfer provides a stable defensive presence on the left side.
Parker Hopkins returns between the posts as one of the top goalkeepers in the state in any class.
'Parker has the mindset of being fearless,' Lohmann said. 'That's what you need to excel as a keeper. He is a true leader who sees everything on the field at all times, and it's very important to have the confidence that he does. He's a commanding presence in the box and raised his level of play tremendously last year for us.'
Hopkins was selected as one of two goalkeepers on the Class AA/A all-state first team and finished runner-up in the Goalkeeper of the Year voting.
'We started to establish the true culture of the team when I started here,' Lohmann said. 'These seniors are now the ones who really take on the responsibility of making sure we are doing what we need to do to prepare successfully. We love seeing them lead their teammates and be encouraging to one another.'
The Warriors had some unexpected roster gaps this season, which they filled with players who have limited experience. But Lohmann says that's exactly who his team has grown to be over the years.
'That's just the DNA of who our team has become,' he said. 'We have players who have experience playing at high levels of travel soccer and players who have barely touched the field before. I think some teams are surprised when they see the size of our school, and then see how competitive we actually are on the field. It's a credit to the players and their focus and dedication to themselves and to each other.'

NBA Fans Marvel As China Welcomes Stephen Curry With Massive Drone Show
NBA Fans Marvel As China Welcomes Stephen Curry With Massive Drone Show originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Stephen Curry has landed in China for his Curry Training Camp 'World Tour', wherein he will be conducting his famous training camp for the next three or four days. Curry was greeted by thousands of fans who mobbed the streets for the Warriors superstar's arrival. Upon his arrival, Curry was also greeted with a stunning drone and light show that used thousands of drones to display a basketball swish up in the air alongside multiple-story buildings glowing with bright colors. NBA fans saw this video online and were left stumped at how warmly China is welcoming Curry. "A foreign country is doing more for him than the Warriors front office." "I was finna say bruh no way they make the net swish." "They ain't doing this for LeBron. They ain't doing this for Jordan. Face of the league." "China is doing more for Curry than his FO. I hate it here." "Very Impressive." "Better than fireworks." "This is so much cooler than fireworks. Can the United States get into this sh**?" The noteworthy aspect of this show is not just the massive display of a basketball shot, but also the Curry signature on the ball. The attention to detail here, especially, left the fans in awe of what a foreign country is doing for the Global superstar Curry. Curry hit the ground running soon after landing in China. From going on live stream to starting his training camp's first day within hours of landing, Curry seems to have a lot on his plate for this trip to China. Curry now joins a long list of NBA players who have visited China this offseason. Players like James Harden and Jalen Williams came earlier this month, and even Kawhi Leonard is expected to show up soon. China has a massive fan base of the NBA. It will not be a surprise if China is also involved in the global expansion league that NBA commissioner Adam Silver is planning. While Adam Silver is focused on Europe at the moment, China could be his next target audience. Global ambassadors like Curry could promote this league and bring it to a level where the champions could deservedly call themselves World champions by beating the best from around the world. Spurs' star De'Aaron Fox was also expected to join Curry on this global trip, but unfortunately, he had to cancel the trip a few weeks ago. While we do not know why Fox did that, having him on this trip would certainly increase the prestige of the camp. Azzi Fudd, the NCAA star from the UConn Huskies, who is also a Curry brand athlete, has also joined him on this story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Aug 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Stephen Curry confident despite Warriors' ‘different' offseason
The post Stephen Curry confident despite Warriors' 'different' offseason appeared first on ClutchPoints. MENLO PARK, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors are the only NBA team not to make a single move this offseason, but Stephen Curry isn't worried. At his ninth annual Curry Camp, the Warriors' star guard detailed to reporters why he remains confident. 'My confidence has been built on the identity we were able to create over the last third of the regular season last year. You know, the playoff journey,' Curry said in response to the Warriors' lack of offseason movement. 'We have a really good team, and we do know we need some pieces to help take us to the next level.' After acquiring Jimmy Butler at the 2025 trade deadline, the Warriors went 23-7 with Butler on the floor to end the regular season. In the playoffs, they advanced to the second round, where they fell in five games to the Minnesota Timberwolves after Curry suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain. At his camp on Thursday, Curry also made it clear that Butler, Draymond Green, and the veterans on the Dubs' roster will be ready this season, regardless of what happens. 'I think the veteran presence that we have — me, Jimmy [Butler], Draymond [Green] — we understand how to prepare through that uncertainty and be able to hit the ground running at training camp, knowing you should have some movement by then.' This summer, the Warriors have had a lot of uncertainty surrounding Jonathan Kuminga. Although there is still a lot of unknowns in the matter, Curry acknowledged that it has not impacted his thinking or preparation for the upcoming 2025-26 season. 'You control what you can control,' Curry stated. 'And no matter how many new experiences you have or whatever the differences of this offseason versus previous ones, you don't let it affect your own personal preparation for the season.' The Warriors still have plenty of work to do before training camp. The Kuminga situation remains a mystery, and several notable potential free-agent signings still find themselves in a holding pattern as a result. Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton are among the key players Golden State is expected to sign after Kuminga's holdout ends. Until then, the Dubs remain stuck in their holding pattern, which has led to zero offseason movement from the organization. The Warriors will begin training camp on September 29, giving them about six weeks to figure out their roster. Rockets' Alperen Sengun calls out whiny Warriors
The post Rockets' Alperen Sengun calls out whiny Warriors appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Houston Rockets have arguably had a busier offseason than any other NBA team, having traded for Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant and made some additional savvy free agency signings. The Rockets are hoping they will be able to compete for an NBA championship with their new core built around Durant, Alperen Sengun, and Amen Thompson. This spring, the Rockets were escorted out of the first round by the Golden State Warriors despite being the number two seed, and recently, Sengun got 100% real on what he perceived to be some hypocrisy on the part of Golden State during that series. 'They're a very experienced team, and they fouled a lot. In the playoffs, they don't call it. But they were the ones crying all series about fouls not being called,' said Sengun, per @SocratesDergi on X, formerly Twitter. The Warriors have faced accusations of relying on illegal screens and other questionable maneuvers since the early days of their dynasty in the mid-2010s, and they're still finding ways to get under their opponents' skin a decade later. Sengun and the Rockets found themselves down 3-1 in the series this year before clawing their way back and forcing a Game 7, only to get blown out in front of their home fans. A chronicled history Perhaps no one player in NBA history has tortured a franchise the way Stephen Curry has the Houston Rockets over the course of his career. Curry first matched up with the Rockets in the playoffs a decade ago, gentleman's sweeping them in the 2015 Western Conference Finals en route to his first championship, and he went on to eliminate Houston in 2016, 2018, 2019, and most recently this past season in 2025. The latest heartbreak may very well have been what motivated the Rockets to push their chips to the center of the table and acquire Durant, who helped send them home in the 2018 Western Conference Finals when he too was a member of the Warriors. Houston is hoping that with Durant in the fold, they will be able to end their 10-year long nightmare and raise an NBA championship trophy for the first time since 1995.
